Haven Hotel Shawano WI

Toilet ran all night, toilet seat broken, key cards kept deactivating, pool was cold, they wouldn’t turn up the water heat, nasty milk carafe had milk crustified around the top. Waffles were decent.

Unfortunately the pool was closed, our main reason of booking the hotel. But the woman at the desk did everything she could to help and was super awesome. Breakfast was great

Stayed for new years celebration with family. Hotel is dated but okay for the price. Disappointed the pool was closed.

The motel needs serious updating. Paint is chipped, room smelled musty, air did not work properly, very limited space for the breakfast, swimming pool was closed, (which we found out has been since 2020.) Traveled with a group and no one was happy with the accommodations.

The pool was down for maintenance while we were there. They do not have an elevator. This wasn't a big problem for us since we have no problem with stairs, but I was glad we didn't have much luggage. The bathroom faucet had reduced water flow which kinda sprayed sideways. I tried to clean it the aerator but couldn't.

Breakfast was available and good. Hot tub jets weren’t working.

The pool was closed and room wasn't as clean as it should have been.

I specifically booked a room here because it offered a king bed at a good price. Upon checking in; I was given a room with 2 queens instead. No king was available or even existed. Very disappointed. Room was musty smelling & the in-room coffee maker was covered in dust. Breakfast was very limited. Pool was out of commission and has been for over 2 years. This is the second place in this same town that I will not stay again. Booking agencies & hotel owners/managers must do better.

Room was dated. Coffee pot was broken, curtains were coming off the rod. TV remote would only do channels and volume. Had to get up and manually turn it on and off. Room was very dusty. Needed a real good cleaning! On a really good note…. The pool and hot tub were immaculately clean!

There was no maid service. Stayed for three days and had no maid service.

The room was dirty. It smelled musty! The bed was not comfortable! I couldn’t even get the shower to work! Will never stay here again!

The room was not properly cleaned! There were only a few more people staying there, and we should have had a cleaner room! There was a set of fake eyelashes on the stand the TV was on, which made me think what else wasn't probably cleaned! With the available rooms, left me wondering why more time wasn't taken to clean, especially with all the viruses going around at this time!

Room was filthy, the tub was dirty to the point where I had to bathe my grandson in the sink. The hallways smelled like urine. And the milk provided for breakfast came out of the milk container curdled and thick. Not a pleasant experience at all. Also the hotel wanted to charge me an additional $110 at check in. I paid for my stay in full with Expedia

When you first pull in the parking lot it is beautiful outdoor setting are you going inside to check in you have to call for service and even checking out you have to call for service then you're told just to drop the key in the bucket not very customer friendly. Get up to our room there's candy on the floor so I'm going to suggest they didn't vacuum smells like smoke and up until 9:00 there were children running laps up and down the steps so quiet was not happening not very with this hotel

Seemed to be very disorganized, took sometime to actually check in, and finally was given the keys got to the room, the door was open, looked inside and to find it completely dirty and used like someone was still using the room, go back to the desk, explained that the room was either occupied or hasnt been cleaned, just looked at me like i had two heads and was arguing with someone else behind the desk stating that room should have been on the sheet ect... and proceed to go through the list to make sure the job was done, meanwhile i just want to go to the room and get settled, took another half hour or so finally she sends someone up to the other room to make sure it was clean before we got up there, and says good good....finally got into the "clean" room at furst glance it was 100 times better than the other but as getting settled in, found tons of black hair everywhere, the shower curtain was a very dark brown along the bottom of it, found dead bugs by the coffee maker, drawings in the desk drawer and in the binder...the pool is out of service, wish was told apon check in or would have went somewhere else...glad it was for one night!! Never again thanks but not thanks

Old, stained tubs & shower curtains carpet in hallways dirty. Bed was comfortable.

Found a desk drawer full of candy wrappers it was not cleaned from past GUEST

I would not call this facility Quality at all. Carpets were filthy. trash and food under edge of bed on floor. Bath tub had rusty fittings. Bed comforter was dirty. Wanted $50 to check in 30 minutes early. I was not the only one with issues. A customer of mine refused to stay for two nights and found another hotel and he was charged $100 to leave. Ridiculous!!

The actual hotel is outdated and could definitely use an update.. The hotel room itself was so dirty and musty that I had to go through and clean the room myself (former housekeeper), because I knew the hotel was completely booked out for the weekend. I paid almost $300 for two nights, wasn’t able to check in early and almost had my reservation cancelled. There were literal scratches on the doors and furniture and there was a white substance on the bedside tables and the bed that I had to buy cleaning supplies to clean. Why am I waiting all day to check in to a hotel if the housekeepers aren’t actually cleaning the room, all they did was make the bed (I’m hoping the bedsheets were clean and switched out!) and add new towels. AND THE BATHROOM, was disgusting. The fact that I had to clean the WHOLE hotel room is ridiculous! If this is what Haven hotel is going to be like we will never be back and I will make it a point to tell others to steer clear of Haven Hotel. THE ONLY good thing about Haven Hotel is the location, which has nothing to do with what the actual hotel is doing.

