They charge 5 francs per hour for using the onsite washer and dryer. The dryer is a complete scam and it doesn’t dry clothes at all. We had a small load of clothes to dry and after 2 hours of drying, it was still soaking wet, staying exactly how it came out of the washer. So by the time you realize that the dryer doesn’t work at all, you will be out of pocket at least 20 francs, and of course, left wondering how to return home with the load of wet clothes in your luggage.

This is a perfect Alpine chalet style hotel with excellent service from all the staff. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with a good selection of breads, cheese, fruits, etc and dinner in the restaurant was terrific. The hotels WiFi was fast and few perks for travelers were the washer/dryer, parking, sauna, etc. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends. Our only minor complaint is it is a little tricky to find using GPS so a few more signs would be helpful! Love this place!!!!!!

Alpenhof is a lovely little hotel nestled just a short walk uphill from Grindelwald Station. It offers everything you need for a great stay in this beautiful alpine village. The location is central and convenient, with easy access to everything from First to Interlaken. The rooms are clean and cozy, the on-site restaurant is very good, and there’s parking available right in front of the hotel. For those traveling by electric car, charging facilities are also available. A great base for exploring the region!

Hotel is near at the train station but the hotel is by the hill. Van service is available for free from and to train station to and from hotel. Call receptionist to inform ahead of time. Staffs are friendly, room is clean, and breakfast is good. The bathroom is clean but smells like urine. Maybe the mop’s head needs to be changed.

Such a cozy and warm place. The views are amazing. It was a little dusty when we got there, and the dinning options are good. I would recommend staying here! They have ski storage and transportation to the train station which is a plus. The staff are very nice and friendly!! Very much enjoyed my stayed here.

This was one of our favorite hotels on our rail trip through Switzerland! We visited during the last weekend before the fall tourist slow down. (Businesses and restaurants close for a month before ski season.) The hotel was clean and we were upgraded to a suite. The view of all the snowcapped mountains from our balcony was gorgeous. Breakfast was bountiful! There were many choices for us. The hotel also allowed us to leave our luggage with them after check out so that we could go sightseeing before our evening train departure. Our two regrets were that we couldn't stay more than one night and we couldn't eat more for breakfast! ;-) We highly recommend Hotel Alpenhof and will stay there again if we return to Gridelwald.

We love Hotel Alpenhof. The staff was very accommodating. Breakfast staff was very welcoming and made us very good coffee. Our room was spacious, newly renovated with an amazing view. The room was so comfortable. I Everything was sparkling clean. We love the high tech sauna. The location is perfect. We were sad to leave. Only minor issues we had was the squeaky bed and the limited breakfast. The croissants weren’t good. No fresh fried eggs. Only hard boiled and scrambled egged. No nuts for the muesli and yogurt.

O hotel está em uma subida íngreme, mas é próximo à estação de trem. A vista da varanda é espetacular! O café da manhã é simples, porém gostoso: ovos, café, iogurtes, frios e pães. A limpeza é excelente. O quarto é amplo, cama e travesseiro confortáveis. O banheiro é bem pequeno, porém é funcional. O atendimento é muito atencioso! Recomendo 100%.

The building is old, but is extremely well kept and clean. The view from our room was AMAZING! The staff was wonderful, and Margarit was extremely accommodating. It was a short walk to downtown as well as to the train station to move around the Junfrau region easily. Dining at the restaurant was a very pleasant surprise with very good food and wine after hiking all day. Note though that there is a short but significant uphill walk from the train station or down town to the hotel.

The view from this hotel is fantastic but make note if you have mobility issues. The property is very close to town but there is a steep road to walk up/down. Our bed was comfortable & our room was spacious with a balcony. The breakfast was fantastic for both the selection of food & the service.

J’ai séjourné 4 nuits dans une chambre supérieure avec un balcon et avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes. J’ai tout aimé de cet hôtel. Il est légèrement en retrait de la rue principale donc c’est tranquille et paisible. Il est à proximité de la gare mais la pente est plutôt raide pour monter à l’hôtel. L’hôtel n’est pas moderne mais à tout le charme rustique de la Suisse. C’est propre et bien entretenu. Le lit est confortable, la chambre supérieure est spacieuse en plus du petit coin salon mais le meilleur est le balcon et la vue! Je voulais relaxer et profiter des couchers de soleil sur mon balcon à chaque jour. J’y suis allé en août, j’ai survécu sans air climatisé le soir en ouvrant les fenêtres. C’est plus frais en montagne et ça se rafraîchit quand même rapidement le soir. Le petit déjeuner est excellent avec des produits de qualité de la région . Merci au personnel attentionné et professionnel! Il y a un mini frigo et une cafetière ce qui est très apprécié! C’est vraiment un coup de coeur pour moi et je vais revenir assurément.

The hotel is very nice and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and the views are incredible. We don’t ski but for those who do this is a great spot. We couldn’t park on property because we didn’t install the snow chains but there’s a parking garage right across the street so it workout for us. I am extremely satisfied with their hospitality and I would definitely be staying again if I come back.

