The initial staff member at the desk for our check-in was very professional and knowledgeable. The room was excellent and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and the morning desk staff was very pleasant. The airport shuttle driver was helpful and very pleasant also. On my next trip to Washington DC I will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Just be aware that there is a parking fee, $10/night. They don't tell you up front and even when you check in, they don't mention it. Furthermore, they have a couple of water bottles in the room and if you drink those, you have to pay $5. I can understand that they're trying to stay in business and make a profit but I will definitely try to avoid this particular hotel in the future.

They failed at getting me to and from the airport. On the way to I had to get an uber. On the way back the receptionist told me he was 10 minutes away several times. They could have told me the truth, instead I’m waiting outside for over 30 minutes. I would not come here if you need to get to the airport or back comfortably.

Needed an emergency hotel and this fit our family of five. It's ok. Pros: - Large room with sofa bed, great for family of five - Breakfast included - Convenient location, quick shuttle to/from airport - Quiet - Great A/C Cons: - Pool out of order and it's the middle of summer - Breakfast had a couple of issues. Super overcooked eggs; bread not fresh and showing bits of mould - Fitness centre machines (other than Peleton) need a serious service.

The Hotel itself was very comfortable and clean. They still advertise a hot tub however it was filled in with concrete. They also charge for parking on top of your hotel fee. None of this was stated anywhere on the reservation. We stay in this area once a year and will no longer use this hotel.

Nice hotel but I was shocked having to pay $10 a day for parking. Bed was a tad bit hard and pillows a little soft. Limp bacon. But overall good. And the Sheetz is right next door which is convenient. Oh and when are hotels going to install USB ports?

Clean, nice and quiet property. Rooms were clean, we only stayed for one night. The shuttle to airport starts only after 6 am so that was a bummer and parking on site requires online booking through a QR code. I had asked for 4 day parking but the receptionist booked it for 5 days (got charged an extra day). But close enough to airport so convenient.

Pros. Very close to the airport. Not crowded. Good condition. Nice studio rooms w kitchen Cons. The airport shuttle doesn’t hold the schedule. Drivers are rude and trying to explain you are came over to late or too early. Finally on my day of departure the shuttle got out of service. And hotel called free Lyft for me to get to airport. Absolutely no public transportation or some other signs of human civilization exist in the vicinity. So you will depend from hotel shuttle to get to metro station. Only gas station available.

The property really needs to be updated. Cleanliness and room upgrades are needed. Terrible smell in the lobby area. Staff was great, they just need a better updated property. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

I'm a bit disappointed in our stay. We've stayed here before. It's been about two years since our last stay here. The parking is no longer free which sucks. There's signs everywhere to make sure you scan the QR code. The receptionist was not very welcoming. She had a bit of an attitude and had an AirPod in her ear. We had to switch rooms when we arrived since it smelled very bad like chemical or gas. The room we switched to was better but later that night we found out the sink was clogged. We called the front desk for the onsite engineer and the engineer never came. I tried calling the front desk several times but they never answered. The breakfast was okay, it's been better in the past. Overall, the stay was not good as we expected. We booked this hotel because in the past, it was great and our stay felt like home. I'm not sure if there's been changes with the mangement but I will not be coming back here again.

I am a very savvy world traveler, and I know a good hotel when I see it. Hyatt House Sterling/Dulles is a fine hotel, but there are some simple things you can do to improve customer experience. For starters, you are digitally intrusive in your heavy reliance of scanning of QR codes, which are notoriously easy to hack. Also, a traveler should be able to stroll into their hotel room and instantly turn on their TV to relax, via either live TV, cable/satellite or streaming. You have chosen to once again intrude on your guest's digital privacy and security by requiring software to be downloaded in order to watch anything on the television set. I tried to do this on 2 different devices but was unsuccessful. It's pretty lame that I had no TV for my stay. I also used your WiFi and was greatly alarmed that there is no password requirement, making it a very very risky undertaking to use it. On another note, I did not receive expected room service on Tuesday, 2/25. Lastly, I went to checkout in-person at your front desk at 6AM 2/26, because my company (like many others) requires instantaneous receipts for business travel. Your desk clerk refused to give me a hard copy receipt, promising that I would receive one quickly by e-mail. That was over 8 hours ago, I have no receipt and you have put me in a bind with my company. Is it too much to ask to provide a hard copy receipt to any guest who asks for one? This place was a really nice stay, clean, comfy, staff made the beds and replaced towels every day. My only 2 issues. As someone who loves a good show before bed is the tv was glitchy and something kept bugging it out. My other is there is no complete door on the shower. Made it cold and weird. Either way I was comfortable in the bed, slept well, ate good breakfast. I'd return.

