We really enjoyed our three days at the Market, from an easy Metro ride in from BCN to its great location with a major grocery one block away, easy Metro and bus connections and a vibrant neighbourhood. It’s an old building but well maintained — our room was perfectly made up each day — but walls are thin so you can hear things. Great shower! We dined in one night and the fixed menu was a deal, but this is Barcelona! No shortage of good eating, great walking and atmosphere. A “Hola” card lets you zoom anywhere. Just beware the pickpocket “teams” that are everywhere but thick on the subway. We lost nothing to them but caught four trying to steal from us just coming in from the airport! A great place to stay!

The main ground floor area of the hotel was engaging and fun. Very creative in design. The food and beverages offered in the restaurant were very good and reasonably priced. The accommodation was very comfortable. I will happily stay here again.

Room is tiny and much older, plain, and fairly unpleasant compared to photos and descriptions. Staff is very nice. In-house dining is terrible, but bartender is super friendly and made me the very best lemon drop martini that I ever had. Parking garage is around the corner, short walk.

We chose a basic room with twin beds. Cheapest bc we were planning a long trip. This hotel was probably built a couple hundred years ago. The room was large, with NO windows, only two air vents. However, the beds were SO COMFORTABLE!!!! And two doubles, too. Rainhead shower about 6.5' tall. Great location. Right by San Antonio market and 3 blocks from Hop On/Hop Off Bus stop. 2 blocks to airport shuttle. Restaurant attached was delicious. Highly recommend.

This was OK for an overnight stay on our way out of Barcelona. I liked the location and neighborhood. This probably was a very nice hotel at some point, but seems to have been neglected and needs a refresh. There was mold in the bathroom and other areas where a fresh coat of paint would be needed. For the price I would have expected more. The bed was comfortable though … strange TV set up behind mirrored glass.

Loved the interior of the hotel and the bed was comfy. Drains weren’t good as let off an eggy smell and the walls were that thin you could hear ants walking. Hear doors closing, people using the toilets and what the rooms next door were getting up to. Was a shame as had high hopes for when saw the hotel!

Todo bien, limpio y cuidado, lo único es que en mi habitación el baño no terminaba de ventilar olores, quizás deberían revisar los sifones. Por todo lo demás genial, situación, tranquilo, bien comunicado cerca del centro y en un barrio muy bueno. Sin duda volveré y lo recomiendo.

Ce que je reproche à l'hôtel c'est l'accueil au chek in qu'on a reçu un homme qui ne fait aucun effort limite agressif dès notre arriver, ensuite dans la nuit une autre personne se cachant derrière son pc inexistant. Bref nous avons preferez éviter le petit déjeuner par peur de rencontrer le reste du personnel identique La chambre un peu viellote, mal insonorisé mais ce qu'il m'a choqué le plus c'est l'état des climatiseur les filtres plein un entretien est urgent, la il est impératif pour la santé des clients ! I found the downstairs area with the restaurant to be nice. But going upstairs to the hotels was a different story. The actual hotel rooms were not depicted clearly on the website. The rooms were very old and seemed like an older building that never got remodeled. The walls are paper thin and I could hear everything in the hallway outside my door as well as in the rooms next to me. The only way I could sleep was with earbuds in my ears playing something overnight. There were also no coffee makers, fridges, or microwaves in the rooms. It wasnt a horrible place to stay. It was decent, but I wanted to leave my honest review to help others, because these are things I would've wanted to know.

The initial staff was nice and gave me a suggestion while I waited for my room to be ready when I got back I was put in a room that didn’t have the AC going and it took hours for it to cool it down at all. I don’t understand why the AC wouldn’t be on for a room to be assigned in advance. The bed was like laying in an oven. Sad. I normally don’t write anything good or bad but I couldn’t sleep well. To me that is the primary purpose of a hotel. Comfortable to sleep. Live and learn.

Decent location, not in the best part of Barcelona. Decent places to eat. The air conditioner was ridiculously loud, so it was hard to sleep, and took forever to cool down the room. The place was older and charming, but it was the A/C noise made it really hard to like the place. The bathroom was clean, the bed was fairly comfortable.

Check in was horrendous and they had only 1 person on reception when I arrived. They were checking in about 7 people as a group but one at a time. I had to go for lunch as I would have been waiting ages. The rooms were really noisy with no sound proofing and hard wooden floors so you could constantly hear foot steps. Breakfast was very average. I accept this is a 3 star hotel but when you pay over €1,000 for 2 nights, this should be a lot better

Everyone working at reception was absolutely fabulous. The rooms, especially the bathroom was even prettier and more luxurious than it looks in the pictures. Truly cannot wait to stay there again!

The Market Hotel is a comfortable place to stay and is located in a lovely neighborhood in the Sants-Montjuic district. There are many cafes, shops, and restaurants within a short walking distance, and public transportation is readily accessible. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are not soundproof and I was at times disturbed by loud chatter and music from people in adjacent rooms. Most of the time, though, the room was quiet and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony outside and reading books. The historic Mercat de Sant Antoni, a large building containing many clothing and food shops, is only half a block away.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful when I had questions After a long flight from Western Canada, having a restaurant as good as market downstairs in the hotel was heaven sent I also had breakfast there the next day It’s a great option - But after that, I ventured out into the neighbourhood where there are lots of friendly neighborhood, restaurants It’s easy to get around as it’s a subway station And honestly, you can just walk!

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect! Clean, comfortable and close to restaurants, cafes and only 10 min walk to gothic quarter. We’re happy we decided on a room with a balcony!

Generally very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. However, there was no sound isolation between the rooms or the outside, so we heard screaming and shouting from somewhere(children) around 2 am, which made sleeping difficult, as we had a baby with us. Also, there were so many fruit flies at the breakfast buffet. While I know that doesn't necessarily mean it's unsanitary, it made the experience in satisfying. They didn't seem like they tried to do anything about it. I was aware that it was some walking(20 mins ish) to the city centre, and therefore thought it would be more quiet, but compared to the stay we did on La Rambla the weekend before, it was more noisy at the Hotel Market.

Friendly staff and helpful with a change of room since was given a honeymoon room instead of a double twin room. Could have been cleaner, dust on floor edges and walls need paint touch ups. Bed mattresses were not comfortable. Only one mirror in bathroom, none in room. Breakfast was good and had a nice spread. Not the best area to stay in to see the tourist attractions. Ubers take forever, you have better luck if you just flag a taxi down.
