Hotel was beautiful, room overlooking the beach/ocean/pool and grounds. Great pool, beach bar was excellent, location to a mall and other restaurants was a 5 minute walk, staff were so friendly. The only thing that was a little deceiving were the myriad of charges, several tax fees, the resort fee, parking fee, so many fees it was hard to figure out what we owed.

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa at Kaanapali Beach was a dream location. The resort itself if laid out so thoughtfully and beautifully, loved the winding pool and bridges along with convenient walk up food-stands/bars and being steps away from the amazing beach. The staff was super friendly as well. We can’t wait to return!

This resort is outstanding. I'll list the very few negetives I can think of. As of June, 2025, expect to pay $27 for a burger, $25 for chicken strips, $50+ for steak or seafood, $17- $21 for mixed drinks. Breakfast will be $30 a person or $40 for the buffet. All the lounge chairs will be claimed by 9am; shaded chairs gone by 7am. Nobody will be at them, just towels and maybe a book. Daily self parking is $40 in addition to the $50 daily resort fee. Otherwise... it's beautiful, convenient, ocean views are world class, and the beach is incredible. We love it.

Room service was really poor , everything too expensive , mattress uncomfortable , duvet was made of plastic . The concierge advised us places for sight seeing without any consideration for our age and physical ability , without advising us to wear adequate footwear s d clothes and without saying how incredibly far away it was ! All together for the price of $480 room per night ,i was disappointed

Our stay at the Sheraton was amazing! We had a ground floor room with a lanai. The room was clean and spacious, and my kids loved playing around on the large grass area outside. The lazy river pool with a small slide was a hit. You can walk right onto a swim-able beach and rent patio chairs and an umbrella which made beach days perfect! The hotel location is walkable to many great restaurants and Whalers village. Everything we needed was at our fingertips.

It was clean and the front desk staff were helpful. I would like to see more dining options and more activities and amenities. The game room was closed during our stay and the tennis and pickleball was never available. There were many people from outside using pools and pool chairs so the pools were always crowded !!!

Resort was nice, right on the beach and large pool. The pool was pretty cold and the hot tub was broken one of the 2 days we were there. A few restaurants, very expensive but I guess inline with other touristy restaurants on Maui. No room service, not sure it was a staffing issue but room service was listed on the room phone.

The property overall was great — the restaurants, beach, and spa were all excellent. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. There were unexplained stains on the walls, a dead cockroach inside the room, and several others spotted outside. The carpet appeared old and visibly dirty. The bathroom was especially concerning, with noticeable hairs, rust, black mold, and sand present. While the rest of the experience was enjoyable, the condition of the room made it feel unclean and detracted from an otherwise great stay

The rooms are very run down and need remodeling. Motel 6 is a couple of levels better than this. Our friends staying had cockroaches in their room and were told that it is common. The only thing saving it is the great location. Their included breakfast option is weird that it can only be ordered and for buffet you need to pay extra. Why not make it easier and just include buffet. Otherwise great chill and relaxed place. Now too crowded.

This is my 4th stay at the Sheraton Maui Resort and Spa. I can’t say enough about it. I always ask to stay in the Moana section. It’s the most secluded section of the resort. This section has the most amazing views of the ocean. If you are coming for whale watching season, you can just sit on your balcony and watch in the morning and evening to see them. The rooms were furnished nicely and very clean. This resort is walking distance to Whaler’s village for some great dining. Or it’s a very short drive to Lahaina for dinner at many of the restaurants that have recovered since the fire. If you play golf, you have many choices near the resort. I’ve stayed at two other Ka’anapali resorts, but they do not compare to the Sheraton. You will love it!

I stayed in Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa for 3 nights. The second day, they forgot to clean up my room. I called one time at 3pm and they told me they will come a few mins. But I waited that until 5:45pm nobody showed up to clean my room. So, I must go to the front desk to request service my room. The hotel room is not cheap and I must pay the service fee but I can not believe that they forgot to clean up my room. I think you should improve your service. Thank you! Ashlyn Dang

We’ve stayed here before and it’s sad to see the conditions of the landscaping, pool, smelly stale closet that made our close smell terrible, cracked sink that smelled like sewer when you get close to it as your brushing your teeth. As expensive as it was and the surprise resort fees and parking fees really not worth the money!!! Dried up grass areas everywhere, balcony planter had weeds and no plants anymore sad to see management doesn’t care much about the deteriorating resort that once was in way better shape!!! Site seeing other resorts and couldn’t help to notice their pristine landscaping. I upgraded my room to celebrate our anniversary and was very disappointed!!!

