Clean along with free parking for a very reasonable price

Our suite has a stove, full refrigerator, microwave, two rooms with comfortable beds and a nice little patio. The staff helped us make a copy of a parking permit for the ucsc graduation ceremony. We stayed two nights.

Friendly staff, easy parking, great location, quiet and safe. Recommended.

For an older hotel, the room was very clean and efficient. Very pleased with the two separate bedrooms. There were several types of pillow to choose from. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Surprisingly quiet for bring right off a busy street. Great location for access to the beach and boardwalk. The front desk personnel was friendly.

This hotel has the best parking space per car in a town where people drive cars the size of golf carts.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen, walking distance to the beach boardwalk, for a very reasonable price. It was mid-week, so we didn't hear street noise. They leave ear plugs by your bed for when it's busier. This is an old style motel, but it's clean and comfortable. It was great to have 2 separate bedrooms with doors. Only thing is- there are no kitchen supplies. I think they should leave paper towels, a small dish soap, some plastic plates, bowls and cutlery. Plus one pot and one pan. You have to bring everything if you want to eat or cook, even though there's a full kitchen stovetop, fridge, sink etc. Otherwise very good deal.

Maids were prompt and plenty of clean towels and nice complimentary liquid soap & lotion was good quality. A few complimentary coffee, microwave fridge. Great shower, hot water, and cotton high quality sheets and pillows, friendly staff...We had two private room with locking doors with the bathroom dividing the two bedrooms. This was a very comfortable room and the place was close to entertainment, food and shopping! We walked to the boardwalk it took 7 minutes. Very good quiet location. We were very happy with this stay. We will book reservations here again!

Everything was just perfect, we were able to park early and walk to the boardwalk.

Parking was easy and secure.

They provide kitchen but no utensils and the kitchen hob did not work. We had to fire it each time with lighter

I did notice about the carpeting in the room might need cleaning. I just happen to be walking around barefoot in the room. I sat down to put my shoes on and the bottoms of my feet were black. The only place I was barefoot was in the room. Otherwise, everything else was ok.

Clean and quiet!

The room was Not as pictured on their web site. Room was in dire need of a refresh. Exposed plumbing, electrical outlets not working, pealing paint. Tab remote was filthy, sticky stuff on it. Carpet filthy, floors in bathroom needed cleaning.

Liked how close everything was, however the carpet was dirty and turned our socks black, but everything else was very clean.

We absolutely adored the room! I was a bit leary as we have had not so great experiences in the area but this place was amazing! Everything was tidy and clean, no weird mold or mildew in the bathroom. Appliances were working, nothing broken. The pillows were super comfy and my teens had zero complaints! I was worried it would be noisy being so close to the street but we heard very little and we had zero loud neighbors! Everyone was super friendly and quiet. There were other families with kids as well and throughout the night we did not hear them running around. Everyone was super respectful. We were actually blown away by how great this place is, I definitely recommend!

The location is perfect. The room is exactly like a pictures. The most important thing that I hope they improve it is cleaness. The floor is disgusting. Really need attention to cleanliness.Other things were great

I always stay here when I’m in town Surfing. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are well taken care of. And it’s a nice short walk to the boardwalk plenty of food and other things to do in the area. I really love staying at Riverside Inn.

The bed had stains on it the bedding appeared dirty the bath looked uncleaned from previous gyests. Very dirty. Did not enjoy it, beought in my car blanket to sleep because it felt unsanitry. Only one tv for 2 rooms. Stayed on a diff room before had a better experience after this experience would not book here again for the price.

We stayed in the two-bedroom. The front bedroom did not have a television but the bathroom was there. The back bedroom had a television and kitchen, it also had a second door to go out but when I opened the door, at the bottom it was full of bugs and eggs, so I quickly closed it, and did not open it again. We did not drive there but the parking seemed to be accessible. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The kitchen and bathroom were unswept, and there was a large dead black bug by the refrigerator floor upon arrival. I asked the front desk to sweep the floors and they did. A strange lady knocked on the door late at night, and I was there with my daughter and I told her quietly to ignore it, although the woman knocked several times. We were able to walk back and forth to the boardwalk and a convenience store was two blocks away from the hotel, but I would not trust walking there at night. The Wi-Fi worked fine. The towels were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower head was nice, but the tub stopped up while showering. Although the location is convenient, I would not stay there again.

Our room had two queen beds in separate bedrooms, which was surprising and nice for privacy. Check in and check out were easy. The property was clean and quiet. There was a fridge, coffee-maker, and microwave, which I hadn't expected from the amenities list but enjoyed having! The shower temperature could be set to whatever I liked, with hot water available. Very good location, 10 minute walking distance to the Boardwalk or downtown restaurants.

The staff were friendly and professional. The room was very clean and every thing was in good working condition. And the bonus, the room had a Keurig—I frequently travel, and most don’t even have those funky little coffee pots—so this was very nice and unexpected. Mattress needs to be replaced. FYI: Property is on a busy street.

Room was ok but a bit old .Toilet made loud noises and shook when flushed. Definitely need some remodeling.

Good location, easily walkable to the boardwalk and wharf. Small motor inn style room. The decor was dated which doesn’t bother me. The room was clean. I didn’t find the bed to be very comfortable ( I am a bit picky ). The pillows were hard and flat. The bedside lights were a new looking addition and had usb jacks which was nice but they were fluorescent and way too bright. The parking lot which is right out the door is very lit up. They had blackout curtains but light leaked out the top into the room so it was a little too bright in the room. They should put something up at the top of the curtains to fix that. All and all, it was just ok, could have been better with a few minor improvements and you are definitely paying for the location.