This is very traditional Swiss hotel with amazing views. It is close to everything but a little bit of hike up from the main road. There is free parking available. Our room was large and comfortable but the bathroom was small. The furniture looks worn. The breakfast was good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all a very good stay in Grindelwald.

Place is fantastic with good view .. although it’s quite uphill walk it is accessible to everything . Location is great ! No air conditioning for summertime is quite cumbersome , although you can open window and provide you with a fan .

隣の部屋の物音が聞こえることがありますが、それ以外は静かで清潔でした。有料でランドリーも使用できました。4泊したので無料で駅まで送って貰えました。(駅まですぐですが、かなり急な坂です) 真正面にアイガー北壁がそびえ立ち、バルコニーからの景色は最高です！

Excellent chalet experience a very short walk to the Grindelwald train station (and onward to the Jungfraujoch from there). Nice rooms with pleasant views, decent breakfast. Small bathrooms and showers though.

We had a great stay at Alpenhof in Grindelwald. The hotel is uphill from the main street which makes it quieter and improves the views. The staff was welcoming & friendly. We loved the daily breakfast. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a nice balcony with a great view.

This is a perfect Alpine chalet style hotel with excellent service from all the staff. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast with a good selection of breads, cheese, fruits, etc and dinner in the restaurant was terrific. The hotels WiFi was fast and few perks for travelers were the washer/dryer, parking, sauna, etc. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends. Our only minor complaint is it is a little tricky to find using GPS so a few more signs would be helpful! Love this place!!!!!!

Such a wonderful, charming place. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was perfect. The staff is amazing and super friendly. We loved our stay in Grindelwald, and more specifically Hotel Alpenhof. The view is nothing short of amazing!!! 100% recommend this hotel.

Just amazing. I was blown away by the great hospitality at this hotel. Also in awe of the view of the Eiger! First thing you see waking up and last thing before going to sleep. The connected restaurant is also really good. Ate there both nights of my stay. My only regret is that I didnt book this place for more days, but I guess that is just an excuse to returrn. Thanks!

The hosts were exceptional. They answered all of our questions and guided us to what we needed for a hike and for shopping. The washing maching wasn't working properly so they did it for us, they even provided a drying rack.

The view from this hotel is fantastic but make note if you have mobility issues. The property is very close to town but there is a steep road to walk up/down. Our bed was comfortable & our room was spacious with a balcony. The breakfast was fantastic for both the selection of food & the service.

The alpenhof has a wonderful outlook towards the Eiger and is also close to Grindelwald station and the main street. Our large room had a wonderful view from the balcony, was well laid out, warm, the beds comfortable and the bathroom functional. There was a little table and sufficient bench space. All the staff were very friendly. The breakfast buffet was hosted in quite a small space which led to some overcrowding in the mornings. The breakfast selection was nice particularly the local cheeses. The host took hot drink orders but you had to remember to ask for scrambled eggs (Ruhrei) as there wasn't space for the usual bain-marie. Downside was that to get the wonderful balcony view you have to walk up a steep hill so if you are fit and/or have light luggage then no issues. The restaurant was closed while we were staying. Overall very enjoyable as was Grindelwald and the Jungfrau region

Charming stay with amazing mountain view’s. Amenities were wonderful including the sauna room. Walkable distance to downtown Grindelwald and the terminal station for the mountain cable cars. Breakfast in the morning was great too.

We love Hotel Alpenhof. The staff was very accommodating. Breakfast staff was very welcoming and made us very good coffee. Our room was spacious, newly renovated with an amazing view. The room was so comfortable. I Everything was sparkling clean. We love the high tech sauna. The location is perfect. We were sad to leave. Only minor issues we had was the squeaky bed and the limited breakfast. The croissants weren’t good. No fresh fried eggs. Only hard boiled and scrambled egged. No nuts for the muesli and yogurt.

The building is old, but is extremely well kept and clean. The view from our room was AMAZING! The staff was wonderful, and Margarit was extremely accommodating. It was a short walk to downtown as well as to the train station to move around the Junfrau region easily. Dining at the restaurant was a very pleasant surprise with very good food and wine after hiking all day. Note though that there is a short but significant uphill walk from the train station or down town to the hotel.

Our room had a balcony with a spectacular view of the mountain. The room was nice. We could hear the room next door move furniture, but it was not bad. The hotel was very close to downtown, but seemed like in the countryside. We highly recommend this hotel

The hotel staff were very friendly. Our room was on the 4th floor. It was large with two rooms, a table and four chairs. Tv in each room . The room was clean and tidy. There were two doors out onto the balcony which has most beautiful Mountain View. There was plenty of choice for breakfast. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, the location was slightly uphill and close to the shops, restaurants and only a short walk to the train station. The views were amazing and we would come back if we came to Grindelwald again.
