Absolutely love this place. A secret haven to relax and unwind in . If you want the best rather than best price.you will not be disappointed.Not for penny pinchers ,Luxury costs it's worth every penny .How many hotels have their own woodland with a little boating lake and beautiful sculptures everywhere ? An evening meal and dessert with a drink each ,will typically cost ,around 120 pounds if you aren't able to fine at the Henrock due to taking you dog as we did. (A sentiment which I totally agree with as it's fine dining and I would not like my experience ruined by possible other not so well behaved or well turned out dogs being in Henrock despite loving them you have to respect the fact not everyone does or wants to indulge in a wonderful eight course tasting menu with dogs being there .) It's upper end in every way . All staff are excellent and everyone is very professional from the initial greeting to your departure. The grounds and little secret lake amongst the trees are soo very magical and the cabin up next to the lake is such a wonderful place to enjoy a drink and watch the sun set.Its sooooo romantic !!! We will return.

The hotels surroundings were beautiful and it was so quiet. The whole experience was very relaxing The only thing that I was a wee bit disappointed in that the bar closed at 11. Would definitely be back again

Loved our two night stay at Linthwaite. Beautiful views and grounds. A very special setting. Service excellent from all staff. Enjoyed dining on the terrace at the Conservatory Restaurant. Will definitely be back to explore more of the area

So warm and welcoming from start to finish, they couldn’t do enough to make our stay more special for our 30th wedding anniversary. The whiskey sours are the best we have ever had. Perfect break away in a stunning setting.

Overpriced for what it is, very inconsistent staff (some are wonderful, some very rude) and parking is difficult. We also ordered room service on our first time, waited 55 minutes for microwaved macaroni cheese that we immediately had to send back as it was completely inedible, there was no discernable pasta it was like mashed potato. No offer to recook it, just the staff member who collected it from our room said "I know it\'s awful, it\'s like soup, I don\'t know why they keep serving it". We definitely wouldn\'t return.

We stayed on a Saturday night and found the room tired with dirty marks on some of the furniture like the chairs. Some of the furniture was broken and wouldn’t shut I.e the mini bar cabinet etc. I used the hairdryer and found a pair of dirty knickers in the bag. I would not expect this from a 5* hotel costing over £300 per night. Such a shame. Breakfast was good. Did not raise issues with staff as we were only staying one night. Service otherwise good.

This was booked as a special celebration and we weren't disappointed with our choice. The hotel and staff are fantastic, the views over lake Windermere are awesome, the grounds are immaculately maintained overall it's a great place to relax and unwind.

My and my Partner stayed 2 days at the property, I specifically booked this property as it stated it was dog friendly. I called up the property before booking to confirm this. I was then told on arrival that my small dog was only allowed in the room and not in any other party of the hotel “not even to sit and have a coffee by the fire” Myself and partner then had to leave the hotel for the whole day and evening in order to have lunch, dinner and coffee. The main purpose of us booking a “dog friendly” hotel was to ensure the dog would be welcome in the hotel “not only the room” i was really disappointed that i was not informed of this on the phone when i specifically asked before booking. On arrival i was also asked to pay a £25 fee for the dog which also is not stated when you book this property. I was more than happy to pay this, I just feel it should have also been stated before booking as you are then left with no choice. The property is extremely lovely and clean and great location perfect for a couple, but my advice would be to not bring your pet as you will have to leave the property if you want to eat or drink inside and not leave your pet all day alone in the room. There are plenty of “actual” dog friendly places to stay in this location.

The room was clean and modern, the grounds are beautiful it was so peaceful to just walk around the hotel and admire the view. Great breakfast too. Staff were very helpful.

