With the current cost of hotel accommodation this was good value for the money. It was convenient for Chemainus, the golf club, theatre and if travelling between the north and south of the Island. We stayed in a 2 bedroom room - convenient as we were a 3 adult group. Storage was a little sparse, but, as we were only staying for the one night, this was not really a problem. It would have been useful to have had a lamp in the bedroom as the light switch had to be accessed from the hall way. Check on cups, cutlery etc if you are a group of 4. Some features in the motel room were updated but we will look forward to staying in one of the advertised 'newly renovated' rooms on another visit. This motel has potential! Pretty garden at the front of the motel and I noticed there was a barbecue available (which we did not use). The person on the front desk was, in her words,'new' but she was very friendly and helpful.

Clean room at a fair price. Quiet for being so convenient to the highway. Basic amenities include wifi and locally roasted coffee for the in-room electric drip machine. One tesla charging station available, but no J1772s. Saw some of the dodgy reviews and decided to take a chance, will stay here again when needing a stop “on the way”.

the look of the hotel may throw you off, hotel check in was a breeze ground level rooms with easy access to your vehicle, we had our dogs so having a door with access to the green space located in the middle of the property was excellent the property is definitely in need of a facelift, but dont let that change you booking this place the beds are comfy, probably one of the best beds i have slept on, the room was cozy and warm shower has hot water and the coffee maker and fridge worked great

I’m only rating staff, service & area around the property as 3 because this is not a 5 star stop. There are really no amenities and the staff are not on-site available 24/7. The staff were excellent at what they did when they were on-site. This is a motel along the highway that really just looks like an old motel along the highway. However, the room we stayed in was as modern as any 4 star I’ve stayed in. So you definitely can’t judge a book by its cover in this case.

I always check the bed sheets first when I book a hotel, and this place was nothing like the photos on Hotels.com or the motel’s own website. The sheets that were supposed to be white had turned yellow and were covered in stains. The green blanket was dirty, and the room smelled strongly of mold and dampness — it hit me the moment I walked in. Even in cold weather, I had to leave the window open because the smell was unbearable. The mattress had completely sunk in the middle, and my back hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep properly for two nights. Everything felt old and neglected — the kitchen cabinets creaked, the fridge door was dented, and the appliances were sticky with grease. The bathroom corners were full of dust, and the towels were thin, yellowed, and rough like they’d been used for decades. There were even flies flying around and dead ones on the floor — I took photos of everything because I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t expecting a luxury hotel, but for this price, the condition was shocking. It honestly felt like a run-down 1960s roadside motel from an old movie. Please replace the bedding and mattress immediately, and update the online photos to show the real condition of the room.

The shower wasn't more than a trickle most of the water went into the tub and was very hot and almost to the point of buring - but to have a somewhat warm trickle of water the hornwatwt had to be up. There were blue stains in the sheets from what looked like blue berries or another rype of berry that didnt come out.

Internet was nonexistent. Phone would latch on at least me bar, for a few seconds, and drop. Wife had to work remotely and couldn’t. She ended up staying up all night trying to work and kept me and my son up. We were exhausted and miserable. I spent 1.5 hours trying to ask to cancel on hotels.com, but they kept dropping the call and asking me the problem over and over. Finally told me they couldn’t cancel. Then asked the hotel manager to cancel the second day and they refused. So we put up with two nights like that. On top of the internet problem, the room photos had two rooms with a door inbetween. This one didn’t. Also, it smelt like it wasn’t used for a month. And the room was VERY dark. I actually had to use my phone flashlight, hanging in the imupper cabinets in order to be able to cook food. Unreal. Also, the hot and cold taps were reversed, since 1965, and somehow the owner didn’t bother to fix that mistake for 57 years. So pathetic.

We were upgraded to 2 queens . Our room was closer to hiway so did hear traffic noise through the night but our friends stayed a few rooms further away from hiway where you didn’t hear the traffic. Nice having a restaurant right next door.

Pros: Suite was perfect for 3 adults (separate bedroom and sofabed in living room). Kitchen was convenient. Towels were cushy! A pet bed and gift pack was brought to our room upon check-in along with a personalized welcome note! Whisky Jack restaurant onsite was great. Cons: Air conditioning did not work well.

The motel is in a good location to explore the area. It is an older property but they have done a good job keeping the rooms clean. The bed was comfortable but because the back window is covered with cedar trees, the room is very dark. We were happy with our stay.

I notified them I would be a late night check in, sent in a signed form, ID, and Mastercard photocopy. Was told to call when I got off the Victoria ferry. Called and no answer, went to voice mail. Called again when I arrived at the motel, no answer, left a message, Had the choice of sleeping in my car or find another accommodation for the night. When I checked in I found I had been billed for the night I had no access to the room, so I paid two places for the same night. Check in was only from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Check out was "use the mail slot" to drop off the keys. The find dining restaurant they advertised was up the street and not part of the motel.

