Decent hotel but no lifts. Parking around the hotel is expensive so it would be nice if a discount was made available. I didnt personally like the names for rooms instead of numbers, i find it harder to locate the room.

Great location in the centre of town - very helpful staff - with a stylish bar. But it’s not cheap and there were some problems. Firstly no parking provision at all - no deal with any parking providers nearby - surprising for a high-end hotel. We upgraded to a deluxe room ‘The Arundel’which was quite lovely - high ceilings and spacious. Next morning there was a leak from the ceiling and we were asked to vacate to another room. This was very inconvenient as it was the morning of the wedding we were attending and got in the way of our tight schedule. The new room (the Adur) was not quite as special as our first room, although we were assured it was the same standard it was basically a low-ceilinged annexe - a bit underwhelming. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night with friends and again the staff were great but the food was average with a duck main course that was tough and over-salted and a pasta and crab dish that was dry and bland. But we overlooked it at the time and enjoyed the company we were with. Breakfast was good but not cheap - the Full English option was excellent - as you would hope for £25 a head. In summary - location and staff were great but Hotel Du Vin is not as top drawer as it might like to think. Leaking ceilings, disappointing replacement room, zero help with parking and an underwhelming restaurant took the gloss off what we hoped would be a first class experience. We’ll probably look elsewhere next time.

Have stayed here a number of times now, and it is one of my favourite hotels. Wonderful position (just off the sea front) and rooms that are clean and comfortable. Bar has a wonderful selection of drinks, although it's not cheap. Staff are always friendly and helpful. One thing. Lose the tacky adverts for the restaurant/mothers day/etc. HdV positions as a niche and classy hotel - not a cheap and cheerful chain.

Hotel located in a central spot and provides great service and ammenities. It has great restaurant and fantastic bar with a cigar patio on the 2nd floor. The bartenders were extremely nice and even offered me a free drink for forgetting about my order one time. So overall very happy with both the property and the staff who work there. No elevator to the upper floors, so had fun with my large suitcase.

Hotel was lovely, clean and quiet. Room and especially the bathroom were spacious and very nicely appointed. We were on the third floor and there are no lifts, albeit it wasn’t an issue for us it wouldn’t suit everyone. The bar area and courtyard area was nice and staff were good.

Lovely room, at the top of the hotel... I'm sure many people noted there's no lift. Staff were lovely and 24hr manned bar is a nice plus.

Nice room but Aircon didn't really cool the room down, so ended up turning off the rad in the bathroom and opening the bedroom window even in December to keep cool enough, then listened to Brighton nightlife until 5am. Lanes Car Park is about £40 per day so bear that in mind if taking a car.

Quilt was stained when we arrived. It was changed but not offered anything. You know a drink at the bar , nothing. Supposed to be a delux room but was tierd especially the bathroom. Not delux and as you will know not cheap either. The hotel needs to sort a concession parking rate out aswell with the lanes parking. £ 40 overnight stay. Not good

Paid a premium to stay here. The male hotel receptionist was arrogant and dismissive. Made us feel unwelcome. The hotel charged us £80 extra on top of £450 to have our small puppy with us. We stayed four nights and they cleaned the room once after we had to request it. They didn’t replenish anything. The decor was bit dated, paint flacking off the walls and bathroom mould and unfinished paintwork. The noise at night from staff in the bar was right in the room so you couldn’t sleep. The staff were not really interested even after we complained about no room house keeping. Really dissatisfied and definitely won’t stay here again.

We’ve stayed many times at Hotel Du Vin Brighton and always enjoyed it. The staff continue to be excellent, going out of their way to be helpful, often unprompted. However, considering how expensive the hotel has become, it could be said to be sitting on its laurels. Our room didn’t appear to have been refurbished for a long time. The room carpet was stained (probably not a good idea to have a plain pale brown carpet in a hotel room). The bathrobes had shrunk so much mine wouldn’t fit around me. You would expect better of a hotel charging around £100 a night, let alone one charging £300 for a Deluxe but still fairly small room! Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, then again at £24 ahead you would expect it to be. Dinner was only so so. And perhaps the lack of diners on the Thursday evening was indicative of the amount of good choice that people have in Brighton. Finally, Parking has become a nightmare in Brighton. Local car parks are £40 for 24 hours. If you can, park outside Brighton and get the bus in, or use Just Park. I managed to find a spot 15 minutes walk away for £72 for the three days we were there.

