Stayed at the hotel Thursday to sunday cost £485 which isn't cheap by any means hotel is well dated and old fashioned needs a major refurbished all over the photos on line are nothing like what i seen at the hotel the decking around the pool is shambolic paint work is flakeing away the steps into the pool are dangerous and far to steep if you are a elderly person + work was been carried outside the hotel big digger machine breaking out concrete all day wasn't informed whilst we were checking in about work being done out side hotel rooms i stayed on level 2 room was ok single bed and breakfast was a 2/10 wouldn't stop there again to expensive for what is

Not as good as expected. Lack of wardrobe space for 2, nowhere to hang your towel for coming out of shower, awkward navigation of the hotel especially as higher level lift not operational. The front desk staff were a bit stuffy and rarely had a smile on their face, except one of the younger lads who was the only one who seemed to be enjoying working there.

Solo traveller - I was in one of the single rooms that are below the pool. For what I paid it was great, breakfast was very good (lovely donuts), pool was nice, room service was great and pleasant. I also used the gym sauna and steam, all were fine (although the steam not very hot). Like others have said, the 'blue gate' is good as it saves alot of effort getting up the hill to the front door from town. Some lovely views and sitting areas around reception and the pool. No complaints from me!

The library is a great edition to swap books with a wide variety in many languages. Able to walk both to the old town and marina although the walk back could be challenging in regard to hills and stairs if you were not fit. The only really disappointing thing was you had to pay extra to use the safe in your room, I have never had to do this before.

An amazing location high atop hill overlooking Albufiera old town and beach. Room was adequate and we enjoyed the balcony, pool area and especially the excellent breakfast bar. Self-parking was very convenient. Cons would be the broken elevator, bathroom was dated and the bed was quite uncomfortable. Front desk very friendly and helpful.

L’hôtel Boavista à Albufeira bénéficie d’une très belle vue et d’un excellent emplacement, c’est incontestablement son point fort. Cependant, j’ai été déçu par plusieurs aspects, notamment en rapport avec le prix (179 €/nuit) qui ne correspond pas du tout aux prestations proposées. Il y avait des travaux à proximité, avec du bruit dès 7h30 jusqu’à 18h, rendant le repos quasiment impossible. Sur deux jours de notre séjour, les bassins ont ouvert en retard : le mercredi vers 10h30 et le samedi à 10h au lieu de 9h, après le nettoyage. Nous avions aussi pris un rendez-vous au spa à 10h, mais personne n’était présent. Après 15 minutes d’attente, nous sommes repartis, déçus. Le petit déjeuner manquait de variété, et les jus de fruits étaient industriels, ce qui est regrettable pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Globalement, une belle structure, mais des prestations qui ne suivent pas, et une gestion à revoir. Dommage.

De havde lavet lidt rod med vores booking, så vi blev opgraderet. Vi skulle bytte værelse undervejs - det var lidt træls, men heldigvis dag 2 så vi ikke havde pakket meget ud. Fantasktisk udsigt ud over hele stranden i Albufeira. De havde parkingskælder med 12 pladser - der er dog ikke lys i parkeringskælderen, hvilket var lidt mærkeligt. Vi var uheldige at byen mistede sit vand en aften, det varikke hotellets skyld, men de var ikke så gode til at informere om hvad der skete og virkede ikke til at være så opdaterede. Deres sauna og tyrkisk bad er rimelig basic og du skal få dem til at betjene det. Det er lidt træls man ikke selv kunne gøre det.

Negatives were road works right outside and air con not working. First room allocated was not good but moved to a much better room. Positives were staff, cleanliness, views, location.

The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful. The bed was a bit to firm and uncomfortable and the pool area needed more sun beds. The hotel is situated up above the main town and is a steep walk. Taxis would be needed for the return from town. Overall a nice hotel

I was a bit worried when I was reading reviews but our room was perfect very clean . The full hotel is very clean and welcoming . We only arrived back today and are looking to book this hotel for October . Breakfast is excellent also something for everyone . You won’t be dissatisfied with this hotel location quiet easy to walk to centre pool lovely and prices at the bar are good also

It began with the uncomfortable smell on arrival. No air conditioning despite it saying there was. A fan was provided on day two but just blew hot air around. Rooms were very out dated. Positives: breakfast was acceptable. No further positives

Old style hotel the whole place needs a refurb. Room was clean but the bathroom has seen better days. Shower head I don’t think has ever been cleaned and the wood on the sides of the sink look worn. Old style air con and furniture was old looking. Breakfast was awful. Cheeses/cold meats all left out with no ice underneath so the cheeses/meats looked sweaty and flies flying around. The orange juice was glowing orange more like squash, awful flavour. The pool didn’t look clean and there seemed to be a resident seagull flying around all the time. The only positive was the staff on reception. I would not recommend this hotel.

