Website very misleading! They were under renovation which was badly needed. Pool was under construction which we wanted to use. Room smelled. No phone to call front desk. Kitchen closed so no breakfast as advertised. Fan in bath broken. Had I not prepaid with no refund I would have cancelled and left! They also charged a pet fee that was not listed on Expedia site and a $50 incidental charge in case you damage something. The outside security door did not lock so anyone could enter the hotel and have access to rooms. Therefore the hotel was not a safe hotel. Very disappointed in this hotel don’t waste your $

The pool was cold, no hot tub its been down since last year when we stayed. No bar, it was closed even tho it was hopping last year when we stayed. The entire building was cold no heat throughout. The stay over all sucked.

The hotel was beginning a rehab, so the pool, sauna, lazy river, arcade and breakfast were not available, even though it was advertised as such. The outside of the hotel was very run down and the bath mat was wet, even though we didn't take a shower. We would like a full refund of the cost of the room since the hotel didn't deliver the amenities we were promised, since that is why we booked the room in the first place. We had planned to spend the next morning using the amenities, but instead had to find our own breakfast. The hotel should have been closed down for renovations. We would not stay there again.

The hotel is under construction. You can tell there has been issues since the flood a few years ago but they are working on things. My room was completely redone and very nice. The pool area or main area is very humid which causes a little smell. Channel guides would have been nice but that was the only inconvenience

Clean, bit run down, bed comfy, pool was freezing couldnt use. Has great potential to be brought back to its glory days!!! Beautiful wood work thru out, pool area is amazing just not usable due to freezing water. Great for a cheaper over night stay, will stay again.

Pool was not open and in fact was flooding all over the main floor. Entire hotel smelled like sewer. Workers were vacuuming at 11pm. No food, kitchen was “under construction”. My key was shut off and I was locked out of my room. Hotel was very loud! When we left water was pouring from the ceiling! The doors to get into the building were not secure and they did not lock! You also had to carry all bags up the actual stairs, they had no elevators! SO trashy! DO NOT STAY HERE!

In the process of renovating. The room was clean overall, but the tv didn’t work to actually watch any shows. The hallways and our neighbors were extremely loud around 2:00am (no fault of the staff) but there is no soundproofing. There was no breakfast available at this time, and the heater in the pool was out. I am sure it will be much nicer when the work is done.

The room was not clean. There were stains on the comforter. The only way to describe this place is: polished turd. You could tell it had been painted recently, yet there were rusted out spots on the door frames. The towel rack was falling off the wall. The shower was disgusting and needed caulked. The door was not self-closing and it was located in a sketchy area, making me question my safety. It may have flooded recently as they had fans going throughout the main areas. The pool looked ok, but I didn't want to risk getting sick after seeing how dirty and not maintained the rest of the facility was. It was a neat building and could be amazing if someone gutted the place and started fresh.

This was the worst hotel that I have stayed in in the world. We checked in Sat 26 Jul 25 and out 28 Jul 2025. The common areas ( dinning area tables and floor, hallways and stair carpet) were not clean when we checked in and were not cleaned while we were there. Our room floor was so dirty that I would not walk on it barefooted, the bathroom door would not close and the blackout curtain was broken. The grounds and parking area had weeds, butts and trash all over. We will not be back. Roger Day

This hotel is under renovation and in all honesty should not be open during the process. There is construction equipment and other items throughout the hotel. The outside of the hotel looks like the weeds, dirt, etc. haven't been touched in forever. When going to our room, the outside door to the hotel did not require a key, which is not safe. There was a bad storm and the rooms flooded and pool area backed up, leaving the pool closed. Unpleasant smell throughout the hotel (mold, damp). Our room was renovated and clean upon arrival. Staff did not take concerns into account and other people within our group did not get compensated for conditions of their room. The health department and code inspectors should be looking into this property!

Overall it was a great stay! I had my dog with me and he did a great job. The grounds have a lot of stickers that get stuck in dog feet with every step they take. It was difficult finding a good place for him to go to the bathroom. The bathroom did not have a fan, so we were stuck with the shower humidity. The doors don’t have a slow close on them and you will hear every door slam. The bedding was put on sideways, so when you wake up and your feet aren’t covered or you’re wrapped in a sheet… that’s why.

Hotels.com allowed booking of a room the hotel did not even offer! Reserved a 2 bed suite with a pullout couch the hotel did not have such a room. The hotel change us to two standard rooms so 4 beds at no extra charge,

They were remodeling the hotel, carpet torn up, pool not working, no breakfast and when we checked in we got charged $50 for deposit which was fine but then they charged us another $50 for the same thing. They say it does that with the system but they didn’t explain that at check in. The only real positive thing I can say is the lady that checked us in was super sweet and very friendly. She even gave our kids free fruit snacks. Was very disappointed there was nothing on the website saying they were remodeling.