Had a fabulous stay. Couldn't do enough for us. Absolutely wonderful staff,Amazing grounds to walk in.The best and most relaxing place .It has every luxury yet remains unpretentious. I loved my room too.Spotlessly clean .Fabulous bed.Had a wonderful sleep.I wouldnt change a thing. I was given a bottle of Champagne to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We ate on Saturday evening at the Henrock Restaurant .Superb !!! Excellent knowledgeable staff that attended to our every need without hovering over us . We loved every minute of our stay .Cant wait to return !!! Thankyou Linthwaite Staff and thankyou Henrock staff too !! X

What an amazing find! I simply google mapped hotels near the boathouse marina as we were spending a day on our friends boat and found this hotel was only 15mins walk away. We were then amazed and really pleased to find the hotel had links with a place we had stayed at in South Africa wit being part of LEEU Collection. The hotel has gorgeous elevated views across Windermere lake with a far more relaxed feel than the hustle and bustle of being in the town. The rooms as exceptional and the food we ate in the Henrock restaurant for our evening meal and Sunday lunch was to die for!

Very helpful and friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful and lunch in the restaurant was delicious with excellent service. We found the room a little claustrophobic and hot and next doors tv was clearly audible through the wall.

Lovely hotel and food, and some staff were really good but several of them really let it down with odd and rude service. Barman in particular left us baffled by just repeating 'sit down please' 'sit down please' in a very gruff tone when we were simply stood at the bar waiting to order a drink. No 'hello, welcome, what can i get you' or anything like that. It was as if we were misbehaving school children causing a scene or that he didn't feel we should be there. As this was not long after we arrived, it set the tone for our stay and left us with a bad feeling. Making us carry our luggage round the hotel tour we also thought odd... why couldn't we leave it at reception or, for the price, have it taken up to the room? Because of this, the tour, which would've been a nice touch was rendered pointless as the staff member kept saying 'i won't show you this as you've got your bags with you', 'i won't show you that as you've got your bags with you'... Also, at least twice we assumed things we'd ordered or been offered had been forgotten about during our meal as they took so long to arrive - not what you'd expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Finally, i injured my hand having had to use such force to open the door to access the outdoor seating area. Worrying as it was also a fire exit. Sadly, although the hotel itself, grounds and food were very nice, for the price and given we've had much pleasanter experiences at much cheaper but equally nice hotels, we won't be returning.

What a lovely boutique hotel with lots of custom artwork. Our accommodations were top notch. But what made the place special was the warmth of the staff. James ran the front end of the restaurant and was very good. The front desk staff, Louise and Maria were so helpful and friendly. The bartender Victor and Ana in the restaurant made us feel very welcome. They were many others (the breakfast team), whose names escape me at the moment, but we had a very good time there, and will return again soon. I would stay at least three nights to give you ample time to do the hiking in the wonderful environs of the Lake District.

I visited with my wife and daughter for a chill out weekend after a busy first quarter. This hotel was ideal with stunning views of lake Windermere and the busy boating area of Bowness. We walked 20 mins into Bowness on an evening (torch required for return leg) and during the day. We relaxed around the hotels lake, and I must stay the weather played its part too. We ate in the hotel bar and the food was excellent, breakfast was one of the best we had too, plenty of choice, nothing was too much trouble, especially after regularly stopping at other high quality hotels. I marked the service slightly down as the car park attendant / luggage buggy driver push his way past me one morning when leaving the hotel and I felt his driving was a bit quick given my daughter was onboard the golf buggy holding items and trying to hang on. It I don’t want this to distract the a great location and stay, we wanting a luxury get away, relaxing break and that what we had.

This is an outstanding property with an amazing staff! Every staff person makes you feel special and does everything in their power to make your stay enjoyable! Special shout out to Jasmine and Jessica! Two great employees! Their work ethic and ability to make people feel special is second to none! We will be back!