Our unit was clean and easily accessible. The room was dated but clean the bed was small but comfortable. The young lady at the office was polite and gave all the information we needed when we checked in. If we needed to be in that area again we would stay there again.

Nothing wrong with room. Left even s $10 tip I checked out early this morning and dropped the key in the slot. Came back at the official checkout time of 11:00 am. Nobody was there so I didn’t get a print out. Don’t know how much I even paid. Not happy!

Definitely adequate for it's price point. There was an error with the Expedia listing, but the staff and management were extremely accommodating to try and make it right. They went above what was needed and I highly appreciate that. It's nothing glamourous but I would stay there again.

Perfect pitstop for my work trip up island. Picked it because it was cheap and being between towns wouldn’t have meth heads trying to break into my truck. Front desk was awesome!!

5 stars: Sean was great! Friendly and very helpful. Gave us a choice of the 2 pet-friendly rooms as we traveled with 3 dogs. There was plenty of space for them to run. The beds were comfortable. Had a restaurant next door which was ok. A pub i short drive away that had amazing food. (Huge portions) 1star: the room was very old, run down and had the worst smell ever!! We even bought candles. They didn't help. The separate bedroom was a nice touch but the smell was unbearable. Slept with the window wide open. The tv was hanging downward from the wall which we had to fix ourselves. Had a restaurant next door which was ok. A pub i short drive away that had amazing food. (Huge portions) 1star: the room was very old, run down and had the worst smell ever!! We even bought candles. They didn't help. The separate bedroom was a nice touch but the smell was unbearable. Slept with the window wide open. The tv was hanging downward from the wall which we had to fix ourselves. With the current cost of hotel accommodation this was good value for the money. It was convenient for Chemainus, the golf club, theatre and if travelling between the north and south of the Island. We stayed in a 2 bedroom room - convenient as we were a 3 adult group. Storage was a little sparse, but, as we were only staying for the one night, this was not really a problem. It would have been useful to have had a lamp in the bedroom as the light switch had to be accessed from the hall way. Check on cups, cutlery etc if you are a group of 4. Some features in the motel room were updated but we will look forward to staying in one of the advertised 'newly renovated' rooms on another visit. This motel has potential! Pretty garden at the front of the motel and I noticed there was a barbecue available (which we did not use). The person on the front desk was, in her words,'new' but she was very friendly and helpful.

If you have realistic expectations, this is a great stay— it’s an older roadside inn that hasn’t been updated much aesthetically, but it’s clean and the rooms are actually really quiet for being right beside the highway. The Haida Way is a great spot in the morning for a good greasy spoon breakfast on your way back out. Will stay again.

While it may not be much to look at from the outside, its a great little place to stay. Very quiet, very clean and friendly staff. Air conditioning worked great and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed there once before, and the experience then was great as well. We will definitely stay there again.

The motel is in a good location to explore the area. It is an older property but they have done a good job keeping the rooms clean. The bed was comfortable but because the back window is covered with cedar trees, the room is very dark. We were happy with our stay.

I notified them I would be a late night check in, sent in a signed form, ID, and Mastercard photocopy. Was told to call when I got off the Victoria ferry. Called and no answer, went to voice mail. Called again when I arrived at the motel, no answer, left a message, Had the choice of sleeping in my car or find another accommodation for the night. When I checked in I found I had been billed for the night I had no access to the room, so I paid two places for the same night. Check in was only from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Check out was "use the mail slot" to drop off the keys. The find dining restaurant they advertised was up the street and not part of the motel.

We were upgraded to 2 queens . Our room was closer to hiway so did hear traffic noise through the night but our friends stayed a few rooms further away from hiway where you didn’t hear the traffic. Nice having a restaurant right next door.

Pros: Suite was perfect for 3 adults (separate bedroom and sofabed in living room). Kitchen was convenient. Towels were cushy! A pet bed and gift pack was brought to our room upon check-in along with a personalized welcome note! Whisky Jack restaurant onsite was great. Cons: Air conditioning did not work well.

The room was filthy, extremely hot and not well maintained. I tried to used the sofa bed, and it was disgusting. There were crumbs and hair ties under the cushions and when I opened the bed there was a huge dark spot and more crumbs. The sofa bed’s cushions have ugly stains. The floor was dirty (my kids socks were gross because they removed their shoes). The room was smelly. The entrance door needs replacement and one of the windows had a crack. The bathroom didn’t have towels racks, the hair dryer had hair coming out of the fan part and, it was dusty. The bathtub and bathmat had mold. I can leave with a dated place, but I couldn’t keep my three kids in that dirty/uncomfortable room any longer and had to leave. We told the receptionist our plans had chance because we didn’t want to cause a big deal out of it. However, we were looking for a refund because the reviews are deceived and not 100% truthful. We contacted the receptionist and he told us to reach out Hotels.com to get a refund since we booked through them. We got a notification from Hotels.com saying that Fuller Motel refused to give us the refund. We only stayed at this motel because of the reviews. Otherwise, I would never bring my family here. Horrible and disgusting place and refuse to give refund.
