Our second stay, its quite quaint but great attention to detail, great service and great location. You have your own designated parking space clearly marked and pointed out on arrival, unfortunately somebody took ours the receptionist was able to sort and give us another one but she was busy enough without sorting this out.

Had the most amazing stay in a Family Chalet with our 4-year old daughter. Hotel is in amazing location, just a few minutes from Bowness. Free parking space is so handy and worth its weight in gold. Family chalet room was perfect. Nice modern bathroom. Comfy beds and extra beds for children. Main bar / lounge area was very traditional and homely. Lovely to relax in there and look out to the “secret garden”. Bet this would be amazing in summer. Complimentary afternoon tea and cake was a lovely touch. New fitness room was also a nice extra for a run/cycle. The hotel prides itself on its breakfast and it doesn’t disappoint! Beautifully cooked full English (Cumbrian) breakfast, which find a bit of a rarity with many hotels focused on buffet style. Lots of other options available too. Final thing - and most important - was the staff and owners. The nicest people you could meet and went above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and valued as guests. Will come back just for that reason. An absolutely perfect stay so thank you so much!

An excellent break. All areas were spotless. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The food was super and there was a vast choice on the breakfaadt menu. Its position was so handy yet in a quiet area surrouded by wonderful gardens.

We stayed at the property for 3 days. We got an upgrade when we arrived. Staff couldn't have been more friendly, made us feel so welcome. Afternoon tea and cake served each day. Breakfast beautiful, so many options. So many wonderful places to visit. Great running routes.

Very comfortable hotel with lovely gardens, and good breakfast. Staff were friendly, parking plentiful, and walkable to Lake Windermere and the shops/restaurants in Bowness on Windermere. Enjoyed the birds inhabiting the gardens - get a window table for breakfast to enjoy the birds while you eat.

Nice central location with lovely gardens. Hotel is spread around the garden and we were in the house which is old and in need of some upgrade though what has been done is good. Major issue was the noise as being on the ground floor every move made upstairs was amplified below. Hotel doesn't have a restaurant for the evening which is a shame though the bar was nice if empty apart from us and the breakfast was very good especially with all the fruit. Staff very friendly especially Dorothy and the gardner.

Burn hows hotel is in the perfect location , easy walk to all the local amenities and on site parking. The room we were in was a little tired looking and in need of a refurb, there was a very strong and unpleasant musty smell when we entered , the room was however clean and the beds comfortable. Staff were all lovely and breakfast was very good . Enjoyed our stay .

Lovely hotel we stayed in the family room with a balcony. Very spacious and clean. Loved the location of being outside of the town so it was quiet but a 2minute walk to everything. The breakfast was lovely, especially the eggs Benedict. Parking was free and had a space for every room. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.

We had a lovely night here. The hotel is really clean with lots of character & beautiful gardens. Our room was cosy, the bed was really comfy & the shower was hot! Plenty of teas& coffees to use & good quality toiletries too. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice of hot food cooked to order & a good assortment of cereals., yogurts & top quality fresh fruits. Thecstaff were all very friendly & helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into Bowness or the lake. Can definitely recommend this hotel.

Stumbled across this little gem but hadn’t heard of it before so I weren’t expecting much. Turned up and was warmly welcomed and straight away taken to my room. We stayed in the junior suite (bay room) it was huge, so much space for your luggage including a closet, bathroom was modern with shower and bath and also huge comfy bed. We didn’t realise how close we were to the main part of Windermere town, about a 5-6 minute walk if that. We struck gold finding this little gem. Breakfast was included with our stay and there is a choice of hot food and continental , food was lovely, had full English both days and didn’t disappoint. Room and reception area was spotless.

The accommodation was a ground floor ,you could hear the people upstairs snore ,use the toilet and walk across the floor the shower head was damaged and the bsth was slow to empty ,the breakfast was very good ,

Beautiful surroundings and excellent, very attentive staff. The building itself is a little tired but to be expected with its age. We enjoyed breakfast, however myself not being an egg lover there wasn’t much choice for a cooked breakfast that didn’t contain eggs. Cleanliness could be paid more attention to as we found a few unwanted sights in our bathroom. However we had a lovely weekend and really enjoyed ourselves.

Reception and dining room staff were very friendly and helpful The only disappointment was with the room which was quite small. The bathroom had no wash basin it was in the bedroom. But the bedroom was very clean

Parking was outside which was very nice to have. No noises like you would expect from hotel rooms and landings, bedrooms were individual units so much quieter, relaxing and gave a feel of freedom. Breakfast was fabulous as was service. Showers were powerful. Only small downside were that rooms are in need of an update but not a problem. Thank you all at Burn How our stay was perfect!