We booked this hotel thinking it was dog-friendly, as you'd assume by their policy of allowing dogs to stay in-room (for an extra fee). We were very disappointed to find that our dog was not allowed in any of the lounge or bar areas. The staff informed us that we could sit in the entrance hall with our dog and have a drink there! We stayed over the Easter weekend. The hotel was very under-staffed. I was checking in at Lithwaite House, and there was a major issue. We were traveling as a family of 3, and booked a Villa that was allowing tour to 4 guests. We are a family of 3 adults and made it clear in the communication with the hotel—yet upon checking in the hotel claims they only host 2 adults. Now, I was being asked to pay an additional £250 for a TINY sofa bed for one night by the manager in order to stay in that villa. This is a major error on the hotel's part that they did not clarify this on Expedia yet expecting the guest to be liable for their mistake. We booked this place to relax (also reserved and had dinner for 3 at the property) and came across this that just shattered the entire experience for us.

What an amazing find! I simply google mapped hotels near the boathouse marina as we were spending a day on our friends boat and found this hotel was only 15mins walk away. We were then amazed and really pleased to find the hotel had links with a place we had stayed at in South Africa wit being part of LEEU Collection. The hotel has gorgeous elevated views across Windermere lake with a far more relaxed feel than the hustle and bustle of being in the town. The rooms as exceptional and the food we ate in the Henrock restaurant for our evening meal and Sunday lunch was to die for!

The hotels surroundings were beautiful and it was so quiet. The whole experience was very relaxing The only thing that I was a wee bit disappointed in that the bar closed at 11. Would definitely be back again

This was booked as a special celebration and we weren't disappointed with our choice. The hotel and staff are fantastic, the views over lake Windermere are awesome, the grounds are immaculately maintained overall it's a great place to relax and unwind.

Linthwaite is an absolutely amazing property. The staff is incredibly friendly and cordial and the breakfast was amazing. The grounds are beautiful kept and the view is gorgeous. Highly recommend!

The Hotel has a magnificent view on Windermere and the garden and environment are beautiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Although Henrock was closed on the days we stayed, the food at the Bar was excellent (we did dinner for 2 nights we stayed there). Breakfast was very good as well, and we had enjoyed very much on our stay.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful and lunch in the restaurant was delicious with excellent service. We found the room a little claustrophobic and hot and next doors tv was clearly audible through the wall.

What a gem! I was so sad to leave the property! Everyone was so charming, the facilities were stunning and the art pieces surrounding the property were magical! Marco was the first person we met on a rainy night and he could not have been more gracious! We stayed in one of the cottages and it was such a beautiful ambiance! I will recommend this property to everyone! I would love to see just a few more dining options rather than only Michelin-level opportunities since you never want to leave the property, but you want some “comfort foods”. Just a suggestion! We will be back!

The staff running the bar are unprofessional and my dietary requirements were treated a bit like I was being difficult than a requirement for me not to be sick, I was a bit annoyed about this as I told the hotel in advance however they had noted I was dairy free which was their mistake.

Overpriced for what it is, very inconsistent staff (some are wonderful, some very rude) and parking is difficult. We also ordered room service on our first time, waited 55 minutes for microwaved macaroni cheese that we immediately had to send back as it was completely inedible, there was no discernable pasta it was like mashed potato. No offer to recook it, just the staff member who collected it from our room said "I know it\'s awful, it\'s like soup, I don\'t know why they keep serving it". We definitely wouldn\'t return.

We , 4pax , stayed for 4 nights and the standard was 1st class , nothing less. Excellent and a tribute to the Leeu Collection. Will definitely want to return soon. Suggestion, parking should be possibly better controlled and available for Hotel guests first. Maybe leverage the Spa and treatment offerings on this stunning property. Thanks to the excellent , professional and friendly staff.

This is a beautiful place, set in gorgeous grounds and perched high on the hill overlooking the lake. The gardens are perfectly manicured and the viewpoint with the double swing is fantastic. Our room had all mod cons and a very comfortable bed. The wardrobe was a bit small for hanging trousers or a long dress but we used the hanger on the toilet door. Our breakfast was lovely with very attentive staff and a great choice of food. I woukd recommend the overnight oats as these were delicious. Unfortunately, we had a very noisy room (18) which we sadly had to complain about( I hate doing that!) I don't know of it was a noisy pipe or valve just above our room but it did spoil our sleep. Hopefully they will get it fixed.
