Excellent choice for friends and family. It was so quiet and relaxing, granted we were there on a Sunday night. Beautiful views of mountains and the river, I had so much fun taking pictures for my Instagram here :) The breakfast is really good for being free. I liked the snacks and the refresher drinks that they had ready for the guests; not too many hotels do that these days. The staffs are very pleasant. The pool was under renovation but didn’t bother us because we’d rather go for a walk to the beach anyway.

The pool water appeared cloudy and the hot tub had quite a bit of foamy stuff. Didn’t get to go in the pool or hot tub due to this. In the morning, while checking out, there was one person at the reception desk and was on the phone, while I was waiting to inform him that there was no coffee in the carafe. He was on the phone taking reservation and we decided to leave.

This place was nice enough, but the pool and hot tub were broken and we weren't informed ahead of time. Also, the river is more of a canal. It's definitely not worth the price.

Really love this place, location is great, love the the view from the bedroom balcony, free breakfast and chowder in the evening are good and the rooms are nice. Only suggestions I have is to clean the hot tub and pool more and to increase the temp of the sauna. Those are some of the amenities that we look for when booking hotels and use them every day were on vacation. The hot tub needs a good scrubbing. You don't realize how dirty it looks until the bubbles stop. Yuck. Other than that the place really is fantastic.

While the location and the staff were great, these rooms need a deep clean and some maintenance for sure. Found half eaten candy at the edge of the bed. There were cobwebs in the corners and many areas just needed a good scrub brush. The carpet that comes up to the wall and up was falling off and there were too many holes in the wall paper to count.

The Kathryn was an amazing stay! Our stay included free cookies and free salmon chowder after 5pm. We were happy with our room and the view was downright beautiful. Our small private balcony was right on the water. The breakfast was top tier and everything was clean but the shower had some mildew and we could smell it every time we walked in. Overall we’re happy with our stay! Another side note is there was no smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.

Booked this room for my parents to celebrate their anniversary, and they had a horrible experience. They were given a room right next to the tavern and did not get much sleep due to the noise from 10 pm to 3 am. My mom called and spoke to the hotel manager Katherine Libby and she could care less about what she had to say. The fridge smelled like rotten fish. The room had cobwebs in the corners of the room and the bathroom smelled musty. Will not be booking here again.

We chose to stay here for a quick weekend getaway out of the convenience to all the tourist things. Upon entering the bathroom, we discovered the entire wood plank above the door was coated in mold and had clearly been there for some time. We brought this to the property’s attention and the only response we got was “thanks for telling us, I’ll pass it along”. I’m super disappointed in the cleanliness of this place for how much it was ($400 for one night) and the fact that we were offered no sort of resolution or compensation for the condition of the room. There was also coffee spilt all down the wall near the TV and in the microwave. The only nice thing was we were able to walk everywhere easily.

Unless changes are made, I would not recommend! Room (206) was not clean! There was food in the drain in the kitchenette and it was black and gunky! There was food on the nightstand and food on the floor! I walked across the carpet with no shoes and my feet were black! Feces on the bathroom wall!!! The sheets and towels did appear to be clean as did the breakfast buffet and breakfast area. The hot tub was not in working order, nor was the sauna. We did not try the pool. The young lady that checked us in was great! I’m sorry I don’t know her name. She was working the evening of July 31.

Property was very nice, great service and extras. Only issue is it is next to a loud bar, very loud music until well after 2 am, drunks yelling in the street at each other. They need to offer ear plugs so guests at that end can sleep

We had an absolutely fantastic stay. Checking in was insanely easy. Entire facility was very clean and neat. Free breakfast in the morning was wonderful. Location was safe, very walkable, and convenient. The view from our room of the River was beautiful. The room was very cozy with the fireplace and balcony. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Super bummed we were only here one night. Highly recommended staying here.

Wi-Fi support doesn't know what they are doing. It took two phone calls, one the evening of arrival, one the next morning to finally get the Wi-Fi working. Also heard complaints from others in the hotel with the same problem. Since i require Wi-Fi for work, this is unacceptable.

