Clarion Inn Dayton Airport

My brother was in a handicapped room. The room really didn't allow to get in and out easily and the shower seat was not big enough. these room really should not have tubs, There were ants in both rooms. Disgusting as they went in the bathroom and were all over anything in a trash can. The manager was not available to speak with. The pool and work-out room were closed for "repairs." Horrible experience.

The stay was decent, the hotel had some construction issues but not too bad. The elevator that would have made it easier to get to our room was out of service, the pool was out of service, the customer laundry facility was dirty. However the room was clean, and quiet.

The first room's toilet wouldn't flush. They had no issue giving me a different room, but the phone and TV didn't work. I was too tired to change rooms again. The breakfast was good and had plenty of options. However, there were not enough parking spots. The bar patrons took many spots. I don't mind a motel being worn, but there were some obvious challenges.

I stayed 3 nights, the hotel advertises an "INDOOR" pool, that is true, but not heated. It's mid August and the pool temp is freezing. The Continental breakfast on the juice dispenser only has apple and cranberry juice. There is a spot for orange juice. The labeling was switched to the other side of the machine on day 3 but orange juice was never added. Orange juice should be a staple for a Continental breakfast. The sausage patties were absolutely horrible. Need to change suppliers. The scrambled eggs were okay. The hotel states that they only change linens every 3 days unless upon request. On the morning of night 3 I requested my room to be serviced. The amenities were all replaced, however the bed was never made. A customer is paying for that service. I am not better than anyone else, but when your on vacation, and you put in a request on night 3 to have your bed linen changed and it does not happen. I'm not happy. The elevator at the one end is out of service as well. It was an inconvenience from where my room was located and had to walk to the other side of the building to go up a floor. I like the location of the hotel, I would like to stay here again this October. My minor complaints I feel should be addressed and to make a better overall experience for everyone.

When we checked in we did not get the room we picked and reserved online and when we tried to tell the clerk he was rude and didn’t care. The bathroom was filthy with mud in tub and on floor and black hair all over the floor. We were told breakfast ended at 10:30 only to find it ended at 10. We were told the pool closed at 10 but it closed at 9. It was a horrible stay and we will not be returning

Convenient place to stay. Pool closed too early in my option and 2 elevators were broken. Other than that, the stay was great.

Well, this place was probably a really nice hotel, back in its day. But that day is long past now. An aging property that is not holding up all that well. I see it used to be a Clarion branded property within the Choice Hotels umbrella, but has been demoted to a "Quality Inn" now. Realistically, it should be demoted again to an Econo Lodge or Rodeway Inn. If you just need a place to crash, then it's fine. But many aspects are in disrepair. One of the elevators was out of order, and the other was quite sketchy, not delivering you to the floor of the button pushed and it seemed to get temporarily stuck at times, I quit using it and just used the stairs. One of the side entrances had a security lock that was broken, the kind that only allowed guests with a key card to enter. Instead of fixing the card lock, they just put a sign on it that said "Do Not Enter", but anyone could. Vending/Ice machines out of order. The attached restaurant/bar, is no longer a restaurant, and it's barely a bar. All tap beers are down. Just bottles now. It's shame, because it could be a nice property with some investment, but it's a long way from its heyday.

This was a horrible experience. There were hundreds of ants in the room. The response of the cleaning person was "there's ants in all the rooms". My room was cleaned that day but not the next. The ants returned. The advertised pool and work-out room were closed. The complimentary breakfast was anything but a compliment. Neither Expedia or the hotel would give a refund.

Not enough parking

Shower was not clean, old bar of soap, hair on walls. Stained/ripped sheets. Smell.

This hotel was completely run down and not at all what the pictures show. It was terrible the pool was gross and not clean with mold on the walls our room wasnt clean and had wTer leaking from the ceiling It was terrible.

I would never stay at this property again because of how dirty the property was.

The hallways in the building smelled bad, and parts looked as thou they might be under repair..but never finished.. the main part of our room was clean as expected, but the bathroom looked as thou it needed a deep cleaning, and parts of the fixtures were falling off in one manner or another

Filthy, no ventilation in bathroom. The carpets in the hallways are badly stained. And worst of all, the air smells heavily of cleaning supplies and mildew. It flared up respiratory issues and I needed to use my inhaler. The pictures are obviously AI enhanced, it looks nothing like the pictures. 1 star because at least the sheets were clean.