Staff work incredibly hard to make guests as comfortable as possible, very clean hotel, we had a top floor room with amazing views.

If you like the sound of construction all day, absolutely no air conditioning (false promises that “today it will be fixed, promise!”, and enjoy finding cockroaches along every path, even in the building, and not to mention, constant doors slamming in the halls, sleepless nights, and lastly the constant stench of moisture and mold - then this is the place for you!

Great view, service, big nice bathroom and very clean! However the beds were very uncomfortable, rickety and hard. The rooms have poor sound insulation and I woke up to doors slamming every morning and knocking noises. The breakfast was perfectly fine but didn't feel hygienic, fish, cheese and other dairy products sit in front of you for hours without cooling. The man at the bar was absolutely fantastic and the cleaners did an amazing job and cleaned at very flexible hours!

The room was a nice size, aircon did not wor and neither the blinds on the windows. So hot room and up at dawn with sunshine blaring in.

Disappointing Room Quality in a Potentially Great Hotel. This hotel has a lot going for it, but unfortunately, the room quality significantly detracts from the overall experience. While the hotel is rated 4 stars, the rooms felt more like a 2-star accommodation (We stayed at a 2 star the night before and it had nicer rooms). We were consistently woken up by the sound of doors opening and closing throughout the night due to a complete lack of soundproofing. The room itself was small, and the bed was quite uncomfortable. On the positive side, the breakfast was great, offering a good variety and quality. The pool area was also fantastic, providing a relaxing space to unwind. The staff were excellent—friendly, helpful, and attentive. The location was superb, making it easy to explore the area. If this hotel were to renovate its rooms and address the soundproofing issues, it absolutely has the potential to be a true 4-star experience. However, as it stands, I would rate it closer to a 2.5-star hotel due to the poor room quality.

Construction was taking place outside which could at times be very loud. View of the ocean from the balcony was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was ok but the same option was given every day. Upon arrival reception staff was very miserable and we didn’t feel welcomed by staff overall. Not sure whether I would stay there again. They do have some eye catching and amazing pieces of furniture around the hotel

À éviter et voici pourquoi : l’air climatisé de l’ensemble de l’établissement ne fonctionnait pas et nous n’avons pas été avisé à notre arrivée. La première nuit a été suffocante , le temps qu’on se rende compte que ça ne fonctionnait pas , nous avons ouvert complètement la porte du balcon mais l’air n’entrait pas , nous n’avons pas dormi ! Le matelas est complètement fini , les meubles et accessoires vétustes ! Quand j’ai avisé la réception le lendemain matin , ils m’ont dit que c’est un problème pour tout le bâtiment et ils nous ont offert un ventilateur , ce qui est loin de notre critère de sélection d’une chambre avec air climatisé, ce pour quoi nous avions payé!

We had room 519, one of two suites on the roof (6th floor). Aka "Deluxe double room, sea view". Wonderful! The secluded outside terrace was as large as the apartment itself, fully private for sunbathing or just enjoying the expansive views of Albufeira. The interior of the apartment itself was a little tired, with loose wood segments of the parquet flooring going click-clacj as we tried on them. Bed was very firm, but we asked for a mattress topper, which softened things nicely. Two complaints: the sliding glass doors to the terrace need new wheels/bearings, and the external sun shutters rattled loudly in the wind, all night long on our final night. Like sleeping inside a steel drum. Staff were considerate and excellent all around. Parking was free and easy. The hotel garage was available (free except during the summer), but we used on-street parking just outside the hotel entrance. The breakfasts were excellent, with a large selection of items and two good automatic coffee machines. Off-seasob dinner was offered from a set menu, which we took for one of the evenings. The food was nice, but pricier than nearby (excellent) restaurants. Access down to the town and beach was easy, beginning with the steps from the hotel pool, and ending with the village elevator to the beach. Would stay here again, in the same room. Amazing.