I had stayed at this resort 10 years ago. I paid for a partial ocean view as well as my friend who also booked their own room as such. Her balcony was huge and mine which was in the adjacent building was so small a single person let alone a couple could not actually sit on the balcony. The bathroom has been renovated but the toilet didnt work and the old ratty carpet stunk of sweat. For what they charge it was a disapointment!!

Amazing location - cannot beat it in kanapalli .. near black rock beach water turtles amazing — way bette than Westin or others I was looking at location wise .. away from Whaler village chaos but walkable to it - so best of all .. location waist … but bar food and drinks not that great and rooms very old .. carpets and furniture old - had beautiful view from balcony so did not matter the room - old style very nice people .. I am glad I was there and not near Westin or whalers …

It was just alright. Expected more from a Sheraton property but the rooms were dated and the bathtub/shower was tiny. Overall whole bathroom was tiny. You couldn’t sit on toilet without your knees hitting the toilet paper holder. Was a very average experience. Property is nice. Beach was great. Dinner restaurant selection on property was limited and they stop giving out towels for the pool/beach and start closing bars early in the afternoon. Will stay at Westin next time.

Grounds and location are fantastic. The only complaint I have is the room shower or specifically where the shower head was located. Instead of putting it on the short side of the shower (think rectangle) it was on the long side. That plus a curtain instead of shower door caused water to get all over the floor. To avoid that we took shower handle off and be very arre careful

We had an absolutely wonderful view from our room. We could see sea turtles swimming in the cove right out of our balcony. The pool, bars, and beach access were very nice as well. Our only complaint was that the A/C in our room did not keep up.

The first room l was assigned was not what l paid for. It only had a partial ocean view, with the majority of the view being another building. I could not sleep the entire night because of the noise level. The room was very noisy the entire time. I believe it was connected to the elevator shaft.

We arrived one hour early but room was not ready for next 50 mins. For others, they were able to checked them in, so not sure. Person who checked in was okay but other staff was not friendly ( kinda bit rude considering it is Marriot brand) overall, not worth the money we spent

This visit was disappointing and I would not recommend, or go back. We had some staff that were kind and helpful and others that were terribly rude and unhelpful so it really spoiled the experience. I booked the Sheraton because of the location and expected high standard from Marriott but would not choose it again. I paid for an upgraded room to see the ocean and had only views of the cabanas and bar that surround the pool. This is a huge property yet the morning yoga class was held right outside our patio so no sleeping in on vacation. Anytime you do a room charge the resort charges your credit card for 50 to 100 dollars regardless of the amount of the room charge. When I asked about this I was given many different versions of the billing and how it works. The reported activities may or may not happen, the front desk staff was unable to tell me where they were happening, and they change times without notification so be prepared to not be able participate. For example 730 yoga may be at 7 or may be at 730. The onsite dining options are limited and two of the three we selected were incredibly poor service. The Teppanyaki restaurant was overpriced, poorly cooked food in addition to disappointing service. The Lu’au we attended was also posted all different times from the onsite signage to the time on our tickets to the varied communication from staff. Times range from 4:30 to 6:30 so you stand with hundreds of attendees in the hot sun waiting to be seated.

The resort itself was lovely. The lazy river, the views from the room and black rock beach. The bar and restaurants are great. Good drinks and food. The room is small with the two double beds. The bedding is terrible. No fitted sheet just a lose sheet over the mattress. Room service only attended to our room on time in the four days we were there and we never had clean towels or clean linens and the dirty linens were piled and trash as well. The bell man didn’t help us with our bags and the people working the towel kiosk by the pool were rude. We inquired into how much a cabana would be and they stated it wasn’t the listed price on the wall it was higher but they didn’t know how much. I made a comment like it should be the listed price on the wall and they said basically we do what we want in Hawaii, deal with it. It was strange.