We booked this hotel thinking it was Hyatt place not house. We were exhausted and made a simple mistake. Less than an hour after we realized our mistake, we asked the hotel for grace to cancel and they flat out refused and said tough luck. Wow. Who doesn’t make mistakes? We went through Expedia who also asked for grace / a refund on our behalf to stay where we needed. Double no. Again, wow. I talked to Sunny (or Sonny) on the phone who rudely denied my request and laughed at me for my error and request. Suffice to say, abysmal customer service, unkind staff with no grace or kindness. Hyatt has lost my business. Don’t stay here. In a world of so many hotel choices, choose somewhere where they at a minimum show kindness.

The hotel, the room, and every staff member that we encountered was awesome…except for the GM, Diane. She was extremely rude and nasty when it was totally uncalled for. She truly berated us over a misunderstanding regarding a “late checkout” when we were already paying a late checkout fee. Phillip, Karen, and a young AA with glasses were GREAT employees! If Hyatt knew how comfortable Diane is with being rude to polite customers, she most likely would not have a job there anymore. Overall, the hotel and location are great. The GM is what would make you want to take your business elsewhere!

Reservation was made through hotels.com. Guest called hotel to inform that due to flight delay arrival at hotel would be at 1 :30 am. Hotel front desk informed that 1 reservation was not paid and 2 it would be cancelled at midnight unless payment was made and a CC provided before midnight. Customer rep from hotels.com called and confirmed reservation was paid and a CC was provided before arrival of guest for incidentals. Hotel ended up charging CC provided 2 charges for the total of cost of room. Upon check out Guest asked hotel to remove those charges. As of today chsrges still on CC statement.

Television didn't work ,air conditioning didn't work contacted front desk, wasn't resolved. Went out at 9a m returned at 6pm room had not been cleaned was told they didn't have anyone in housekeeping too do it. My rate was to include parking but they charged me 20 dollars I was so fed up I just left , PS breakfast was not worth going to

Had to stay because of a cancelled flight. Danielle was AMAZING in helping us get from the airport (multiple people and trips) to the hotel. My husband and son arrived an hour before me and when I came in she had my key ready and a big smile. So thankful I had her in my corner helping get us there and checked in!!!

Driving to the entrance of the hotel was very unpleasant. You have a gas station on the right and a truck parking lot on the left. Once you pass all of that it is not bad. If I were the hotel I would construct a large fence on both sides because you feel like you are in the ghetto. The view from the window was the same, a truck parking lot. The carpet in the elevator is stained and frayed and needs to be replaced. I was not happy that there was no safe in the room. The breakfast area looked sterile, like a public school cafeteria. Most similarly priced hotels have much nicer bars and breakfast areas. I have also never paid for parking at a hotel in Sterling. That should be mentioned up front.

Called the hotel for the shuttle and had to wait a little while because we had missed the previous shuttle by a few minutes but the front desk sent it back out again to get us right away so it wasn't a bad wait. The hotel is only about 5 minutes from the airport without traffic. I think the shuttle is normally scheduled to leave every half hour since the next day we caught it back to the airport on the half hour. The breakfast had a good variety of food but when I first arrived they hadn't replenished it so had to wait a bit for more food to come. They were very prompt at tearing it down at the end which didn't leave us a lot of time to eat so just keep that in mind. The room was good with a king bed and pull out sofa. There was quite a bit of traffic noise in the room, it might have been the side we were on. A sheetz was next door so it was easy to get food and drinks.

Not a bad place but I was hoping that since it has a good review rating it would be better. There was a dirty sock under the tv stand so that was a turn off but the rest of the place was clean. Also, the bar was closed the weekend which two things I looked for were pool and bar. Not bad like I said, but probably won’t stay again. Oh and you pay for parking which is random for the location

The room was spacious and the kitchenette was really well stocked (pots, pans, storage containers, etc). The bed and linens were really comfortable. The gym was a standard bare bones hotel gym. The only downside was breakfast. It felt like an afterthought.

My initial review was that the breakfast provided was subpar. I believe it provided to the hotel management because the quality, quantity and selection improved significantly. The beds weren't very comfortable to us, but is a personal preference. Nearly all of the desk and cleaning staff was wonderful. The significant exception was one of the older, male desk clerk who didn't seem to like anyone.
