The main issue with the place is poor ventilation. So it smells musty Also the room only had one place to sit other than the beds which were waist high. At breakfast, they ran out of eggs and potatos by 8am, as well as plastic forks. Also you are not allowed to bring food up to your room from the breakfast area. Otherwise beds where comfortable and the room clean.

This MainStay is a work in progress. Maintenance storage was in at least two rental rooms on the first floor, both open to public view with all manner of equipment and materials strewn about. There was some blockage being worked on (sewage pipe?) and maintenance had extended a rubber hose 0-70’ down the hall with no warning/watch your step signs. Maintenance work in the unit and hall lasted well past 7PM. The room was smaller than previously experienced at MainStay. The refrigerator was a mini with a small freezer compartment and the microwave was mounted in a cabinet next to the fridge. It was hardly a galley kitchen. Most concerning were the entrances at either side of the motel. Doors were unmarked and looked like maintenance or utility entrances: there was nothing at either to indicate “enter” and once in, we were faced with a couple of chairs and some minor equipment stored in the space next to the stairs. The whole area needed cleaning, painting, brightening. The metal door threshold made it problematic to wheel a luggage cart thru the door. The main portico near the front desk can only accommodate one car: it is too narrow to park while allowing a second car to proceed. After experiencing a wonderful MainStay in Tampa, this was a real letdown

The room itself was actually pretty nice. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we didn't have any issues with the room itself. What threw us off was the overall atmosphere of the hotel. It seemed like there were quite a few long-term guests, and it wasn't unusual to see people walking around the halls in pajamas or other around-the-house clothes. Everyone we encountered was polite, but it gave the place more of an apartment or extended-stay feel than a hotel you'd book for a vacation. If you're just looking for a clean place to sleep for the night, it gets the job done. We were just expecting more of a normal hotel experience, and the overall vibe wasn't really what we were looking for. For us, it was only a one-night stop, and we were glad that was the case.

Our booked room was not available upon check in. Offered two options. Chose the one most similar to our booking. Smelled of cigarette smoke so asked to move to other option. Walked us to room to check it out before we selected it. Smelled fine. Bed, toilet, shower, sink clean. Floors and carpets not clean. Breakfast as expected but no one cleaning up after guests ate so all tables were dirty. Would not stay here again.
