Best Western Plus Brunswick Bath

I booked this hotel online for a one night stay with my wife and son while we did some things in maine. I specifically booked this hotel based on having a pool, non smoking, and a good rating. We arrived and went to our room. In the hallway all you can smell is bleach. We assumed this was good expecting it to be clean. First thing you notice is the gross bathroom. The floor grout is so dirty, mirror had splatter of maybe spit smeared on it, and sink had toothpaste residue. Used the bathroom and the already broken toilet paper holder fell right off. Next we went to the pool since my 5 year old was excited to swim. Get the pool and there are signs posted saying "sorry, pool heater is currently broken". I still let my son swim for a short time as he shivered in the cold water in most shallow pool ive ever aeen at a hotel. 4ft deep. The pool room has nasty drains all around the floor with fuzz and looked like mold as well as many areas of cracked flooring and stuff chipping off the walls. The one tredmill in the exercise room was also out of order. The pool having an issue should have been disclosed at check in.Went back to our room and got comfortable to sit down on the bed that we quickly noticed had lots of stains on the comforter. The window in our room didnt even fully close to use the regular lock so it was screwed shut with the cool air coming in and being able to hear the traffic outside.Checking out we let the manager know of our concerns and they refunded us only $16.

This is a fairly new hotel with lots of open spaces (couches outside the elevators, for example). The room was comfortable and quiet, and the breakfast options were solid. The exercise room was small but operational and well-cooled (I have learned that none of these things should be assumed).

The only thing I don't like about Best Westerns is they are all different and you never know what you are going to get. This BW was awesome!! Very clean. Great Rooms - loved the wood floors, they felt so much cleaner than carpet. Great Pool - loved the waterfall and it was nice and clean. I wish this hotel could travel with me so I could stay in it wherever I go. =)

The pool was not open it was under construction. This was not on web site. At 830pm the fire alarm went off because some guest caused a fire in her microwave. I should have stayed at Hampton inn.

Comfortable stay for three nights. . Breakfast was underwhelming: potatoes were dry or freezer burnt; no bacon on 2 of 3 days; oj was watery on one day; bread choices were bland; eggs tasteless--sad way to start the day. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Pool had convenient hours, with pool towels always available. Room (bathroom), pool, and hallways showing signs of a less-than remodeling when BW took ownership of the property. Coffee and tea station open 24 hrs.

The property is nestled into a quiet little spot in the woods near Cook’s corner. The staff is friendly and helpful and the salt water pool is lovely!

Have been staying for years! Beautiful renovations and front desk staff is wonderful. Parking lot nicely lit and rooms clean and comfortable! Perfect location on way to Bailey’s Island. Brunswick or Bath.

We stayed three days in December. The common areas were very cold, around 60°. The breakfast area while cold had pretty good variety. The waffle machine was not plugged in at 715 am and so we had to do that and wait for it to heat up, but there was mix to put in it. The attendant overseeing breakfast could not speak any English at all and was unable to answer a couple of our questions. We selected this hotel because of its heated pool for our grandchildren, but the heater was not working during the entire time we were there. Upon returning to our room after being away for the day, we found it to be 62° even with the thermostat set at 75. We eventually that evening had to switch rooms in order to get a room with any heat. The front desk staff was courteous, but there wasn’t much they could do about the lack of heat throughout the hotel. The pool area had significant chipped paint all around the deck and corrosion in a number of places from the apparent saltwater pool. This is a pet friendly hotel and we heard dogs barking numerous times. The bedding was nice and the room decently clean though we did have to go get additional towels because during our three day stay the room was not cleaned or replenished in any way.

My main reason for choosing this room was the jetted tub and it was wonderful. The rest of the room was mostly functional but there were numerous small things that could have been better. The bathroom fittings (towel bar and toilet paper holder bar) both fell apart while using them. Bathroom seemed to be lacking good towel drying areas esp considering extra tub. Electric outlet situation was lacking. Only one side of the bed had a nightstand with no outlet or plugs. There was a clock radio plugged in by an old fashioned extension cord strung to the other side, no power strip, just the extension cord with 3 2-prong plugs left available but no table to set anything on. There was use of another similar extension cord with no power strip in the other portion of the room. There was a fridge with tiny freezer space and microwave which was great. There was also a tiny sink seemingly meant to be able to wash a dish but no soap, towel or paper towel. Room had several sections but only one tiny trash can. Multiple areas of patched/spackled paint but not repainted. I gave 4 stars because while there were maybe small inconveniences I really wanted to use the tub and it was great, also as said it was clean, staff was pleasant. If you are more exacting you would have been frustrated.

Terrible smell of cigarette smoke and even worse in the bathroom. Beds were fine. Bathroom not clean. Front desk person was nice during check in and lobby area was fine.

The hotel room was dirty- the bathroom floor looked like it needed a good mopping. Additionally they ran out of some food items at the continental breakfast at 8 am. It was not what we’ve come to expect based on other stays at Best Western hotels.

Quiet, convenient location. Surprised by the dirt-packed corners on the bathroom floor and shower.

Easy parking. Room condition wasn’t great - outlet with no cover, hole in the wall, fridge didn’t work. No bathroom counter space.

