Best Western Inn

First of all, there is no elevator at this hotel so you would need to drag everything up the stairs. The hot tub was shut down. We received a call to our room mid day that our water was being shut off with a minute warning before it happened. One of us was in the shower at that time. I would not recommend this hotel.

I recently had knee replacement, there's no elevator to second floor, I asked for a first floor room but said they didn't have one. Didn't seem to care much unfortunately. Won't stay again!

When are places going to have to advertise that their hot tub isn’t available? I paid to come to this hotel because of it. I check in and it’s not working. Disappointed.

The facility is dated but clean, thank you. Construction in the lobby was not expected. No elevator wasn't the end of the world, but I am 77 yr old. What did annoy me was no tub/shower water--the valve handle goes round-n-round. I mentioned the water issue on my way to breakfast; was told to "pull hard on the handle like you're pulling it out of the wall." I suggested that was a little scary, and a sign to that effect would be nice. "That would be too logical," I was told. I didn't chance pulling the valve out of the wall, wore yesterday's clothes, and waved goodbye.

We have been at the property 5 times in the last couple years. They continue to remodel and upgrade. This time the lobby was undergoing a remodel. Other than that the room, interior and grounds were spotless.

The bed was very comfortable. Was sad to see the hot tub closed. The king room was spacious.

Hot tub was appreciated. Weird that there isn’t a pool. Everything here is great.

It was a nice room. The whirlpool was good. Breakfast was standard. I would stay here again.

This is a solid choice for housing when going up to Scout camp. The rooms were a decent size. Everything was clean and fully stocked. There was some construction in the overall building, but that didn’t matter. It does look pretty dated the building and the carpet and the furnishings itself however everything is clean. Breakfast is nice and well stocked, but don’t get there after 830 because things really have run out. Water bottles available at front desk. Hot tub was open but we didn’t use. Very nice for the price and this quick trip

This is our fifth year coming to this facility for the Birkebeiner race. It’s within a reasonable driving distance and is one of the best hotels our family has stayed at. The staff is super friendly. The rooms are clean. There is a nice hot tub. And there are plenty of restaurants around within a short driving distance.

Clean, quiet place to stay with pleasant staff & good breakfast.

No one at checkin desk. Another customer had to go find a person to check us in. No shower curtain & shower not clean. They failed to bring a shower curtain to the room so i had to ho to the front desk to get & put in on myself.

The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I will definitely stay here next time I’m in town.

The room conditioner leaked water into the room, so it always smelled in our room. The room was not clean when we first got into it hair in the bathroom everywhere the staff was very unfriendly. I asked for a printed receipt and they told me they could not do it.

This hotel is being remodeled. When I got to my room there were plumbing supplies, pieces of sheet rock, and missing ceiling tiles in the bathroom.

We stayed here for one night on our way to northern minnesota. Only wish the next hotel we are going to is as wonderful as this one. Beautiful updated rooms and the beds are magnificent!

The hotel was newly remodeled. Very clean and nicely updated. Spacious room & comfy beds. Good hot breakfast as one would expect. It was the weekend after Christmas, so not busy. We would stay again, as we have family in the area.

Your staff was very friendly. But…. The beds are absolutely terrible. I think sleeping on a wooden floor would have been more comfortable. I did not sleep at all, and my back hurts. Other than that. All good. Please get new updated beds.

The property was recently updated- room was clean and modern . Comfortable bed. We would stay there again.

The room we got was very spacious, it was 2 separate rooms and we had 2 bathrooms, 2 queen beds in onw room and separate room had couch, chair, desk and another TV. Great room for a larger family. The hotel looks older from outside, but inside had updates and is clean. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good, enough options. Would definitely stay again.

The upgraded room was very spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the upgraded TV's and comfortable mattress. One of the best water pressure in a shower we've experienced. Will stay again.

The staff and property itself was great. The bed was comfortable. Two problems. Every time the AC cycled on ( about every 10 minutes), there was a loud sound that would ramp up. It sounded like an alarm clock so I didn’t get much sleep. Problem 2 is that there was no electricity in the bathroom in the morning. I know things can go awry but not my best stay.

The good - good Wi-Fi that didnt kick me out every few hours, like at some hotels. Larger than usual min-fridge which was great for me since I have dietary restrictions and carry all my own food. Friendly staff, decent hot breakfast, and clean. The not so good - I was assigned a room adjacent to an exterior door that squeaked very loudly. I couldn’t sleep past 6 am when people would start going in and out the door. Also walls very thin so could easily hear doors shutting, conversations etc. The window in my room was half covered with taped cardboard.

Great little place to stay while we visited family. Room was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The front desk staff was friendly and greeted is warmly. Would definitely stay again!!

Reservation somehow got moved forward a day. The front desk stated I didn't have a reservation until the next day, and was only able to get checked in after chatting with Expedia. Front desk run around included: Saying sometimes this happens and he needed to contact Expedia; Stating it was in fact me that needed to contact Expedia; Asking to see the confirmation email, then to see it in the app, then asking for each again after not accepting the other; Advising me to cancel my reservation in the Expedia app and pay directly to the hotel, and at a higher rate, no less; He stated that I wouldn't be charged a cancel fee from Expedia if I cancelled through the app, and repeated this when I asked again to confim; Assured me it was a very good rate despite being higher, and after I pushed back repeatedly, only then agreed to charge the original price on my reservation. At this point, I was not confident he'd properly address the issue, so reached out to Expedia via chat. They connected right away, called the front desk right away, and seemed to push some magic buttons that updated the reservation with the hotel to the proper dates. The front desk indicated it was an Expedia issue and sometimes their servers didn't work right. While very possibly the case, assigning blame after a thorough run around was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Will not stay here again.

Housekeeping asked if we wanted service and we did, never cleaned room. TV didn’t work we’re gonna have someone fixed it and they never did fix it.

This is my favorite place to stay in Rice Lake. Fantastic location. Great customer service. Exceptional breakfast. Clean. Quiet. A++++

Nice safe area near restaurants and shopping. Relatively quiet could hear trucks off main street around 6am. Also remodeling their desk area so that was a bit of a surprise but check in and out was still easy and person at the desk area was pleasant and helpful.

Everything about this hotel and my stay was excellent! The hotel was clean and well kept. This hotel is conveniently located to various highways and restaurants in Wausau!

My son and I stayed here five nights, and we found it very nice. The morning breakfasts were good, it was quiet at night, and there was easy parking. Since we take a three mile walk every morning, we could walk from the motel to a very nice walk along the river nearby.

The hotel was newly renovated. The rooms were updated with new carpet, beds, appliances, lights etc. The breakfast area was also updated and offered an excellent variety of hot and cold breakfast options. The entire hotel was very clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

We had stayed here several times before and it was good. It's an older facility but the rooms were clean and and the location quiet. Breakfast used to have a better selection. There were 2 waffle makers and now only 1. Yogurt is no longer provided. Single serve milk is no longer provided. What they offered was scrambled eggs and cold sausage which I decided was best not to consume. (not sure how old they were) Fruit available were 3 small oranges or 3 overripe bruised bananas. Others were commenting that the breakfast options had truly declined. We will no longer be staying there when visiting family in the area. So sad what has happend.