I was booked to stay in a Budget Queen room, but the guests in it extended their stay and I got upgraded to a room with the kitchenette. The room is exactly what I needed, simple, close to the boardwalk, and a place to sleep for the night, not to mention quite inexpensive for the area. To be more detailed though, there were a number of small things that were a bit funky: The tv was hooked over top of the wall mount, meaning it might fall if you mistook it for a telescoping mount. Next to it was the main light for the room, which was damaged on the top of the fixture. In the kitchenette, none of the four burners started, but the sink had great water preassure and was quick to heat. The sam went for the bathroom, where you would get hot water almost immediately, though there was some calcium build-up on the showerhead which reduced the water pressure. The shower screen itself was toen at the top, separating from the rail rings. The mirror over the bathroom sink had some odd discoloration behind the surface, and the bedspread had a couple small dot-stains. Again, these really didn’t bother me all that much, the room itself was comfortable enough to sleep in, and I spent most of my time walking the area, and visiting the nearby beach, boarwalk, arcade, and warf. Likely will stay again if I need a cheap place to stay the night and be close to the action. Literally took my a max of 8 minutes to jog over to the boardwalk from my room, I loved the closeness to the action!

Very small rooms but great location

It is a lower-priced option, so I wasn't expecting much. I was comfortable in the room, however my room faced the street and was noisy. So much so that the hotel supplies ear plugs in the room...The fridge and microwave were welcomed.

It was close to the Boardwalk and Wharf, also to the event we attended. The room had a musty small.

The room was very nice and clean. There was a microwave and a coffee maker. The big light in the room didn’t work but there were 2 smaller lights next to the bed. The bed was nice, enough pillows but the blanket was pretty thin. In the bathroom was soap, make up cleaner and towels. The Wi-Fi didn’t work that good, for texting ok but calls didn’t work. Also it was very noisy. Our neighbors shouted in the middle in the night and we could hear every word. Also its right next to a street so you hear a lot of cars. In summary, we only stayed for one night and just slept there so we enjoyed our short stay. But it’s very noisy so if you absolutely can’t sleep with noise in the background then maybe you should look for another hotel.

Ten minute walk to the boardwalk. Front desk staff was kind and communicative. Rooms were clean and parking was easy. Allowed to check in early for a small fee.

The room was clean and convenient but the people staying next door were loud and standing outside of their room yelling and partying until 2:00am and the office did not say anything to them. My husband and 3 year old daughter and I got horrible sleep. Will not be staying here again.

Fast checkin process. Even before checkin I had a welcoming courtesy call from Jessica the inn keeper, who assisted me and walked through their process and advised me accordingly when my plans induced a late checkin. Thank you Jessica!

This was not a good stay and I have stayed at this property before. The parking was directly across from an encampment and a very busy street and not directly in front of the street side room. Aside from the noise, we were moving our daughter into school and had to unload the entire carload for safety. The management would not allow us to park on inner lot and refused to help us in any way. Initially booked for two nights, we stayed the one night and checked out. I will not stay here again. The management was rude and unhelpful.

We love the proximity to Aldos, Pacific Ave shopping, boardwalk and the wharf. Lots of great dining close by. Never need to drive anywhere. Great walking on the river walk. When we checked in there were complimentary earplugs on the side table and we thought we were going to hear a lot of noise, otherwise why the earplugs? We never heard any noise. For a little one story Inn that is a little old we've stayed there twice and we'll stay there again.

Great location near downtown Santa Cruz, walkable distance from key areas in the city. The room was small for the price but overall fine.

The staff was very friendly. Great value for the money. We loved that we could walk to the boardwalk and to the wharf for dinner and to the yacht harbor for breakfast at Aldos. We didn't drive the car all weekend because we walked everywhere. The river walk was right across the street. We were a little nervous when we got into our room and there were complimentary earplugs on the night stand. We thought "this place must get noisy at night" but we slept great and there was never any noise except for the air conditioner. We will stay here again on our next visit to Santa Cruz. We highly recommend this motel.

Great location easy to walk to Santa Cruz Boardwalk about 3 blocks. Nice neighborhood, parking is great. Staff is pleasant and friendly.

stayed for two nights and the stay wasn’t all that bad but the area made my partner and I feel tense and scared. Homeless people in the area, and if you’re in the budget room you are staying in front of a skate park and a stop light which you will hear all the noise from it. The walls are also thin, I could here my neighbor in the bathroom on his phone and then flushing the toilet. There is a TV but with only one channel to watch, so we brought our own devices. Bathroom: clean, just dirty from buildup in the shower. Smells like bleach which shows they cleaned it but it lingers. Toilet has an INTENSE flush, kinda scary if you don’t like loud noises. Bed: stayed for two night but never got our sheets swapped just new towels. Bed is okay, thin blanket that feels crusty. The top blanket had marks of cigarette burns which made me feel so gross and we kept it on the floor to not use. Couldn’t really sleep with all the noise from the street. Office: no complaints! Nice girl at the front, made me feel like this place should be fine! Overall stay: it was close to a lot and made it really easy to travel but I wouldn’t stay again, if you’re on vacation treat yourself to a vacation and not having to worry about your safety so much with this area. It’s a cool spot for a budget friendly one night stay but not for a vacation.