The check in process was easy, fast, flawless! When we got to our room half our room had no lights and was super dark because there was no windows. The other half of our room had ample lighting and nice big window. The bed was extremely comfy and the room was exceptionally clean!! We had a couple issues with the bathroom. The first is the toilet kept clogging. The second was when we took a shower water would drip out of the sprinkler system in the closet and get the floor and everything in the closet wet. We notified the front desk about all of this. Lastly we went down to breakfast around 8:30 and there was hardly any food out when we went and it was messy. It was super frustrating considering that was one of the perks for renting this property. We did go swimming in the pool as well and the temperature was perfect and the whole pool area was super clean with lots of towels! We personally wouldn’t stay here again as we feel we could find a much more affordable place with the same or better amenities!

Very noisy AC, can hear other rooms’ AC even turning off our room’s one.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and clean. Our children loved the pool!

It was not very clean and needs updating but the biggest negative was, though they had Wi-Fi and gave a password for it, it would stay connected for 1-2 minutes before kicking you off.

We\'ve stayed in 4 hotels in the last 8 days on a driving trip to visit family. This was, in many ways, the best of the lot...BUT, we were in a "handicap accessible room " because my husband\'s in a wheelchair and the way the bathroom door swung out into the hallway at the main door into the room made it almost impossible to get the wheelchair into the bathroom.

Traveling into Brunswick for day surgery with my family and my nurse and two chihuahuas. It went very well and we enjoyed our stay. Hotel was only 7 minutes from the hospital. Excellent staff even accommodated my request for a late checkout so I could have my follow up with the surgeon at 11:30 the next morning. Highly recommend!

I will never stay at the best western again or any best western property. This one messed up my reservation the day of check in and I wasn’t able to check in to my room until the next day. I was on vacation and luckily knew people in the area and had to phone a friend at 1am in the morning just to have somewhere to stay because the lady at the front desk first of all was new and didn’t know what she was doing and secondly she was rude as hell. I even waited for her to come to the front desk for about 15 minutes and found her dancing in the bathroom. What type of customer service is that? After talking to corporate and the management team of the property and explaining my situation they then told me it was there fault that the reservation got messed up because they chose to use my reservation to train two new girls and one of them made a couple of wrong clicks and made my reservation twice as high as it was suppose to be. The only thing they did was take off the day I didn’t stay there which is what they were suppose to do. Other than that they did nothing to show how they value they customers during a inconvenience on their part. I was highly pissed off and for that reason I will never stay another best western property again. They also don’t have stable house keeping staff. If you want your room serviced you have to put in a request. One day I called to have to trash changed and the lady said to come to the front desk to get two trash bags and change it myself. Terrible !!!!

Staff were friendly but it seemed understaffed. When we arrived @ 6pm, another family’s doggy suite wasn’t ready. 1/2 later they were still in the lobby fuming. Our room had a light out in the bathroom, no body wash in the shower, and the shower curtain was ripped. The breakfast kept running out of stuff and not replaced quickly like milk and bacon. Pool towels were not replaced. Just felt like the place wasn’t staffed appropriately and things were falling through the cracks.

The front desk staff at check-in was lovely. She was helpful in recommending a place to eat for the evening. The hotel was a convenient distance from the interstate to jump in and around the area. However, the second night they must have been short staffed, and when we walked back in after dinner, I observed keys laid out on the front desk with names. The pool was closed early and there was no one manning the front desk. I didn't feel very secure after seeing this. The room was worn down and very dirty feeling- although not actually dirty. The pool was tight if there were more than three people in it.

Had to check out very early in the AM to make an early flight out of Portland. Whoever was supposed to be on duty at that time was MIA. Was forced to drop off key cards and leave a note.

A very nice hotel. The beds are great,. The staff is wonderful.

I was in town working on my rental property. The installation of my new furnace resulted in my needing a quick one-night stay (no heat). I simply needed a place to stay with no frills. Best Western was just down the road and had availability. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Everything I needed without charging an arm & leg. This is my second stay at this BW and would easily come back again.

It was a nice clean hotel with a decent breakfast and a clean gym and indoor pool. Only downside is it’s close to cooks corner shopping area but the speed limit is 40 and it’s not super walkable no sidewalks.

The hotel was great. It was a beautiful setting, quiet, and conveniently located. A great seafood restaurant was just a couple of blocks away. The staff was friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice property in Brunswick. Lots of chain retail and restaurants around, but we drove the short 8 min drive into downtown Brunswick to visit the cute local shops and restaurants .

Love that it was on a quiet street but still close to shopping and businesses.

we were dissatisfied with the lack of sufficient towels, etc., only one very small bar of hand soap, and the body wash dispenser was empty. At request, we were given towels, and soaps. A body was dispenser was left on the counter. Front desk people were friendly and helpful. For breakfast, the bacon was not fully cooked, and the eggs were cold.

This Best Western is centrally located for access to turnpikes and main roads, but it is over-priced for the area and amenities. Breakfast bar was very heavy on carbs, minimal fruit and no healthy options like yogurt. The coffee bar was cluttered with three machines; only one was making coffee one morning so guests were frustrated.

Our stay at Best Western Brunswick was great. Our room was cozy and comfortable.the Staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. We only wish the breakfast was more complete. The hot scrambled eggs were not refilled. Some people arrived close to 9:00 and there was not enough. Everything else was excellent!
