Two grandparents with two grandkids for a two-night stay, principally to visit the source of the Mississippi. Let me get the negatives out of the way: no elevator, no restaurant, and no on-site gym. What we liked: the location, the multi-use great room, and the pool. The hot and cold breakfast got us off to a great start each morning. The staff was helpful. The great room has many comfortable seating areas. This place would be great for a family reunion or a convention of friends. We would 100% stay here again, but would reserve a ground floor room.

The hotel property was nice. The room was nice. The breakfast was good. The only downside was that there was no elevator and I had heavy bags for work. But the night desk clerk fid help me with my bags which was very nice.

The room was clean, the staff was responsive to any needs, and the breakfast buffet was good. However, there are no elevators to the second floor and no USB plugs in the rooms. There are no windows to the outside in the rooms. The decor in the hotel is old and outdated. Lastly, the old HVAC could not keep up with the heat. However the wonderful staff brought me a fan that cooled the room significantly. Overall, I might stay again if the prices were a little lower.

We liked the lobby! Very nice. Liked the rooms! They were soooo big, loved the long bathroom vanity! The only thing that was a surprise was no elevator to the second floor. We did fine but decided to leave some things in the car so we didn’t have to haul things up the stairs. The breakfast was very nice. They could use to keep the hot foods hot and it would be better.

Clean room, helpful staff, clean pool, breakfast was good, balcony set up was bit unorthodox but not an issue, water pressure in the shower was lacking but overall this was the best hotel my family has stayed at in a long time. This small charming town had better accommodations than the last 2 Marriott's we have stayed at in big cities.

The hotel had a decent comfortable bed and the chairs were quality. The microwave in room 208 wouldn't heat anything., otherwise the fridge was a good size and kept items cool.

Our room was very warm. Had the air conditioner turned down and still wouldn’t get cooled down. Called and talked to front desk. They said they would have to turn down system. Room never cooled down. Was still warm all night.

We have stayed at this property multiple times when it was under different management and it was just OK however the best in the area. Now since it’s been taken over by best Western, we’re very impressed! Nice big refrigerators, the rooms were very clean and the front desk operator was constantly cleaning in the common areas. Overall, it’s just much nicer than it used to be.

Clean rooms, great included breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Easy convenient location. Our stay was for 5 nights. Last one was unexpected because of a severe storm at our next stop. They were great to get us an extra nights stay even though they were at or near capacity. Actually were able to keep the room we had on the first 4 nights, which was unexpected. Daily room service. Comfortable beds. Could use some updated pillows, but minor.

We had a great stay at Heartland Inn. Austin, the front desk clerk, was kind and helpful. The room and facility are clean. Our stay was comfortable even with a windstorm that knocked the power out for a bit.

The check in person was very pleasant but they incorrectly informed us that breakfast ran to 10 the next morning due to it being a holiday, even though it was a weekday. When we took our kids down to breakfast at 9:40 the next morning the food that was out was dried out eggs and rubbery french toast. Thankfully they had a pancake making machine. We noticed not everything was out and the cool case with yogurt etc was locked. When we went to the front desk and mentuined that lookimg for assistance the woman that realinded (who was in jeans amd a sweatshirt so we assumed she was a guest) in. Very snotty tone said "Uh yeah, because breakfast is over" We told her the person tbat checked us in told us it went until 10 and she respnded "What? WHO told you that" then she rolled her eyes, sighed, and unlocked the case and told us "help yourself then" It was a little ridiculous. And the place was odd. Sound carries a lot, I could hear conversations verbatim being held in the atrium when in my 2nd foor room and we had a "balcony" room but the balcony was just overlooking the breakfast area. If we had paid extra for it I would have asked for a refund. Overall poor sleep, not the worst but definitely not the best.

The location of the property was perfect for the activities we had planned. There was free parking for hotel guests but it was a hard to find a spot during games & the peak times at the onsite restaurant. (Overall it wasn't a huge issue because there's a parking garage next to the hotel). There were plenty of breakfast options & the attendants kept it clean & well stocked. The evening front desk receptionist was friendly & accommodating. He had great suggestions for activities & restaurants in the area! In the evenings there was a complimentary "Happy Hour" with drinks, chips, pretzels, popcorn, etc available. We would definitely stay here again!

The prettiest and cleanest hotel Ive stayed at in a long while. The decor was of high quality and tastefully done. The pool and hot tub were clean and we'll supplied with towels.(Could add a couple more small tables in pool area). The complimentary am breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. I will definitely stay here again. Downtown was nearby & plenty of choices of restaurants nearby.

Nice location has a pool we’ve been coming here for decades the kids didn’t think the breakfast was as good as last year but said it was adequate I paid the bill. It was close to $1000 for two rooms for two nights.

The hotel is clean, service is phenomenal, and they have the beat free breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. Their central atrium creates a space to gather outside of your room. Lots of free parking, and other town amenities are nearby. We were in Park Rapids as part of our visit to the Headwaters of the Mississippi at Lake Itasca State Park. The hotel was a little over 30 minutes away.
