The reason I didn't rate it high in cleanliness, The pool and the spa definitely need work. There were tiles missing in the spa. I don't think all of the Jets were working. It definitely doesn't look like the spot on the web page. And the outdoor pool had slime all around the water line. I didn't go in because it didn't look like they clean it on a regular basis. In my room the skirt to the bed had spots on it, but the actual bed and sheets were perfectly clean. The bathroom seemed very clean and the towels were amazing!! I was unaware of a deposit required for each night even though I had paid for my room in full. So that was a bit of a surprise and I'm still waiting for the refund on that. The breakfasts were delicious. And the portions for room service are huge!! The food was really good. I had a view of the port with my own terrace. The terrace had two lounge chairs and room for a breakfast table and chairs. That was a nice plus! Overall, it was a really fantastic experience. There was a gentleman that helped me with dinner reservations. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name but he was very helpful and kind and his reservation recommendation was spot on. Thank you

Great hotel location and excellent view from the hotel room. Very convenient, walking distance from the beach. The restaurant and the Bar has great view. We stayed in other Sofitel location and it was excellent , base on that we booked this location and it was good ( not great). Breakfast buffet was not five star

Hôtel sympathique mais pas à la hauteur d’un 5 étoiles. Notre chambre double vue ville était vraiment décevante pour le prix. Vis à vis énorme sur le parc du pharo, les personnes qui s’y promènent vous voient à l’intérieur, et nous avions vu sur les poubelles de l’hôtel. Nous avons eu droit à un réveil à 7h du matin dimanche par les éboueurs qui vidaient les poubelles en dessous. Concernant le spa, il est petit, réservation d’une heure pour pouvoir y accéder. Le bar le Dantes domine Marseille, vue splendide de jour comme de nuit mais le serveur devrait s’acheter un sourire! Petit déjeuner buffet très bien avec service impeccable au restaurant les 3 forts avec une vue imprenable sur le port. Nous n’y retournerons pas.

The hotel needs an urgent refresh. While the beds and bedding are incredible (as are the views), there were too many issues in the hotel. The shower is impossible to maneouver, water floods the whole bathroom when showering, public spaces such as the spa and the fitness room are truly a disgrace for the Sofitel brand.

We arrived to this hotel late (approx 1145pm), confirmed for a room with 2 twin beds but when I arrived, I was told by Hakim (sp?) only a king room was available (for two adults). The consolation offer was a king room, and they'd provide a rollaway in a 'premium' room for 1 night, until a 2 twin was cleaned the following day. We checked into the King room that was described as a premium upgrade to find it overlooked a cement parking lot, and was directly facing a nightclub which was blasting music (remember, it's almost midnight by this time). We slough our bags back downstairs to the lobby to request another room, and are given a standard king room (bye bye, upgrade). Upon inspection, the room had not been cleaned as there were wet face cloths on the bathroom counter, used hand soap, and used coffee amenities. We again venture back to the lobby now to request a THIRD hotel room. Hakim seemed very perturbed at my request for the clean and quiet hotel room I paid for and expected from Sofitel Marseille. His question to me was "what would you like me to do?" you can imagine my frustration being on the opposite end of his seemingly nonchalant demeanor. I was given keys to a third room, and you guessed it, the room was unusable. Hair in the shower, used water carafe glasses, and the mini fridge was leaking water into the hallway. Long story longer, I was fully refunded for this nightmare, after threatening to dispute the charge with my creditor. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Not really a 5 star hotel. The main restaurant was fully booked the first night we were there and closed the next two nights. The bar menu was good, but not available on one night. One of our rooms experienced a flood in the shower where the drain was clogged with an incredible amount of hair. Water actually leaked into the next room. No bellman, and lack of expected 5 star service. Other than that, the rooms were comfortable and the location was good.

Given room key that did not work. The entire first floor of rooms smell like raw sewage and then they try to perfume the corridors to get rid of the smell. Had to hold breath from elevators until got inside room and opened windows and then met with the blast of diesel from the trucks lined up in parking lot below.

Sofitel is now overrated! The view was superb, but the hotel is so old, e.g. the shower was leaking all night making drop sound making impossible to sleep. It was smelling the wet dog in the room and the room looked like we were in the 80s...not impressed. The only memorable was the stunning view but that has nothing to do with the hotel!

We had an amazing view of the port from our room. It was a decent walk to the dining and shopping area. Everyone at the hotel was extremely nice and helpful. Only one little complaint was the water during our shower was a bit inconsistent-extremely hot back to normal. Overall ,we had a great stay.

Comprei estadia vista cidade, chegando no quarto era vista para um paredão e uma árvore, me senti sufocada. Pedi para mudar de quarto e só tinha vista Porto, tive que pagar mais €75/ dia. Achei muito caro para um quarto velho, com móveis precisando manutenção. An amazing hotel, the only issue was the noise coming from parties outside that went on to about midnight both nights we were there. The windows could be more sound proof. Everything else was amazing, the staff, the food, the location all 10/10.