Amazing weekend away at Hotel du Vin. The hotel had a warm and rustic feel to it, with a stunning outside seating area and clean feel throughout. Staff were incredibly polite and helpful, with the option to trade house keeping for a free drink instead a really nice touch. Will definitely be going back

Staff fine but room decor disappointingly grotty and uncared for - leaking brown goo from radiator, peeling ceiling in shower, chipped paint, stained carpet. Only one pillow each on bed (two in cupboard) and light stuck on in wardrobe. Room was Louis Jadot.

Exceptional hotel. Comfortable, very clean, very friendly staff, large room. Shame they do not have guiness on tap. Loved the nibbles that are served with the drinks.

We stayed at the Sea View room - the staff were lovely and service was good. However, the room itself really needs a face lift - the paint is flaking off all over the windows and some part of the ceiling, the carpet is old and fraying at the junction where it meets the wood floor and the towel rain in the bathroom is loose. Don’t get me wring, the room itself was clean, but it felt a bit unloved. Considering this was one of the more expensive rooms with twin tubs, I would have expected it to be in a better condition than it was.

Lovely property in a great location. The bar is a great space if a tad expensive (even for Brighton). Nicely appointed room with a gorgeous bathroom but central controlled air con (or at least air con that cannot adequately cool the room) and the bedding wasn't as comfortable as one would imagine given the brand.

This hotel is without doubt the worst hotel In the du Vin portfolio. The hotel is tired; we booked a suite and it was terrible and made worse as the room was on the Main Street, the double glazing failed and offered no volume protection from the all night and early morning noise. I’d recommend you didn’t stay here.

The hotel itself is lovely, I enjoyed hanging around at the bar and the staff were all really friendly. My room was tidy and well presented, but it was a bit on the small side. There was no wired internet port in the room, which was a bit of a bummer considering I had to work in the room a few times. I will say I was worried about being adjacent to the courtyard but it turned out to not be a problem given how strict the hotel is with how late people can stay outside. The aircon couldn't be put higher than 16, which was an odd choice. I think the Du Vin is a great place to stay, but it can be a bit pricy for what it is.

Lovely stay in Torres room. We were on the thrid floor, so nice and quiet, and having no lift was not an issue for us. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Lovely room, fabulous big bathroom with bath and shower, and large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious too. We parked in nearby NCP car park, and this was only a few minutes walk away. Perfect for our 1 x night trip to Brighton. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Good location, friendly staff, bar staff attentive and hard working. Nice room but Aircon didn't really cool the room down, so ended up turning off the rad in the bathroom and opening the bedroom window even in December to keep cool enough, then listened to Brighton nightlife until 5am. Lanes Car Park is about £40 per day so bear that in mind if taking a car.

Paid a premium to stay here. The male hotel receptionist was arrogant and dismissive. Made us feel unwelcome. The hotel charged us £80 extra on top of £450 to have our small puppy with us. We stayed four nights and they cleaned the room once after we had to request it. They didn’t replenish anything. The decor was bit dated, paint flacking off the walls and bathroom mould and unfinished paintwork. The noise at night from staff in the bar was right in the room so you couldn’t sleep. The staff were not really interested even after we complained about no room house keeping. Really dissatisfied and definitely won’t stay here again.

Staff did very well but with a baby we were given a room which was possibly the furthest away from reception with no lift! The heating was set to 24’ which we had no idea was on as there was also an electric plug in heater. Turned the electric plug in heater off and couldn’t work out why it was just so hot in there. No staff at hotel reception when we arrived. All clean tidy etc and so stay was just ‘ok’

We’ve made a point of staying in Hotel du Vin locations for years. They’ve been so pet friendly over the years. I was really shocked when we checked in - we were asked to leave an additional £100 deposit in respect of our dog. The room itself and service were both fine. When we checked out we were asked to wait until our room had been checked (presumably in case our dog had damaged anything). Left us feeling almost victimised. I did comment to the reception staff that humans weren’t expected to go through this. Really put me off Hotel du Vin to be honest - being reluctantly pet tolerant isn’t the same thing as being pet friendly.

Lovely stay in Torres room. We were on the thrid floor, so nice and quiet, and having no lift was not an issue for us. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Lovely room, fabulous big bathroom with bath and shower, and large comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious too. We parked in nearby NCP car park, and this was only a few minutes walk away. Perfect for our 1 x night trip to Brighton. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Great stay at this incredibly stylish hotel. Staff amazingly friendly and helpful. My evening meal was great. Didn't have a breakfast this time but will probably opt in for breakfast on my next visit. Would highly recommend.

Love staying at Hotel du Vin in Brighton. The staff are super friendly (especially to dogs!). Not the hotel’s fault at all - but there’s a nightclub a few doors away. We paid over £600 for two nights (think it was more due to the Brighton marathon being on) and I was woken up in the early hours of the morning by revellers. You hope for a decent night’s sleep so I’d recommend not staying in one of the rooms that faces the road outside. Parking is also crazily expensive in Brighton - think I’ll go by train next time! Other than that - the hotel itself was really good.