No elevator. Room on second floor; hadn’t stayed in a 2+ level hotel without an elevator or given a first floor room. I have leg braces and use a cane; Clerk was rude and not accommodating. Staircase railing was unsteady and wobbly. 2 partial bottles of shampoo, no conditioner. A hairdryer with metal plate and screws was lying on the bathroom counter uninstalled…hazard. Coffee pot was too dirty to use. Overall, a negative experience. Won’t be using a Choice Hotel unless there is no choice!

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a hotel stay! We checked in and left our things in room as my daughter wanted to check out the pool which was out of service! When we returned, my room key would not work, we tried several keys and finally the attendant tried the master key to learn it didn't work either. They needed to get a 'maintenance person' on site to fix door. We were locked out of our room with all of our stuff inside for over 2 hours!!! It was like we were being held hostage! I will never stay again nor will I recommend this place to anyone I care about!

Our room floor was so dirty that I would not walk on it barefooted, the bathroom door would not close and the blackout curtain was broken. Website very misleading! They were under renovation which was badly needed. Pool was under construction which we wanted to use. Room smelled. No phone to call front desk. Kitchen closed so no breakfast as advertised. Fan in bath broken. Had I not prepaid with no refund I would have cancelled and left! They also charged a pet fee that was not listed on Expedia site and a $50 incidental charge in case you damage something. The outside security door did not lock so anyone could enter the hotel and have access to rooms. Therefore the hotel was not a safe hotel. Very disappointed in this hotel don’t waste your $

This hotel is under renovation and in all honesty should not be open during the process. There is construction equipment and other items throughout the hotel. The outside of the hotel looks like the weeds, dirt, etc. haven't been touched in forever. When going to our room, the outside door to the hotel did not require a key, which is not safe. There was a bad storm and the rooms flooded and pool area backed up, leaving the pool closed. Unpleasant smell throughout the hotel (mold, damp). Our room was renovated and clean upon arrival. Staff did not take concerns into account and other people within our group did not get compensated for conditions of their room. The health department and code inspectors should be looking into this property!

We cancelled our reservation upon arrival. Building is in desperate need of repairs. Lobby area is clean, however whe. You look around the corner there are boxes and crates stacked everywhere. Pool is not in working condition either. Staff was friendly and assisted me in canceling reservation. Our entire family felt disgusted upon arrival. First impressions last, and pulling up to this property was not the first impression one expected after seeing photos posted online. Landscape and lawn are are not high on list of priorities nor is building upkeep.

Pool was not open and in fact was flooding all over the main floor. Entire hotel smelled like sewer. Workers were vacuuming at 11pm. No food, kitchen was “under construction”. My key was shut off and I was locked out of my room. Hotel was very loud! When we left water was pouring from the ceiling! The doors to get into the building were not secure and they did not lock! You also had to carry all bags up the actual stairs, they had no elevators! SO trashy! DO NOT STAY HERE!

This hotel changed ownership and is still terrible. It used to be one of the best hotels in town. Now it is a complete disaster. 3/4 of the main floor around the pool and bar were flooded. There hasn’t been a breakfast option in over a year. Can’t remember the last time the bar was open. Updates to rooms show little improvement and shoddy work at best.

I felt like it was a nice hotel. Was sad the Elephant Eye was closed. Even though they are renovating and updating our stay was amazing. Great customer services when checking in and out.

The hotel was beginning a rehab, so the pool, sauna, lazy river, arcade and breakfast were not available, even though it was advertised as such. The outside of the hotel was very run down and the bath mat was wet, even though we didn't take a shower. We would like a full refund of the cost of the room since the hotel didn't deliver the amenities we were promised, since that is why we booked the room in the first place. We had planned to spend the next morning using the amenities, but instead had to find our own breakfast. The hotel should have been closed down for renovations. We would not stay there again.

In the process of renovating. The room was clean overall, but the tv didn’t work to actually watch any shows. The hallways and our neighbors were extremely loud around 2:00am (no fault of the staff) but there is no soundproofing. There was no breakfast available at this time, and the heater in the pool was out. I am sure it will be much nicer when the work is done.

DO NOT STAY This hotel has mold in it. My daughter and I have asthma and could not spend the night due to all the mold. It was setting off our asthma. Their is mold on the ceiling tiles it’s everywhere we took photos showed the front desk lady and they would not refund our money. We were in the room for less that 10 min and we were having troubles breathing we didn’t stay and had to get another hotel. This place was so disgusting. Ironing board had stains , ceiling stained with mold spots. The door had no chain or lock so we could not lock it. I took photos put it in an email and they still won’t refund me. Also when we got there I had to move the fed x boxes to get to the front desk to check in at that time I asked for a refund then and she said she could not do that for me at checking in. This place needs torn down. I was told they redone the hotel nope this place has major issues. It needs to be shut down. Health concerns all over this place.

Kids had been in vehicle for 13 hours and looked forward to the hotel but it was so dirty, smelt musty, pool had dirty sock laying around it, water bottle in the water, dirty sand/rock at the bottom. So we left, we contacted manager and they refused a refund. Needless to say we were very disappointed.