The bad: The room was poorly laid out with the toilet and bidet on one side of the room and the shower and tub on the other. The furniture was shabby and worn. The lower level hallway that led to the tiny, uninspired bar apparently doubled as a storage closet, where rows of chairs were stacked and lined the area directly upon leaving the elevator. The good: There's a huge balcony with very pretty views of the sea. The impressive: the spread they put out for the complimentary breakfast is extensive; although that too was poorly laid out with a large wall divided the buffet, with 75% in one room and behind a wall the other 25%.

We stayed on the 5th floor, very nice sea view. No pegs in the room og bathroom. You have to pay for the safe, 2,6 euro/day in cash, If you pay in the evening, the time Will run out 11 am till the day you paid. Bed is noisy. There is cable TV and option for Screen mirroring which does not work on the 5th floor. The staff is tired, especially one elderly lady with light hair. Very unpleasant, she was nice in the beginning but if you asked her something or had a problem she was totally stressed out. Breakfast is average. Hotel is on a hill. At least 10 min stairs to the Beach.

We had no air conditioning and the fridge didn’t work. We asked for a double bed and was given two single beds. We complained about not having air conditioning and was given a fan. The fan was very noisy, it sounded like a washing machine all day and night. Was not offered any upgrade or apology for the inconvenience. Was not even asked how was our stay was. Seemed bothered by me telling him my complaints at the end.

A Trip Back in Time – The Worst Kind! My recent stay was a truly dismal experience, feeling less like a hotel visit and more like an unfortunate journey to the past – and not in a charming, nostalgic way. This place is woefully outdated, but without any of the character that might make an older establishment appealing. Every corner screams "neglect," making you feel like you've stepped into a forgotten era for all the wrong reasons. The issues started right in the room, particularly with the abysmal bathroom design. I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea, but the toilet was positioned so awkwardly that a wall was practically in front of you. You literally couldn't sit properly, making a basic necessity an uncomfortable and frankly, ridiculous ordeal. However, the worst part of my stay was undoubtedly the service, or lack thereof. The receptionist was incredibly rude and seemed to have no concept of customer care. On my departure day, with a flight to catch, a task that should take less than five minutes. Instead, he left me waiting for over 30 minutes while he leisurely chatted with newly arrived guests. His complete disregard for my time meant I was overcharged by the taxi due to the excessive waiting and, consequently, had to rush to the airport, adding immense stress to what should have been a straightforward departure.

My partner and I had a fantastic time in Albufeira, celebrating our 25th year anniversary! Jorge at the hotel gave a 5 star service, always very helpful and jovial who gave us room 509 with an absolute magnificent sea view! They served very fresh and varied buffet breakfast, with both English and continental choices and more. The hotel is about 12-15 minutes walk from the old town center. It is a bit up hill going back to the hotel, but Uber cars are very cheap and always readily available. We would not hesitate to go back again! Claudia and Paul

After a slight mishap with being given the wrong room, we were able to move the second day. The hotel is old but charming. The staff was very friendly. The location is perfect, 10 (or less) to old town and about 10 minutes to the marina.

I travelled all the way from Delhi to be with a friend, who was celebrating her 40th birthday. I booked accommodation at the same hotel and booked a ‘Deluxe Suite’ on the topmost floor. AI reached the property at about 9 PM on a Friday evening. After checking in, 'Anna' the lady at the Front Office, helped me lug my rather heavy suitcase the last two floors and unlocked the door for me. The suite was lavish as lavish can be and from another era. The washroom reminded me of ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’. The terrace was mindbogglingly huge with two sets of loungers and tea tables for two at both end for a cosy conversation and was just the place to soak in the sun and the surf, with endless views of the ocean stretching across the horizon. The video that I am posting along with, hardly does justice to the opulence. After a quick wash up, I reached the in-house restaurant past 10 PM, the closing time. 'Martin', the Barman who happened to be my age exactly, ensured that I get a bite while sipping my drink. Next day was her birthday. At 9.30 PM, after a sumptuous dinner, I realised I had forgotten to let the Property to arrange a small cake for the occasion. I called Jorge, at the Front Office and explained my predicament. He had quietly slipped in the Cake in my room and it was breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you ‘Belver Boa Vista Hotel & Spa’, for being so understanding and allow us to make the most of the occasion. Can’t wait to get back!!