Dirty! As soon as you walk down the halls you know you made the wrong decision. Filthy doors. Walked into a stagnant smelly room with curtains tied in a knot. Bathroom had some kind of filth on the floor. Mattress pad had huge gross stain and ... bed bug feces. Parking lot had continuous shady activity . I left.

The staff we interacted with was pleasant. However , the property is really showing it’s age. It appears haggard and has seen better days. Our room was really dusty, the bathroom floor looked dirty. The walls even looked dirty. The bed was not bad and the linen appeared clean. Maybe the place is undergoing renovations.

Imformation on line was incorrect. There is no restaurant or roomservice. The front entry was unavailable for use, no help was offered with luggage or the bell cart. The room was dirty, the bathtul had mold around the edges, the ceiling paint was peeling, the toilet was constantly running and all the corners were filthy. We found an empty condom wrapper on the floor. I wont ever be staying there again and would not reccomend to anyone.

This hotel close to airport is the only good thing. During my stay there was several large stain on the pull out couch mattress, wallpaper was peeling off, stain on the king bed sheets, and the worst thing of all No Hot Water during my stay. I can say this was easily the worst hotel experience i have stayed in my whole 39 years of living. I'll never go here again, Big waste of time

I really thought this was going to be a nice hotel at first, that is until we got to our room. When entering the room it was completely outdated. Stains on curtains and bed sheets. 32” 15 year old television. The room and the bathroom was a stale yellow as if it had been a smoking room for years from the 1980s. Parking and staff was good. Breakfast was okay.

Hot, no air, water pressure was very low, toilets were hard to flush

First the jetted tub was broken the drain plug didn’t work and it was falling apart. The ceiling in the bath room was breaking and pieces of drywall were in the bath tub. Then the bed had bedbugs

There was a high pitch vibration noise coming from the plumbing. By 1130 pm we had enough and i went down to the front desk and told them about it with a few videos that clearly included the terrible noise. The carpet outside the bathroom wall near the bed was all wet as well. The maintenance guy came up and checked everything he could. Then told us he would tell management in the morning. Neither my qide or myself got much sleep. The noise wasn't constant unless someone nearby was using water. The high pitch squealing noise only happened about 60 or 70% percent of the time we were in the room.

The room with the jet tub, no hot water, couldn’t even take a shower, it was dirty as well. Definitely an older hotel, breakfast was good.

This is the third buget motel that we have stayed in over the past week. Was there a special on beige paint?, everywhere seems to be painted in the same beige outdated drabby paint. Anyway apart from that the overall experience was average, pillows yet again could be up dated to this decade. Shower was good, room was clean, bed not too bad. Included breakfast... well that needs some work, by the time we got to breakfast at 8.15, one cooked baymarrie was empty, we finished off the last milk. Best place so far... now to the next place.

It was a good place to rest while visiting friends for the weekend. Its an older building thats been renovated, but many aspects of the rooms remain outdated - doors, paint, ceiling/walls, little or no sound proofing. And double bed rooms are not queens like most - full beds make it difficult for two adults to rest easy. Heating/cooling system neds to be updated, bed closest blocks it from rest of the room and suffers with no way to adjust air flow. Overall, it was a clean hotel with basic needs being met.

Rented two rooms, one standard and second, handicap accessible. We could not connect to their WiFi and couldn’t call desk because phone had no cord connected to wall outlet. Second room, hairdryer didn’t work and tub/shower was slippery. Had to hold Shower wand because no place to hang it up. Soap & shampoo dispensers mounted to wall in awkward location to reach while seated on handicap seat. Beds were very good. Accidentally left iPad in room but was not turned in to management!

Thieves!!!!!! The room was reserved. Then received a phone stating they sold out for a private affair. My reservation was supposed to be transferred to another hotel nearby. Then they couldn't find me the system. And didn't receive my money back.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Problem with our room - we had booked a king bed with sofa sleeper but when we checked in they only had a king bed room. Didn’t work for us since our adult son was with us. They accomodated us with a different room with two double beds. Not as comfortable but a resolution. Beds were fluffy and comfortable.

