La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Sunrise

Like: Spacious room & good airconditioning. Good location (near Sawgrass Mills) Dislikes: I stayed here before & I must say that the hotel has deteriorated the last years. The hotel is in general dirty (hallways/bathroom/lobby/pool), service was terrible (we stayed 7 days & we only get once a roomservice). We had to beg for cleaning towels. Breakfast was poor (not even sausage or bacon) & for 3 days there was no breakfast available. I hope they can improved once again, because the location is good. Suggestion: they need to hire more workers for the hotel.

Hotel is listed as having a pool and a gym. There is no gym and the pool is closed. It also lists continental breakfast and there was none. Check in was done with a video device rather than in person. There was only one available, so this created a bottleneck. The elevator is incredibly slow, at peak traffic, it took us 30 minutes to get out of the building.

Pool closed no staff for help to check in all on computer. Very hard to change add or update reservations. Breakfast was very packed with no seating (5 tables of 3) and No parking

Check in was quick and easy. Room was great, so was the service of the employees. Pool and outdoor unkempt, but that could have been do to the recent hurricanes.

Good desk was friendly.Outside to much trash around the building broken bottles.Lighting not to good over grown by trees.

Lack of customer service when you deal with a video kiosk knowing good and well that the actual person that’s talking to you on the screen is actually in the room behind it. Elevator needs major update and maintenance. Breakfast was very lacking. A rat ran across the deck while we were eating breakfast on the pool patio. Exterior gave a false expectation of the interior, Hallways and rooms need major maintenance and updating.

I was surprise that the gym is gone. The breakfast is low key just eggs. My room towels would tear, they were old. Noticed the helpful bot portal, The area is great and close to shops

There has been no upkeep of the property. Weeds everywhere, fountain broken, pool is gross, elevator is out of service.

The carpet was sooooo nasty I had to wear socks and they turned black in moments. Furniture was stained and also a bit gross looking. No bugs or anything like that though. Having a microwave and fridge was nice. The free breakfast was sparse but better than nothing, coffee was decent. Definitely a mold issue throughout the hotel and the room was very humid so everything felt kind of damp. It's a budget hotel so I didn't expect much. Bed was comfy enough

See previous review that was given. Room was very dirty (left socks black) found previous visitors garbage, hair in the bed, in the shower. Nobody behind the front desk , ( automated check in/out) not many workers on site. Looked like the carpets hadn’t been clean in a loooong time. Would not recommend.

The rooms are not cleaned and sanitized. They do not regularly check their rooms. Our room faucet was broken and water was all over the counter. The rooms smell horrible moldy. They changed the room because a plumber needed to do some repairs. The other room smelled worst than the first one old moldy and like wet dirty dusty rug in a room that was closed up with the a/c going.

I booked three rooms for three nights for my family. In the room I stayed in with my wife, I was woken by a cockroach crawling on the sheets. I got up and captured 8 different cockroaches in the room. The windows had black mold around the frames and the room had stains all over the carpets. La Quinta although is a more budget friendly hotel, it is still a Wyndham Hotel and I expect better. This hotel should be removed by Hotels.com and should not be advertised until things are changed at this hotel.

The rooms , corridor and elevators were dirty. The room was in poor condition and needs tobe renovated. The panel in the elevator was loose and the numbers did not illuminate when pressed. The elevator floor was dirty. The corridor carpet needs to be shampooed. The room was poor. The mattress was warned and lumpy.Th tub was discolored and the shower rack was loose. There were also roaches in the room.

Everything was dirty, the bathrooms were old, the carpet was ancient, and it smelled awful.