Lovely hotel. Not cheap, but really nicely done. Room was lovely, bathroom was excellent! Only down side is parking - a 5 min walk and very expensive but wouldn’t put me off.

Well located hotel with friendly staff. We didnt eat here so are unable to give opinions on this. Bar service was excellent though. Bed very comfortable. Excellent bath and shower and loved the quirkiness of the bathroom. Lovely L'Occitane products. Very short walk to the beach and the lanes. Would 100% stay here again. We used the park and ride as parking is extortionate in Brighton. P&R much more reasonable and only a 5 minute walk to the hotel from the bus stop.

Was visiting Brighton for a gig in nearby venue. This hotel was fantastic. The friendly staff at check in let me pre-check in so I could enjoy a few hrs in Brighton. The room was beautiful-clean and great size. The whole vibe of the hotel was great. Location was excellent-right across from the beach and local shops. Only used the bar once before the gig and the staff were again fantastic. Would highly recommend and will def return.

Great location in the centre of town - very helpful staff - with a stylish bar. But it’s not cheap and there were some problems. Firstly no parking provision at all - no deal with any parking providers nearby - surprising for a high-end hotel. We upgraded to a deluxe room ‘The Arundel’which was quite lovely - high ceilings and spacious. Next morning there was a leak from the ceiling and we were asked to vacate to another room. This was very inconvenient as it was the morning of the wedding we were attending and got in the way of our tight schedule. The new room (the Adur) was not quite as special as our first room, although we were assured it was the same standard it was basically a low-ceilinged annexe - a bit underwhelming. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night with friends and again the staff were great but the food was average with a duck main course that was tough and over-salted and a pasta and crab dish that was dry and bland. But we overlooked it at the time and enjoyed the company we were with. Breakfast was good but not cheap - the Full English option was excellent - as you would hope for £25 a head. In summary - location and staff were great but Hotel Du Vin is not as top drawer as it might like to think. Leaking ceilings, disappointing replacement room, zero help with parking and an underwhelming restaurant took the gloss off what we hoped would be a first class experience. We’ll probably look elsewhere next time.

Special shout out for the breakfasts at Hotel du Vin- I think they are consistently the best that I encounter from similar level hotels. Enjoyed my stay again at this hotel. Some sort of parking validation would be nice as surrounding car parks are pricey if driving

We’ve stayed many times at Hotel Du Vin Brighton and always enjoyed it. The staff continue to be excellent, going out of their way to be helpful, often unprompted. However, considering how expensive the hotel has become, it could be said to be sitting on its laurels. Our room didn’t appear to have been refurbished for a long time. The room carpet was stained (probably not a good idea to have a plain pale brown carpet in a hotel room). The bathrobes had shrunk so much mine wouldn’t fit around me. You would expect better of a hotel charging around £100 a night, let alone one charging £300 for a Deluxe but still fairly small room! Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent, then again at £24 ahead you would expect it to be. Dinner was only so so. And perhaps the lack of diners on the Thursday evening was indicative of the amount of good choice that people have in Brighton. Finally, Parking has become a nightmare in Brighton. Local car parks are £40 for 24 hours. If you can, park outside Brighton and get the bus in, or use Just Park. I managed to find a spot 15 minutes walk away for £72 for the three days we were there.

To be completely clear our stay in the hotel was very good, however the pre booked lunch in Bistro Du Vin was dreadful. Service or should I say lack of service, was appalling and the quality of the vegetarian meals was very poor

Really warm welcome, which got things off to a good start. The room was large and comfortable. The bed was very good and lots of pillows which I like! Some of the furnishings seemed a bit mix and match which was a pity and I think there was a drawer missing from the desk. But overall very comfortable and worth mentioning a superb breakfast, freshly cooked to order.

The reception, bar area and room, all great. I had issues with management before my stay who were very unfriendly. Breakfast at £25 punchy and not up to standard. The continental was fine , but the full English was poor. I asked for soft poached (hard). Black pudding well done (soft). The sausage was not cooked enough. Tomatoe under cooked. I am particular but my plate wasn’t removed, just the poached eggs brought up 5 minutes later when all was cold and everyone had finished. Waitress was lovely but could only bring up the food. I had breakfast elsewhere.

Reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. Check in does seem to be slightly longer than usual. I think that the computer system wasn’t that great. Bar staff also very polite and friendly. The cleaner on the 1st floor helped to direct us to our room. Good location. Nice rooms. Good showers and beds.