The place was lovely and quiet, staff were friendly. Good breakfast. Location is great within walking distance to the lake pier. Our only criticism is that we were asked to book a timeslot for breakfast, and that was limited and later times were usually all booked out; we booked the small country house double room, and we didnt like that the room had the sink in the main carpeted bedroom, while the bathroom had only a shower and toilet.

Overall we had an excellent time at the burn how hotel. We did feel that the rooms could benefit from a little refresh, as some areas looked tired. The staff are simply fantastic! We had a small issue which was sorted very quickly and this was down to the efficiency of all the team. Jack in particular was professional, polite and is a credit to the hotel. Thank you.

When we checked in room was extremely warm. Contacted front desk and found out towel warmer was left on high. Also no ventilation or cooling available . Hard to sleep in warm room with no fan or ventilation. Was able to open window with no screen to prevent bugs from entering. Also the window that was open was available for the public to see into our room. We also left from door open with no screen to try and cool things down from towel warmer . Another room was not offered during our stay after letting the staff know of the situation. Breakfast was excellent. Property and garden were nice also.
When we checked in room was extremely warm. Contacted front desk and found out towel warmer was left on high. Also no ventilation or cooling available . Hard to sleep in warm room with no fan or ventilation. Was able to open window with no screen to prevent bugs from entering. Also the window that was open was available for the public to see into our room. We also left from door open with no screen to try and cool things down from towel warmer . Property is run by Michael who is the owner and some amazing staff. They all will go extra mile to help the guests and make their stay as convenient as possible. Last but not the least they serve great breakfast and will do every thing possible to cater your specific needs.

Hotel is beautiful, staff is very friendly. We couldn’t make to breakfast and they put it in a box for us to bring to our travel. Just forgot my airpods there and they haven’t seen :(

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the burn how was fabulous, the room, grounds the breakfast and location were all fantastic. But above all else the ladies which run the hotel are second to none, me and my wife haven’t experienced hospitality like this for a long time. Professional, friendly and attentive staff from the time we arrived until we checked out. Hotel in a great location close to all amenities and restaurants. Individual parking space and well equipped rooms. Would certainly recommend to all.

Stayed here for 2 nights. This hotel feels really private and so peaceful. The room was lovely and the gardens are beautiful, and just a 2 minute walk to the lake, shops, bars and restaurants. Staff were really nice and breakfast was amazing! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing stay near lake Windermere!

Very comfortable hotel with lovely gardens, and good breakfast. Staff were friendly, parking plentiful, and walkable to Lake Windermere and the shops/restaurants in Bowness on Windermere. Enjoyed the birds inhabiting the gardens - get a window table for breakfast to enjoy the birds while you eat.

Situated on the edge of Bowness, very conveniently placed for a stroll into any of the many restaurants. Breakfast was incredible and excellent value. We enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night!

Burn hows hotel is in the perfect location , easy walk to all the local amenities and on site parking. The room we were in was a little tired looking and in need of a refurb, there was a very strong and unpleasant musty smell when we entered , the room was however clean and the beds comfortable. Staff were all lovely and breakfast was very good . Enjoyed our stay .

We took a garden room which was very comfortable, with all the facilities you would wish and a lovely view. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. This hotel has an award for its breakfasts and quite right too. They also serve tea and cake free of charge if you are there between 3 and 5 pm. What's not to like! The location is very central and convenient.

This was like boutique traditional style hotel much suited in this location. We stayed in the chalet. So easy to get around and it was such perfect location. Breakfast was amazing such quality. Hotel staff was so friendly and they really do look after you. Thank you

the room was large with a balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfast buffet was the best we had had in a long time lots of choice. Cooked breakfast also a great standard. Hotel very convenient for walking into Bowness.

Lovely hotel in a great location, just a few minutes walk into Bowness but when you enter the gardens it's very tranquil and peaceful. Rooms are very spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped although the bathroom is slightly dated. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful big room. So cozy. We enjoyed the comfortable bed and little balcony overlooking the garden. It was very quiet and the breakfast was delicious and the room had lovely views of the garden. Easily walkable to town.

A very appealing hotel.Tastefully traditional. Gardens beautifully laid out;so many private areas to relax in. Range of apartments in modern style too. I had enjoyable stay in Junior Suite. Dining room really attractive with very pleasing views . Always a great relief in Bowness to have a place with great parking!!. MINUS-The cupboard with the clothes rail is no substitute for a proper wardrobe as it is cold and musty.
