Couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Santander. We didn't realize what a historic and impressive hotel this was until we arrived. Classic place. Beautiful grounds, amazing breakfast, helpful staff. Bring some walking shoes to explore the area. Free parking is key. Taxis are pretty cheap to get around the city if needed. Photo is a view from our room. We will come back!

El hotel es de muy buen gusto en interiores y arquitectura, tiene una muy linda vista al mar y a la playa de Somo… solo si recomiendo brindar más atención al desayuno ,mejorar las instalaciones y equipos del gimnasio y otorgar jabones de barra, el shower gel no es suficiente….

Beautiful and elegant hotel. The room with a balcony (Room 315) overlooking the sea was wonderful. Very spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. The linens were high quality. Lovely furnishings throughout the room and hotel. Large bathroom with a very nice shower. Parking on site was an appreciated feature as well. Highly recommended and would happily stay again.

Excellent Hotel. Arrived mid- morning, room ready! Departing early evening - keep the room until 2pm! Going to the beach - you’ll need some beach towels! This hotel couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The staff were so friendly. Muy buen, gracias.

Check in staff very helpful Room very nice Went down for dinner only to be told that the restaurant was. Loses and we could have a Bar meal! Not what we expect from a 5 star hotel which it’s clearly not as there are no leisure facilities and only food available is bar food - very disappointing

Really beautiful old hotel with gorgeous views. The rooms are a bit dated but still clean and comfortable with a great shower. The balcony was a little disappointing - just two little metal chairs and no table. Some other balconies had tables but some looked broken; a lot of mismatched furniture. We walked everywhere from the hotel, but be warned it is a top a very big hill! Worth it for the views.

Fantastiskt fint hotell! Rent, snyggt och trevlig personal. Kan verkligen rekommendera att besöka restaurangen kvällstid. Otroligt bra mat till en överkomlig peng. Hovmästaren Alejandro var helt enkelt fenomenal. Fiskrätterna var i en klass för sig.

Beautiful hotel and grounds and very attentive staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. The only problem with this hotel is that the restaurant never opened during our stay. Though bar staff is terrific and try to accomodate the guests with their limited meals. A long walk to the beach and the center of town.

If you are looking for a property on the beach or with convenient access to the beach, do not stay here. The hotel is situated on a small hill, but there is no way to walk directly to the beach without walking out the back and taking a long way all the way around. Also, the room was pretty dated but the bathroom was nice. Not sure about the rooms facing the water - these are more expensive and perhaps in better condition. Regardless, it was not a 5* hotel experience at all. There was no air conditioning one night, which was terrible (and no compensation was provided for this inconvenience). Service was mixed - two of the bartenders were great but one of the front desk staff was not.

The hotel and property were spectacular. I would highly recommend! My only issue was I wasn't able to set the thermostat to blow cold air; I tried all the settings and even placed it in auto mode. The room was a toasty 24 and it never went down from there, even when I tried setting it to 15. My wife also could smell cigarette smoke coming in our room when we had the windows open, clearly from other guests. That was a little bit annoying, but the hotel was first rate other than these minor inconveniences.

Hotel is exceptional, and a great value for the price. The views from the hotel are fabulous, and the grounds are nice too. The hotel is atop a hill a short distance from the beaches and town, however, so be prepared to walk a bit or arrange a (cheap) taxi

Tolles und ideal gelegenes Hotel. Man kann zu Fuß zum Strand und hat auch eine sehr gute ÖPNV Anbindung. Für den Hotelstandard waren zudem die Preise bei den Cocktails und Speisen wirklich okay. Wir würden es wieder buchen.

This was a lovely historic and very well appointed five star hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it. The breakfast was delicious too. The common rooms of the hotel are stately. And the bedrooms were very comfortable with gorgeous modern bathroom.

Alles war zur Zufriedenheit bis auf das äußerst dürftige Frühstück! Marmelade jeden Morgen das Gleiche:Erdbeer/ Pfirsich in kleinem Gläschen, purer Zucker! Stets den gleichen Schinken und Käse! Viel Süßes für wen? Kein Bestellen von Eierspeisen! Für Mitteleuropäer keineswegs 5 Sterne!

The hotel and surrounding area were beautiful, reception staff really helpful. Downside restaurant only open at weekend, bar snacks available but limited and pricy. Breakfast slightly disappointing both in quality and quantity compared to our previous stay. Also previous visit the bar was known for its gin and tonic.. not any more just slapped in a glass with.. wait for it.. a slice of dehydrated orange