Horrible stay. Nasty room and bathroom. There were hair everywhere in the bathroom, that I had to wash the walls and tub with hot water before using the shower. The floor and carpet were so disgusting dirty that my socks were black after walking on with it, and I found a roach on the sink. The bed headboard had brown stains from people resting their back against. Unfortunately, only saw those stains and roach next day at daylight because I got the room late at evening, and the light inside room was so crappy that the room was very dark. The breakfast they say they offer is a joke. Every single item I tried to eat tasted like crap, and old that I had to throw away, including coffee, and I’m a coffeeholic. The mattress and pillows were so uncomfortable that I kept tossing and turning all night long, and I’m a heavy sleeper. When I mentioned those problems to the manager next day, they basically didn’t care at all. I even showed pictures of the roach, and they did nothing about it. Only said, he would talk to the management next meeting. No apologies to me, not even showed that he cared.

Pool was advertised as open, it was closed. Nobody ever at the front desk (automated check in check out) rooms were dirty (carpet left socks black) hair in the bed, hair in the shower, pull out bed was unusable (dirty) found previous visitors garbage in bed the room. Gum on the carpet in the corner of the room. Very few workers on site, and they weren't very helpful. The photos on expedia are great, the actual site is not. For the price that was paid, we expected more. Would not recommend.

The best thing was the hot water pressure and the staff was very nice! The hotel is outdated, no blankets, only clean the room if u stay over 3 days on request. We had a non smoking room but the scent was allll in the hallways! They had a Kleenex box container with no tissue. Overall just not much amenities.

There was a bug in bathroom, there was a noise at the bathroom, very bad internet at the room and lobby. Worst stay ever

Some of the things I didn't like are... Check-in and front desk staff are primarily remote. The only ice machin is on the ground floor. Only 1 elevator and that run very slowly. In the room, the AC unit was very very loud, as was the bathroom light/fan combo unit. The bed was uncomfortable, the fridge dirty and the room had a musty smell. Free breakfast was mediocre, toast, bagel, waffle and and strange looking egg patties.

Room air condition loud and horrible. The rug seemed like it has not been cleaned very often. Suffered from a lot of allergies. When in healthy left the hotel with a Sore throat, Cold, red eyes every night. Had to check out early. Couldn't stay anymore.

The hotel could use some upgrading. The sleeper sofa was a very thin almost like sheet on a metal bars, impossible to sleep on. The shower floor was stained black ane there was dirt and dust around the room. It was nice to have breakfast included.

The building is old so no matter how much you clean it doesn't look clean, there was strong odor of bleach that was mixed with the musty smell of the old carpet. The sheets didn’t match and thats all you got were sheets no blankets. The bed was very uncomfortable, no pillow top like the description

Room was dark. Bathroom was broken. Room was next to the elevator and loud. Hotel needs updating.

Checkin is fast with a virtual assistant from Overseas. Convenient yet impersonal. I was fine with it as it kept the cost per night low. AC was loud all night. Toilet didn’t flush on first try. Door of bathroom was all peeling - room 411.

Great location, reasonably priced, but the beds were totally worn out. The hotel could use some upgrades and cleaning.

I stayed at the hotel prior however this trip was different. The check in was AI with little staff to actually speak with regarding new towels toiletries etc

The automated check in took forever. There was a long line. Also, no air conditioning in the lobby when I check in made it miserable. I understand automation but not having a real person behind the desk made it feel less welcoming.

Staff is friendly and professional

Unfortunately I was not happy with my stay. Upon arrival there was a line of two other parties checking in with a virtual meeting kiosk, no employees in sight (in fact I never once saw an employee). While efficient the check in process was not courteous and many had issues. I advised the agent I had already paid and only approve the deposit being placed on my card, he assured me it would only be 100$ deposit, I’ve been changed again for the night. The deposit fell off, but the room night cleared again, not what I was expecting. The room was terrible. It smelled like a pool locker room; like chlorine, mildew and body odor. There was discolouration on the ceiling and wet patches. The bathroom lights wouldn’t stay on, and the tub so old its enamel had been worn away, it desperately needs to be resurfaced. All the light fixtures were covered in rust and there was grime on the walls and in the corners. The AC unit worked, but pumped out freezing cold wet air, I took that as a pro (we are in Florida), but the blankets were shoved in a drawer (that wasn’t even closed when I arrived) and stained. While the beds looked made, due to the state of the blankets I was wary. All in all, while it was close to the Amerant Bank Arena, I spent one uncomfortable evening and will not be recommending this hotel to anybody. I will be waiting the customary 7-10 days before disputing any charges that don’t fall off with my credit card company.

