Hotel 3H Mannheim

We only needed a bed to sleep in for the night and of course didn't expect any kind of luxuries..BUT.. I am genuinely shocked that Hotels.com chooses to list and promote this property. Calling it a hotel is, in our opinion, highly misleading. What we encountered was not a hotel, but what appeared to be a residence for long-term occupants rather than paying guests. The moment we entered the building, extremely loud Eastern European techno music was blasting through the stairwell, creating an atmosphere more reminiscent of a nightclub than a hotel. Men were standing on the walkways, several shirtless and smoking. The entire environment felt intimidating, neglected and completely unsuitable for families. We did not feel safe, and we immediately decided to leave. We never stayed overnight. The entire property appeared run-down and in a very poor state of repair.

Mid-march the place seemed nearly abandoned. We never saw staff- self checkin and checkout. Room was ok, but smoke detector was disconnected. Breakfast was spartan. Eggs were cold and had been sitting out a while. We were the only ones at breakfast, again no staff seen.

No reseption, but instructions for check in was ok. A quite outdated hotel, but a guess ok value for money after all. Basic, butpacious and clean room at the back so I did'nt hear the trains. Some noise from banging doors and running water. Breakfast was NOT a buffet, rather a fixed plate with egg, bread, cheese and meat. Wi-Fi in the room was very(!) poor. Trains to either Mannheim or Heidelberg takes only a few minutes and rund several times per hour

We were given the wrong room initially, but were able to contact the property to get switched. Our rate said it included breakfast but we were told we couldn’t get breakfast without paying an additional fee. They did let us check in early which was nice!

Easy access by road in quiet area...we were late arriving and departed early.. Contactless check in.. email delivered regarding getting key and room number.. No issues... not a big car park but found a space.. The room was warm and comfortable.. everything needed for our overnight stay...we were very happy with the value for money Clean sheets.. very comfortable bed..hot shower..in fact it looked like the rooms have recently been up graded... Personally would be happy to return...