This property is attached to the walkway that lines the entire beach and connects all of the hotels and restaurants on Kaanapali Beach. Approx 1.3 miles in length. Most of which is concreted. Great way to walk off the meals! Kaanapali Beach is absolutely beautiful and Black Rock is a great place for snorkeling and scuba driving. The sand is clean and has little to no debris.

This could be a lean to and I’d still say it’s the greatest. This is BLACKROCK! It’s sacred and it’s awesome! Property is huge and has all manors of lodging. They have classic Hawaiian dishes and performances. Best part, it’s on Kaanapali beach. With waves as high 15feet sometimes coming in. Sometimes, it’s only a foot. Whichever, doesn’t matter, because it’s one of the greatest beaches in the world. Shopping within walking distance. Food within walking distance. Whales within walking distance. Cmon. That’s funny. Always great staff. Always fast check in. Always accommodating.

Gorgeous views of Black Rock and Kaanapali Beach from our balcony. Beautiful sunsets. The best snorkeling is at Black Rock. We saw a dozen spotted rays, lots of turtles, and hundreds of fish in the coral reef past the diving rocks. Walk to Whaler's Village for dining and shopping. The best resort on the best beach!

The best location for easy access to snorkeling around Blackrock. Also an easy 10 min walk to Whalers Village for restaurants and shopping. Also easy access to the Ka’anapali trolley, and West Maui bus for transportation to and from the Cannery Mall in Lahaina. Room and general resort area do show a bit of wear and tear but overall everything kept clean and tidy. Resort staff are all very friendly and helpful. Resort also includes a lot of recreational activities and a very large pool area.

We’ve stayed at several hotels on Maui, and this is now our favorite. Loved starting out our day with morning yoga and a workout at the gym, followed by drinks by the beautiful pool, snorkeling by the black cliff, and a stroll along the beach to Whalers Village for dinner.

Nice hotel with a great beach near the black rock snorkeling spot. Pool was nice, but the hotel was “high volume” — a lot of people go through there and I think they have to work hard to keep the place clear, which they do pretty well. We stayed in a deluxe suite with 4 people which was very comfortable and a step above the standard room. We really liked it. We ate most of our meals at the resort, which was very expensive, but the food was decent. Overall, this was a great family trip.

Our stay at the Sheraton Maui was overall great. Continue to be frustrated by Marriott not extending Bonvoy status perks when rooms are purchased through third party. Lifetime status - should give you status on any property - no matter how you purchase. The on property dining was good - but VERY limited menu. And call me old-fashioned, but I HATE getting room service in a paper bag. If I'm willing to pay $80 for breakfast - put it on a tray with glass plates and silverware please. The staff was great - friendly and attentive. Certainly can recommend the Ocean Front King - 3516 was center to the property with amazing views of Black Rock, the beach, the pool area, and the ocean. Great property location.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sheraton Maui Resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and completely immersed in the beauty of Maui. The location is incredible, waking up to the ocean views, spending time on Kaʻanapali Beach, and watching the sunsets from the resort were some of our favorite memories. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and the entire resort had such a relaxed, welcoming island feel. We loved spending time by the pool, exploring the beautiful grounds, and enjoying the convenience of having everything we needed right there. The atmosphere was peaceful, the views were unforgettable, and it truly felt like the perfect place to slow down and enjoy vacation. Very expensive for what you get. If you are travelling as a party of four, the beds are small - double beds, not queens. Not much room to be in the room when you are paying $600 a night it's a bit ridiculous. Additionally the resort fees are exorbitant as well.

Perfect for a family with two little ones ages five and six. They loved the pool and the slide and the luau on premise was amazing and super easy to get to. Everything was really walkable and Whalers Village being next was such a great option. Turtles all day long on the beach and the food was actually really good from the poolside bars and restaurants. also, the kid activities were a total hit like seeing aqua the mermaid in the pool and getting to hang out with her, and getting tattoos and other crafts.

Nice enough resort, however the pool area isn’t big enough for all the guests. Very frustrating that guests secure beds at ~6.30am and then don’t use them until maybe midday, sometimes I didn’t see people at all. Hotel staff should remove towels after 45mins of no use, that’s standard practice… 2 beds and an umbrella on the beach is $100 for the day, so if you miss the morning rush it can become an expensive day.
