Mountain Valley Inn & Suites

The staff was friendly, and the room itself was generally clean. However, the property could use some care and updates. The faux wood flooring in the bathroom area was coming loose, shifting underfoot. The shower head had visible pink mildew, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Our “mountain view” included an old boat and some construction equipment below. The elevator had an unpleasant odor, similar to a bathroom. Breakfast was underwhelming — the pre-made pancakes in the display case didn’t look appetizing, and the coffee machine was out of order, so we settled for the in-room coffee, which was fine. The bed was clean and served its purpose for our short stay, but overall the hotel feels worn out. The parking lot was being repaved during our visit, but there was no notice about when sections would be blocked off, which caused a bit of confusion.

There was trash under the sofa, an old band aid on the light switch and was very dated. Management did offer to move us to another room, but it was worse than the one we booked. Sad because this place has potential to be super cute. Pool area was good. Bar was nice to have.

The room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable. The pool and hot tub were open and clean. The check in process was easy. The location is nice with lots of things and places to explore nearby.

This is a great budget hotel. Pool and hot tub, plus a bar with pool takes and arcade games. We would definitely return to take advantage of those. The rooms and common spaces are spacious and comfortable. Seemed to be a brand new mattress. Few things to work on like difficult locks, bathroom upgrades, better WiFi. But overall our stay was great and we look forward to coming back.

The stay was good. The facility is old. The bed is hard. The pillow is hard. Bed sheets and bed covers are old. The bath tub was old and no drain cover. Bathroom is small and exhaust fan is loud. Shower faucet is old. Evryrhing is old. The bathroom flooring is old and bowing. Parking is excellent. Breakfast was okay but could use more staff's attention as coffee was empty, pan cake was gone, bagels were gone when I got there to eat. It took for the staff a while to refill. Check in was fast though. If you are not picky, staying here is okay. Leaving rating at the middle to stay neutral to give them fair feedback.

Adequate. The shower kept fluctuating between hit and cold. Maintenance and trim work were substandard. But the location is great, beds are comfortable and the pool is clean

After driving 7 hours that day, we were looking forward to dinner in the hotel restaurant. Apparently its closed on Tuesdays! This should be stated in their advertisement. On check in, I asked where a laundromat was, directions were given to a few streets over. When we got to our floor I saw a sign for "guest laundry 1st floor". Sure enough, jt was there but it was filthy...liquid laundry soap caked on the machines. Wall dispenser to buy soap. .Out of Order!! Went to front desk and the girl stated "Oh, I have the soap, I just havent refilled it." After starting our laundry, the girl informed us the dryer "doesnt work to well"!! When she saw I was upset she offered the use of the hotel dryer. Later that evening I noticed a young man waiting on his clothes to dry....for a very long time. I mentioned this to the girl and she stated "Its hard to explain cause he doesnt speak English." So you're going to let this man keep feeding quarters into the dryer that doesn't work??? To end the visit...our toilet overflowed the next morning. Went downstairs to the desk, the man working gave me a bunch of towels to throw on the floor. To his credit, he gave me a key to another room so we could shower. Not a place I would ever stay at or recommend. Hotels.com should remove it from their list of hotels!

There is a lot of patch work on the walls, vinyl click flooring warped and smells a bit of marijuana in the hallway. The staff is friendly though. The pool is nice and it is convenient to have a restaurant in the hotel.

Shower rod coming loose from wall, not hanging properly, flooring coming loose in front of bathroom sink, missing sink plug, bedding seriously worn out not quality you would expect in hotel, bath linens worn out, carpet in room damaged areas. Place is in need of major refresh. However, staff and onsite bar/restaurant was great.

DIRTY - I have never left a hotel because of filth, but the obviously ignored filthiness of this room was remarkable. There were stains on the walls and door frames that anyone could have seen. The bed sagged on one side, SO bad... it was ridiculous. I responded to an automated email after the first night, asking how we were enjoying our stay and tried to solicit a 5*** review. I gave them a 2 at the time and complained about the bed. They responded stating that they would send maintenance up to take a look - never happened. Whatever.. Breakfast was a joke. HB eggs and then nothing but carbs. Tables not clean, food quality subpar. Tried the partner restaurant-fried chicken. Not bad - some pool tables, vids (3/5 vids were not turned on), couches - food was fair - my wife's order was completely wrong, but.. par for the course. Mine was fair. (I live in the south and know fried ckn) but this is not a review of the Ckn place - Back to the hotel, dirty... just dirty. Do not stay here.

We chose this hotel for its location and low price. It was okay for a one-night stay. The shower needs updating and did not drain. And we discovered a brown splatter on our blanket the next morning which was off-putting.

Had people in our group in 3 different rooms none smelled as bad as ours. tried to get a refund or any acknowledgement from the staff of the issue they seemed to brush it off and proceed to tell us. The dog could have gotten it "anywhere" only place the dog was the whole time was in the room or on a leash going to the bathroom.

Our room's mini fridge didn't work and toilet wouldn't flush. We were able to switch to a new room. But we didn't realize until after we were settled in to the room and unpacked. Inconvenient but it worked. The breakfast was pretty light and weak. At the very least I suggest fresh fruit.

I had to move rooms in the middle of the night, due to water ingress from room above. WiFi was very poor.

It was nice and great, i would give 5 star only becouse the WiFi sometimes it went off, but everything else excelente, clean, centric etc etc

Upon getting into our room there was a very unpleasant smell. Went back down to the desk and without any hassle they moved us to another room. Very helpful staff

When we arrived, there was a strong smell of chemical cleaning products with a hint of cigarettes (in our non-smoking room.) There was no ice bucket, the phone didn't work, no do not disturb sign. The TV wouldn't turn on; the front desk advised to "just play around with the cords." When we did that, it finally worked -- but then the remote didn't. Another trip to the front desk for batteries. The "continental breakfast" was one of the worst we've ever seen, with a few sad pastries, a few sad cereal selections, and some cold pancakes that apparently were meant to be heated up in the microwave. Perhaps our biggest issue, however, was that the side door to the stairwell did not have a card reader or lock on it. Anyone could walk right in at any time. The man at the front desk shrugged this off when we brought it up as a concern because "it's always been like that." Not good enough. I hope the new owners make some serious upgrades to this place because with some updates and more attention to the guest experience, it could be a good budget option in Summit County.

I didn’t feel safe there and let the front desk know. I turned in my keys after 10 minutes of checking in at the hotel. The staff refused to refund any of my three nights I paid for. My daughter almost died in the parking lot from a non-related matter, they still didn’t even care.

This place is ready for a complete update. I don't mind dated, but lots of little things in disrepair. The breakfast was extremely sad, limited, and poorly lit. I thought it was closed till I get up close to the room. The chandelier and multiple different lights bulbs, each on with a different color rendering and some blinking.

There was stuff like food or smudges on the walls. The pull out couch was completely broken and not usable. The continental breakfast was subpar. Never staying again.

If just good enough is ok with you, then this is your place. First off, we had to switch rooms after an hour, as the sink wouldn't drain, and maintenance was off for the night. Both rooms had stains on the bedspreads and the flooring in the bathrooms was coming up. The 2nd room's bedspreads was coming unraveled and should never have passed being made up by housekeeping. Lightbulbs were missing, and fixtures had holes just missing. The bright spot was that the staff was great. The breakfast may have been the saddest I have seen, even in lesser places. We wouldn't stay here again, even if the price is right, without some good improvements to the simplest things that are must-haves for any traveler.