The check in process was very unique with a kiosk with a live video of an agent. Very responsive and real time conversations. When issues arose, an actual agent on the premises came to our assistance. The room was good and clean and comfortable. What ever short coming the room had were quickly rectified but the staff. The staff was very helpful and accessible. Location was very good. Close to sawgrass mall which was our prime reason for this trip. Easy to find and central to a lot of places. Check out was a breeze and I would definitely come back for another trip.

Vasu, the front desk attendant was awesome. He was very friendly and made the whole stay great.

People who work there are all some kindness and compassion people who are willing to help others in whatever situation they can

Just so so, good price and locational

We came here on a medical trip and the hotel is in a great position for Cleveland clinic and also Sawgrass. It was quiet, friendly and comfortable. The gentleman on the front desk was very helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely go back.

Nice place to spend holiday Only issue might be the location which 1 hr drive from miami and about 25 minutes drive fort Lauderdale beach.

5 mins from Walmart and sawgrass mills proved to be very convenient for shopping.

Nice staff and location.

The property location was very convenient and close to shopping, food etc which was great. However the area around the property needs maintenance. The rooms were okay for just a place to rest your head.The room and hotel need a lot of upgrades. The shower and sink were clogged. Room had a smell. Elevator stopped working but was repaired quickly, it was very sketchy. Staff were very friendly and accommodating the whole time. Overall for the price it was not bad.

They ran out of breakfast at the last minute room service my bed was not made up on the housekeeping does not speak any English I asked for two towels to make it my bed she never came back I had to call the front desk to make up my bed and give me some towels if they going to hire somebody make sure they speak English

It would be generous to rate this property at one and a half stars. No Kleenex...did have a plastic container but no box or kleenex. Pretty dirty and outdated. No hand towels, exactly 2 bath towels and exactly 2 wash cloths. Sink drain very slow. No coffee for breakfast..the containers were there but no coffee in them and no person in sight. When we checked out 30 min later a girl took the containers back to be filled..we were done with breakfast and didn't wait. Refrigerator very loud. No one to check out with at the counter until I waited 10min for the self service machine to be available.

The only thing thst was provided as far as complimentary breakfast was eggs. Nothing else but eggs and bread. I'm sure they serve more in prison at least meat.

Arriving, immediately the lawn amd grounds were not kept well. Entrance clean and ok. Carpet on room floors, look old. I had to the housekeeper for a remote and the tv wire was lose had to keep adjusting to watch tv. Bed was comfy. Water was nice and hot. I wish the sink wasnt at the entrance.n Breakfast was not continental. No meat nor fruits. That needs to be revamped.

I recently stayed here for four nights, and my experience was unfortunately far from ideal. Upon entering, the lobby was welcoming—clean, nicely decorated, and diffusing a pleasant scent. However, the rooms told a very different story and are in serious need of updating. The first thing I noticed was an unpleasant odor in my room. The carpet looked worn and could have used either a deep cleaning or replacement. During my entire stay, I never once saw housekeeping. My sheets were never changed, the bathroom was never cleaned, and if I wanted fresh towels, I had to go to the front desk to get them myself. The hotel offers a continental breakfast from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m., but by 8:45 a.m., there was hardly anything left. On my last two mornings, I ended up going elsewhere for breakfast because there was simply no food available that late in the time window. For the price I paid, I expected at least basic daily upkeep of the room. Sadly, that never happened. I will not be staying here again. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little more for a place that provides proper service and comfort.

A better breakfast option will be welcomed or at least alternate every other day. Staying for 1 week with the same breakfast each day is not it.

We don't like the breakfast, was very poor. The egg was cold and the tray was empty. No employe in the area. We go to another Quality Hotel in Orlando, and the breakfast was very good. They have eggs, bacon, oranges, bottles of milk, pancake, etc.