It was alright. What I expected for what I paid. Room was on the first floor and windows didn’t lock which I didn’t care for. Hotel is a bit worn out.

I wanted to have high hopes as I’ve stayed at the same location with a previous owner and enjoyed my stay. However this stay I had a few things I’d like to make sure others are aware there’s is only waffles on Saturday and Sunday…On Saturday the waffle mix was so watery I couldn’t even make it. Sunday the mix was much better but there were not eggs and sausage on Sunday. The beds were super uncomfortable and I found food wrappers in the drawer by my bed obviously not cleaned properly from previous guest. My bath tub did not drain at all and I was only taking a shower, the shower drain it’s self was covered in green buildup and when I tried to shower in filled up to my shins before I could rinse my soap off. The AC unit didn’t work luckily the window opened and the weather was cooler. The new owner seems nice just needs to be updated and have more love/care involved to make it more homey for guests.

Room had a band aid on the floor. Bed was uncomfortable. The outside light shined in our window because the curtains didn’t cover properly. The toilet was too short and small for adults. It was difficult to turn tv on and off, so I just left it on. The room keys had to be swiped multiple times to enter. Food for breakfast was inadequate.

This property has not been maintained since it was built it looks like. The paint is chipping it rusty looking. The AC fan was extremely noisy. The towels were great. The bed ok.

The following describes all aspects of our stay: First impression was quality and cleanliness. However, upon further review and a closer look, shabby, "just good enough" and only fix/upgrade if broken beyond repair. The room we stayed in had crayon lines on the wall; old, barely working microwave; tattered curtains; Jacuzzi tub spit brown globs while we tried to fill it; toilet flush handle seemed "cemented" as we had to apply excessive force to push it down. I could write a similar assessment of the breakfast, exterior, pool out of service, etc. Thankfully, cost reflected what our expectations should have been, so we didn't get too bent out of shape over any of the deficiencies...it WAS a last minute cheaply planned weekend trek.

the place was out dated the air condition was push button and thur night my room had gotten warm . no pool so out dated and they had no idea when they would ever updated the place wasnt worth stay . was a really nice car event there close ' people all over the us but not a enough nice hotels for sure in area. the breakfast wasnt great . this is not great at all . too many nice hotels at there and this wasnt it . i would like my money put bake on my card for sure. mark scherbaum

The owners children were yelling and out of control. Not really the place for them if they cannot be quiet. The furniture is starting to show it's age. Time for an upgrade. When we went to breakfast there was one egg, one sausage, brown bananas and an empty fridge. We ended up at I Hop. Pretty disappointing. Cheap price though.

Beds were very comfortable. TV remote didn't work. The motel rooms could use some fresh paint and updating. We were there for just one night so it was adequate for our needs.

Overcharged it was supposed to be 387 for 3 nights x2 room but paid 520

Room was ok, no one at reception had to call using phone at reception for check in, same checking out, if you need anything use phone at reception. breakfast was very very basic, waffles are for weekends only.

Called down to desk to get an extra blanket. The clerk was very rude started asking how many people in the room, I told her 4 .she checked us in so she knew. Then I asked why she said for security. I told her I gave her my id when we checked in. She was talking to someone in the background. She told me I could just leave. I have never treated this rudely. Not enough space for whole story.

Hotel will charge and additional $50 to check in 15 minutes early, no cable, only 3 local channels, complained to staff and they stated they would have to call the cable company on Monday. Would not move us to a room that had cable. Had to walk down to the front desk to get TP as they only had the half roll on.

Clean and the customer service was great!

Arrived at 12:30 pm. No one was there to register a check in. Maintenance person told us to come back after 1. Came back and was told that there was a $15 early fee. Didn’t want to pay it. She told us we could put our things in the room and finish checking in when we got back from our wedding. She took my credit card info and gave us keys. When we came back late at night to finish the checkin, we were told that we had to have a $50 cash deposit. It could not be on the card. We don’t carry much cash. She crossed her arms, stood at the counter and stared at us. We gathered our bags and left. None of these extra fees are mentioned in any reservation process. Very unprofessional staff and property. It’s no wonder there were only 2 cars in the parking lot during early summer in a high traffic tourist destination

I’ve stayed at the facility under different ownership. Room looked to be recently painted and carpet cleaned. Beds not comfortable at all. Breakfast was extremely limited and was usually running low. Staff super friendly and willing to help in anyway. I think with time and more help, this hotel has potential. I believe this is family run now, not a chain hotel.

The staff was absolutely fabulous, friendly and helpful. The only complaints we had was that breakfast was not out on time and since we were there for work, we had to keep to a schedule. The only other thing was that one of our rooms had food in the fridge when we arrived and the other had a dirty toilet and an old rag in the shower. Otherwise, for the price and availability it was great.

This is a fair hotel. For breakfast, there are 3 small tables that wiggle. Food can not be taken to your room, and table space is very limited. Water does not drain well in the shower. The fridge in the room does not keep contents cold. Easy parking.