Nice room overlooking the river. Calming to sit on the deck and watch the paddle boats float by. If you’re light sensitive they offer sleep masks as the doors do not have blackout curtains and it gets pretty bright in the morning. I hear they are working on a permanent blackout curtain solution.

Good location, quiet, with lovely view of the river and mountains beyond. Liked the style of the lobby etc. Balcony was nice. Room was very comfortable, older style but very clean. Only negatives were very noisy bathroom fan and the air conditioning was quite loud. Breakfast was good. Didn’t use the spa/pool/gym/laundry, so can’t comment.

Room is very nice. King bed is comfortable. Gas fireplace is nice. Great view of the river. Aimee at the front desk was very friendly. Free clam chowder (until it's gone), ditto for cookies, and water with fruit in it. We haven't had the continental breakfast yet, but expect that it will be a step above the norm also. Will definitely stay here again!

Absolutely loved our stay at Kathryn! The staff was friendly and helpful and made our visit to Seaside better. Great ambassadors for the town. Helped with easy to follow directions on where we were going. Smoked salmon chowder available at 5 pm was amazing!! Flavor infused water in the lobby was wonderful. Felt like coming home to a much smaller family run hotel. Very clean. Located perfectly. We parked our car when we arrived and never had to use it again. We could easily walk everywhere we wanted to go and not have to deal with the crowds by the beach - so nice!! We will definitely stay here again when we come to Seaside!!

Front desk staff that checked us in was very nice and friendly and allowed us to check in a few hrs early after our 5 hr drive. His name is Amadeus… highly recommend this hotel we stay here every trip down to Seaside, hotel is very welcoming and chowder and baked cookies are a plus!

Absolutely LOVED this hotel! The friendliest staff from the moment we checked in. Our fireplace wasn’t working when we first got to our room but the guy from the front desk as well as another guy came up to fix it right away and made sure it was working properly. They also gave us a bottle of sparkling cider. Each night there was complimentary smoked salmon chowder and warm cookies. Also loved having real mugs in our room to use instead of paper cups. Breakfast was good and had a great view of the river. I only wish the balcony could fit two chairs instead of one, because then we would have used it more. Excellent location to walk to everything near the beach.

We’ve stayed at the hotel multiple times in the past, and minus the sheer curtains that let the blazing sun in at 5am it’s been fine. On a recent trip to visit after 5.5 hours our car broke down on the side of the highway in Washington and it was after all auto repair shops were closed for the night (plus a holiday weekend). I was distraught and crying and called the hotel and notified them of what had happened and they said they’d try to work with me on a cancellation but I had to go through Orbitz first. I immediately contacted Orbitz and they tried to contact the hotel manager for a week straight but she would never respond to them. My husband called back three times as well and she would never answer or respond. Really disappointing that after being a loyal customer that has stayed there 5+ times she wouldn’t even answer a phone call. Zero help with customer service from the manager. Will never stay there again because of this. We had an expensive car bill and a little help on a reduction in the hotel price for the night we never used would have gone a long way in customer trust.

This hotel was a great find. It was so close to everything and was very cozy! If you are going to the convention center- this was the perfect place- within walking distance. Great bars and restaurants near by! bring your swim suit as there is a pool and jacuzzi and it is open late!

This hotel is in such a great central location in Seaside. We parked the car and only drove once in five days to go to a restaurant a few miles away and the outlet mall. The room was nice and clean and had a view of the river & small balcony. The robes were a nice touch. The staff I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The pool area being open 24 hours was great, we went for a later swim and soak and nobody was there. The little touches in the lobby like chowder & cookies were nice. I didn’t get breakfast but my partner said it was great! Overall we would stay here again for sure

The Kathryn is lovely with an obvious character of hospitality that is evident in the extra touches in the decor, the facility and amenities (complimentary salmon chowder, fresh baked cookies and wonderful breakfast) The staff are gracious and accommodating. Room was very clean. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we had hoped, but it is difficult sleeping in a different place. Hotel offered hot breakfast. Food was good. The woman who handled the cooking and service did an awesome job. It's a lot of work! We needed summer extra towels. Front desk personnel were very helpful. Hotel offered smoked salmon chowder at 5 pm every evening. Delicious.