Staff was amazing, from Tina to Nimesh, housekeeping and the other girls at the desk. Thank you!

Didn't get to stay there. Was called at 3pm to tell me that they didn't have the room i had reserved. They could send me to another hotel. When I got there they could only accommodate 2 people had 3 on my reservation and the entire lobby smelt like skunk. I called Clarion back and after some debate they agreed to put me in a Comfort Inn.

Friendly staff

I booked a room w/ king bed and pull out couch. Couch had no bedding at all. Asked fd for blankets and they said they didn’t have any. I said unacceptable that I booked two beds for a reason and he needed to find some. 30 minutes later I go to fd and he said there isn’t any, yet didn’t come tell me. I told him I know there are vacant rooms so go take blankets from one of those rooms. He just kept telling me over and over again no bedding in whole hotel. I told him I don’t care what he has to do my son can’t sleep on bare mattress with no blankets. Another 30 minutes go by and he finally brings us a blanket. Toilet barely flushed and shower would constantly switch from hot to cold water. Asked for refund of my pet fees due to inconvenience and fd agent said he’d ask manager later. Not holding my breath though.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The Hotel was well kept. Restaurants in walling distance. Continental breakfast was a good variety.

Distressed property- under new management that claims to be investing in improvements … All the close by restaurants were slammed and managed by teenagers - be forewarned

Only stayed one night and it is a decent place to stay for the price. Walkable restaurants, friendly staff. Breakfast wasn’t the greatest with juice machine broken and no other beverages other than coffee.

I needed an inexpensive hotel near the airport and it was very adequate for my needs

I liked that you can walk to a restaurant nearby.

Property is close to interstate but quiet. Easy access and staff very accommodating. Excellent room for the price point.

This was a 5 night stay. Bella was wonderful as a greeter and professional. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. I went to breakfast 3 times. The eggs appeared to be powdered. There were sausages. On Friday at 8:45 a.m. there were 2 sausages left. I just left. On Thursday and Friday the creamer was French Vanilla.... no regular creamer. Gross. There was only white bread - could make toast. I saw no pastries nor cookies. No fruit. No juice for 3 days, the machine was unplugged. No milk for children ( I didn't have a child with me this time) The attendant appeared sullen all 3 times.. no greeting... and I did not approach her, why would I ? the on=premise restaurant was closed most days but open from 5-10 pm on others, Did not bother going in. There was a maid - big lady - who parked in one of the 2 Choice hotel Platinum parking spots. I took a picture of the car but won't post it here as it includes her license plate. If the hotel reaches out, I will send it to the hotel. No reason to be a preferred Choice Guest, even for the parking. If I go back it will only be in hopes that they make changes.

Elevator near Handicap Accessible room was Out Of Service. Luckily they had a wheelchair for my disabled wife. As a senior citizen, it's hard to push someone in a wheelchair down the longest hall in the place. Breakfast was disappointing. Sausage flavored water they call gravy, cranberry juice was so watered down you could see thru it.

The breakfast was to last until 10:00 but when I went to get a waffle at 9:50, it was already cleaned up and not available for use.

This wasnt a bad hotel stay. Our front desk people were very friendly, although they charged me a check in early fee, even though the hotel was nearly empty. The room was clean and comfy. But there were hardly any tv channels and no guide telling us what was on. Overall though, comfy enough. The only thing I'll really complain about is the complimentary breakfast. We walked in, and what we saw were tiny white sausages swimming in grease and eggs that looked like yellow insulation. The cook was in the restaurant and complaining of her job. The bread was disgusting. The only thing that was fit to eat was the waffles I made myself. No juices, no water, no milk. Nothing only weak coffee. Absolutely atrocious. Thankfully the other parts of the stay were ok, so I won't complain too much. Also, our shuffle driver was excellent. He was an older gentleman and he had to drive us in his own car, as the shuttle vans were broken. He was a peach. Very very nice and kind. He deserves a raise. :)
