Overall not a bad experience. Great restaurant and bar and nice clean room. Unfortunately there are is no lift between floors so if you are not on the ground floor and have heavy suitcases good luck. I was asked for my credit card when I checked in which I presented to the lady on reception. Unfortunately she had no idea of how to use the terminal and after 4 attempts I had to stop her pressing accept each time she tried to put transaction through without my pin number. Luckily she didnt lock out the card but she then asked me what my pin number was!!! I obviously didnt give it to her.. But otherewise a good stay although I was only there for one night.

Although historically, interesting, the place is pretty shabby. Friendly staff in the hotel and in the adjacent restaurant. The breakfast was nice but hardboiled eggs were the only protein option. Nice to have coffee and tea service in the lobby along with fresh fruit. But the fitness center advertised as an amenity was 1.4 miles away from the hotel property which was a little bit inconvenient.

One of my best vacations to date! The room was nice, the bed was comfy and everything was incredibly clean! The mattresses had covers and basic toiletries were provided. Staff was very friendly and noise was at a minimum all night! I'll leave my comments about Old Salt for a different review, but I will say here the food was delicious, our service was quick and we WILL be going there to stay again!

Older property super well kept and clean, quaint and unique. A welcomed change from chain hotels for a business traveler. Very good seafood restaurant and lively bar room on site. Impressed with attention to cleanliness throughout.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast spread, great restaurant with live music on Friday. Housekeeping was ok but did not change the sheets or pillow cases when they made the beds nor did they clean the bathroom counter or toilet. I think they may have been training a new person? Having to empty the dehumidifier twice a day made it feel a little like home. Lol

Liked the canopy bed. Room was clean. Carpets need to be replaced. Room and Inn smelled musty. The continental breakfast was not as described. The yogurt, fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs we’re not kept cold. They were sitting on the table without any ice all morning long. I brought that up to the person working at the front desk as unrefrigerated food can spoil easily. Inn is in need of an overall upgrade. Annuals need a lot more care around the Inn and dining areas.

Wanted something with character, but this place is very tired. And very overpriced. Liked the real keys but once inside the rooms the linens were discolored and old. The towels were very nice but the bathroom is very small, which would have been fine for a lower price. The continental breakfast baked items did not seem fresh, coffee was not great…. I would not recommend this property. The check in staff was the only redeeming feature and they added the character!!

We’ve stayed here many times. Loved the restaurant on property, very quiet and quaint. Room was a little too dark even though there were plenty of lamps. Bed was a little harder than I remember but all in all it’s a very beautiful Inn and we will go there again. About 10 mins to the beach.

Room we had was very convenient, but very noisy early A.M. not sure if there was a bus tour gathering outside, but there were loud voices and slamming of doors…possibly could be room next door, or that we had the room next to the entrance.

We've stayed a few times, Lamies has an odd charm. But. The super hard beds and the incredibly bright light shining into the room at night made sleep impossible. The pub and Old Salt Restaurant are awesome, and next time we're in Hampton, we'll stay elsewhere and dine there for sure!

This place is very old and historic and conditions could use a lot of updating. We stayed in a double room which was quite small, but the bathroom was particularly difficult to navigate and Small. There was a sound of water dripping like a metronome happening in the walls of the bathroom the entire time. You could hear the people in the other rooms through the thin walls very easily. You could also hear the noise from outsidequite easily. The shower pressure felt more like a power, washer and hurt on our skin. The products for toiletries were very low-grade the pillows need to be replaced and were very lumpy and mushy. The beds were Quite easily. Part of the building's air or ventilating system was right above our room and ran all night. It was loud enough that i had to put ear plugs in to sleep. We had actually booked a room over the lounge that has a higher reviewer rating and we are guessing thats why. But, we were placed on the other side of the building. It was a tough 3 nights. The continental breakfast is great. Fresh pastries every morning and always something different. The man who made the pastries was very helpful and friendly. If not for the noise and lack of concern by staff, i would have given them a Very Good or even Excellent rating. Don't stay in Rm 41!

The historian at the front was extremely friendly. What a gem of a man. The inn itself was GORGEOUS! Even though the rooms were small, it felt like you stepped back in time. This red headed hostess with glasses was very standoffish though. Did not greet guests with customer service at all. Also the food was a 6.5/10. The mud pie was amazing but they served green beans as a side vegetable. Just plain boiled, absolutely no seasonings or sauteeing. Overpriced entrees a tad. Cocktails were great though and a good price.

I’ve been by this location hundreds of times never stayed or ate there. So this year we decided to stay great place love the old inn with brick walls. The room & bed was comfortable. The restaurant was fabulous. I can’t believe I had never eaten there before. I will definitely stay there again centrally located between Hampton and Portsmouth as well.

This our 4th year here … I got the seafood platter and the fried clams were rockey … my Girlfriend who also loves Old Salt and Lammies couldn’t eat her fried clams because they were rockey and not cleaned correctly… we stil payed the $160 bill

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Room service from the Old Salt restaurant was very good. Phone in my room didn't work but other than that everything was great. Comfortable bed. Plenty of pillows.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff is amazing. The complimentary breakfast is beautifully laid out, fresh and delicious. We ate two dinners at the hotel and the paid Sunday brunch and all were wonderful HIghly recommend this hotel/restaurant.
