Urban Apartments Melbourne on Elizabeth

Property in great location, big spacious rooms, only thing I did want to mention, it was a little difficult getting into the bath/shower for me as I have bad hips, but that’s just me. Pool wasn’t open either.

Great stay. Perfect location with parking at Melbourne Central, check in around the corner and walking distance to great food/shopping etc. scooters nearby made getting around the city a breeze.

Right in the heart of the city, but very quiet. Essentially like being able to rent a proper unit for the entire stay. Secure. So close to Bourke St Mall and Chinatown.

Room was not cleaned at all from previous customers. Air con not working. False advertising of pool & features eg no daily paper. Poor customer service & terrible management

Maintenance needs attention, but the staff were fantastic and assisted in rectifying. Any issues. Great location and good facilities

We were quite surprised with the 1 bed apartment. It was spacious, clean, quiet and it had everything we needed. Even had an internal Washing machine. The location was brilliant. Right in the centre of cbd . We heard very little traffic noises. The checkin staff were lovely to deal with. Building secure. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning next time we are in Melbourne.

Hotel was in a convenient spot in the city. No amenities. Limited reception.

The property was in very bad condition and was filthy. We arrived late in the evening and check-in by getting our key from a lockbox. The instructions were good and the obtaining the key was fine. However, when we got to the room we were shocked by how dirty it was. The plates weren't clean. The bathroom was disgusting. The carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in several months. There was dust and dirt everywhere. Additionally, the shower water fluctuated from burning hot to ice cold continuously. We notified them through the app that night and the next morning went to the front desk to ask for another room. The first thing the person asked was if we took photos of the room. We did and responded as such. He said that we needed to email the photos to him before he can give us a new room. It was strange to us that there was no apology or other question, just asked if we had proof. They provided us with another room, which was cleaner than the first, but still disgusting. The shower was better in that the fluctuations in the temperature were not as great. We didn't receive the "gift of wine" as stated in the listing. Definitely would not stay in this place again and would encourage the health department to shut it down.

The digital key system did not work, the reception desk closes between 11 and 2, on the day of check in several others booked in along with myself were left waiting for an hour until someone turned up to do check in. Several of those guests waiting called the contact number and we were told to have patience and someone was on way. The person that turned up apologised as management did not roster someone for that afternoon. The common areas were dirty, the room was dirty, crumbs throughout the kitchen cupboards, shower was mouldy and smelt poorly. Overall a poor experience and won’t be staying again.

Staff were lovely and check in was super easy. Location was fantastic. Apartment was roomy and comfortable but getting a little tired. Shower was hot and good water pressure. There was dust on the dining chairs and the shower grout while clean was definitely showing its age but this wasn’t a big deal. I would definitely stay there again next time I’m in Melbourne

Thoroughly enjoyed being in Melbourne city centre. The apartment is very comfortable. The bathroom shower recess needs a good scrub. Had an issue with the check in app. Can be tricky if it's after hours & your app isnt down loading as the reception is inattended. There is however, a phone number.

The apartments were ok value for what was paid however furnishings were marked and worn, carpet was threadbare and shower lacked a working fan.

Unit was a little dusty. Don't think it has had a good clean for some time. Also our unit had mould in the silicone around the bath and needs replacing. Not too noisy and a good view of the post office clock.

Didn't like the cleanliness as alot of dust and when apartments supposed to be serviced not cleaned very well.

The hotel was tired and the room and common areas where shabby and not that clean.

Room did not look like the picture, communication was bad on how to enter the property to check in. Room was not clean, still had other peoples belongings. Would not recommend

We liked the size of the rooms, the large windows and also being able to open the windows for air.

Positives - Very spacious rooms, like an apartment. Very competitive price. Located in CBD, walkable distance to many dining, shopping and transport options. Easy check-in. Great service. Negatives - found two pieces of broken glass under the couch. Washer and Dryer was a great add however they take longer than normal to wash and dry. Cable tv was buffering.

Wifi unsatisfactory for this location

Great location and a spacious room, but there was no wifi available at all, which I didn’t know until I got to my room. As an international traveller this was very disappointing and inconvenient. The hotel was pretty good value, but overall a very average experience. The room was clean, but the air con didn’t work properly and the room felt lived-in and outdated.

Great location, nice property overall, but two complaints- no WiFi, and not a single usable outlet in the bedroom. Very annoying for nighttime charging of electronics.

It was convenient but noisy through the night due to our room facing the main street. Street noise made it difficult to sleep. Not double glazed windows.

Location location Stay here a couple of times during the last few years but the rooms are getting a little tired. But the room has 2 bedrooms and 2 separate bathrooms! Fantastic for travelling with older adults.

I had the most bad experience in my travel life, when arrived to the hotel at 8:10pm, to understand that at 8pm the reception closed and they simply canceled my 5 days reservation which I made a few months ago! Leaving me and my wife to find alternatives so late. Someone came to open only after more than an hour of begging and refusing. It is very sad to find tgis sort of behavior for customers

Had stayed several times before but has since changed ownership / management. No onsite staff. Like a ghost hotel. Lobby shabby and lack of cleaning in common area and lift. Have to check in around the cutter but steps up to reception. No option to call if any issues as room phone doesn’t work. I stayed in 1015.

No one at reception desk ever !!! Very bad check in and out experience. And to get a receipt is like going to the dentist for an extraction.

Overall the accommodation is good, traffic and street noise would be normal for a central city location so all good. We were on the 9th floor so the view down Elizabeth st from our corner apartment was nice. The check in was a nightmare, admittedly not a standard check in, my brother arrived early in the afternoon then went out to meet a friend for dinner. I arrived later after the reception was closed so I requested they left a key in the secure key safe for my arrival. When I got there I collected the key (actually 2key cards) and went to the accommodation, all good. Then I went out to get some food on return only one key card worked. At 12:30am was woken by a phone call my brother’s keycard had stopped working so I let him in. Just as well one out of the 3 cards continued working. Problem fixed by reception in the morning- no apologies!

Good location, easy access to lots of things. Unfortunate issue with check in and no staff available kind of spoiled the mood.

We were very happy with the ease in every way to stay at this property. The room was available earlier than stated which was immensely great for us as we had travelled a long journey. Very convenient to everything in the CBD, and very quiet, peaceful for sleeping. The apartment was GREAT! We will be back! Thank you.

Great location but the noise of the construction is of an u holy hour that is disruptive

For the price of my room I really wasn’t expecting a lot but was so pleasantly surprised. The room was big with everything I needed, the welcome treats were an added bonus and the bed was comfy, right on Elizabeth so close to all transport, some great malls and food places. The room did have aircon but it was set to 22, being from Wellington I would have liked it a bit colder to sleep but the control wouldn't let me lower it, the shower could do with a mould spray but honestly I can’t complain the room was great.

Had stayed here while it was under Ascott's Somerset management, and now under the new management of Urban Apartments. Location wise it is fantastic and very convenient. House-keeping is now on request (which is fine), but the cups in the apartment were cracked / chipped and certainly showing their wear and tear. Please consider better maintenance in the apartments. Nevertheless, the reception staff were helpful, and emailed us when our room was ready, and were always attentive. The complimentary snacks in the apartment were very nice too! Thanks for a lovely stay.

Amazingly spacious room for myself and guest. We really enjoyed the beds as they were nice and soft. Loved the provided treats although we didn’t get through the wine.