Staff was super sweet, especially when we locked ourselves out on the balcony! Breakfast was plenty and fresh. City was a delight to walk.

It was my first time in the Albufeira and I loved the location and views from the hotel. The pool was lovely, there was a good selection for breakfast, and the hotel was very close to a supermarket to pick up anything you need for your room as well as the marina and other bars/restaurants. There did seem to be some confusion about my room accommodations although I’m not sure if this was on the end of Orbitz booking or the hotel. I recommend to contact the hotel directly after booking to confirm you actually get the room and views you think you’re paying for. You need to get a room directly facing the beach if you want the “sea view” balconies they’re advertising, or you’ll get stuck in the corner with weeds and bushes blocking you’re sight. They eventually made it right after a couple of days, but it was a real struggle going back and forth begging that should not have been necessary.

I really enjoyed Belver Boa Vista hotel. Steps away from the beach and many shopping stores and restaurants. If you are not use to climbing hills, this might not be for you. However, staff was nice and so were the rooms. The only issue was the lack luster breakfast. Outside of that, I would visit again.

Lovely and quiet adults only hotel for the wife and I to escape our children for 3 days and nights. Great location, walkable to Marina, beach, shops, restaurants and bars but be prepared as it’s hilly!! Beautiful views from the hotel rooms across the pool and out to sea. Lovely pool and outside areas for sunbathing and relaxing. Cheery and helpful bar/restaurant manager during the day and evening, amazing breakfast buffet each day. Our only negative was that the pillows were incredibly thick so we did struggle with a comfy sleep - we should have asked for thinner ones but we didn’t, so that’s partly our fault! Also one particular female receptionist was a bit rude but all the other staff were lovely. Air-con in the room with plenty of space and nice bathroom, balcony and wardrobes. Would highly recommend.

The room itself was tight for 2 people with v little storage space for clothes, and no real place to put our cases. But the location, very central to the town centre, the beach, made up to large extent for the poor room layout. Staff were helpful and polite.

L'hotel è in una zona dove si riesce a parcheggiare abbastanza facilmente una vettura. Al momento del check-in abbiamo avuto la piacevolissima sorpresa di un upgrade gratuito a una executive suite. Questa suite era di dimensioni notevoli, con un grande terrazzo dalla vista spettacolare sul mare e la città di Albufeira. Anche il bagno era molto grande e aveva vasca, doccia e bidet! La colazione era eccellente per qualità, varietà e quantità sia nel dolce che nel salato; un po' rivedibile la disposizione dei cibi, in sale diverse e non ben raggiungibili. Fin qui i punti di forza, ma alcuni piccoli difetti li vorrei evidenziare. 1) La suite risente del peso degli anni sia come struttura (pavimento in parquet totalmente sconnesso, con le liste di legno che si spostavano liberamente, arredi "della nonna" romantici ma non si aprivano e chiudevano bene i cassetti e gli armadi, accessori del bagno ossidati) che come funzionalità degli impianti (poche prese elettriche vicino al letto e mal posizionate per connettere i caricabatteria ormai essenziali) 2) Un piccolo split era assolutamente insufficiente per un ambiente così grande, per avere una temperatura accettabile doveva funzionare al massimo tutto il giorno (e all'esterno non faceva neanche tanto caldo) 3) Le capsule di caffè/the fornite non vengono rimpiazzate se utilizzate, e le tazze non vengono lavate. Peccato, meriterebbe una bella ristrutturazione

Le petit déjeuner manquait de variété, et les jus de fruits étaient industriels, ce qui est regrettable pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Globalement, une belle structure, mais des prestations qui ne suivent pas, et une gestion à revoir. Dommage.

The bad: The room was poorly laid out with the toilet and bidet on one side of the room and the shower and tub on the other. The furniture was shabby and worn. The lower level hallway that led to the tiny, uninspired bar apparently doubled as a storage closet, where rows of chairs were stacked and lined the area directly upon leaving the elevator. The good: There's a huge balcony with very pretty views of the sea. The impressive: the spread they put out for the complimentary breakfast is extensive; although that too was poorly laid out with a large wall divided the buffet, with 75% in one room and behind a wall the other 25%.
