I recently enjoyed a weekend with my entire family at Guisborough Hall. The complex arrangements - including wheelchair access, adjoining rooms, dog friendly space and special meals - were faultlessly delivered by the friendly and attentive staff. The hall sits in it's own exceptionally well maintained grounds - perfect for an evening stroll and easy parking. The rooms were spacious, quiet, maintained to a high standard and extremely well serviced. Dinner was superb and the choices for breakfast were amazing. Guisborough Hall met our every expectation and I would have no hesitation in recommending it as one of the finest country hall hotels - anywhere.

I love staying at Guisborough Hall. The location, food and friendly staff are always top notch. The hotel has ample parking and the rooms are very comfortable. On a sunny day there is no better place to sit than on the terrace overlooking the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful house and lovely well kept gardens. Large bedroom and bathroom. 2 restaurants . Food very nice fine dining in the formal restaurant more casual in the bar restaurant. Convenient for whitby and surrounding areas to visit.

Stunning location and a beautiful property. Room was great, albeit a little difficult to locate in the Woodland Wing but we soon worked out an easier route. Breakfast was lovely and good value and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

Lovely hotel though a bit like a rabbit warren inside but a great mix of old and new. The best part is the staff - they are just SO friendly, helpful but very professional. On our first evening, as we sat in the lounge, we were approached by an elderly gentleman who enquired how long we were staying and where we had come from etc. We asked him how long had he been staying there and as he walked off he replied "98 years". It turned out he was 98 year old Lord Gisborough! The hotel is owned by Lord Gisborough and his family. The food was excellently prepared and everywhere was very clean.

This is an amazing place! All the staff from reception to restaurant & housekeeping greeted you with a friendly smile & a Hello. Everywhere was lovely & clean, our room was so comfy. It helps that it's such a beautiful building & grounds to look at (although be prepared to walk a fair bit as it is pretty big!) There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere about the whole place too. Food & service were excellent. We will definitely be returning if at all possible!

The room was clean, staff friendly and helpful. The only down was the bathroom, we asked for an accessible room which we got. They provided a bath stool, but the shower was small making it difficult to move around.

The only downside was the cleaning - it was half hearted and obvious from sick stained toilets near reception at midday to windows not cleaned properly so streaks showing - bathroom wasnt as clean as it could be - its a stunning hotel in a fabulous position with amazing staff if only i hadn’t noticed what i did

Our stay was fabulous. Our room, 212, was spacious and exceptionally clean - a credit to the lovely staff. All the food we consumed was excellent and breakfast was very enjoyable. Nice touches like the delivery of fresh milk to rooms made a huge difference to us tea drinkers 😎. All the catering staff were first class, as were the receptionists, whose service and advice on local places to visit, amongst other things, was gratefully received.

The only criticism we have got is the rooms were to hot no air conditioning we booked dinner on the Tuesday and was told to sit in the lounge and some one would come and take you to your table we waited until 8.45 and had to tell them we were still waiting for our table it seems they had forgot about us we didn’t get in until 9.00 the tables were in the bar when I went in to get a drink there was 3 empty tables this was at 8.10 apart from that the hotel is in a nice quite setting.

We liked everything. Exceptional staff. Bedroom very comfortable with beautiful bathroom and this was one of the cheaper rooms. Breakfast cooked to order. Best quality products. We could not find fault.

I have stayed here many times. In my opinion it is the best hotel for miles around. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only thing lacking is air con in the height of summer.

We had a good stay here. Hotel and surroundings are lovely. The room was nice, comfortable bed but awful soft pillows. Breakfast was superb, lots of choice, great fruit platter to choose from and fresh pastries. This was our second stay and would still go back.

Beautiful building, lovely dining and drawing rooms. The grounds are good and it is a lovely place to stay. The only negatives are that the food in the dining room is wonderfully presented but rather disappointing to eat. Check in was ridiculously laboured and we were dealt with quite brusquely. It is lovely to keep some old traditions but perhaps the check in could change with the times. Maybe investing in actual double beds rather than the annoying habit of joining up to single beds would be wise!

We had afternoon tea at the property on check in day which was excellent with very good attentive service. My wife is in a wheelchair and the whole building, once in, is very easily accessible. She can walk so getting in and out of the building was easier than using the wheelchair, but there is an accessible entrance. We had dinner there on one night which again was excellent, very tasty and with very good service. The breakfast on both days was poor sadly. It was cold and on both days we had to ask where our drinks / food were. As the food was cooked for the table, not buffet style, this was poor. The service was less inattentive. When I mentioned this on check out I was not believed. It is however a lovely hotel and a good place to stay.

We had afternoon tea at the property on check in day which was excellent with very good attentive service. My wife is in a wheelchair and the whole building, once in, is very easily accessible. She can walk so getting in and out of the building was easier than using the wheelchair, but there is an accessible entrance. We had dinner there on one night which again was excellent, very tasty and with very good service. The breakfast on both days was poor sadly. It was cold and on both days we had to ask where our drinks / food were. As the food was cooked for the table, not buffet style, this was poor. The service was less inattentive. When I mentioned this on check out I was not believed. It is however a lovely hotel and a good place to stay.

The service provided by the local team at Gisborough Hall was of the highest order, but more important was the fact that staff were always cheerful and displayed a positive demeanour which is so sadly lacking in many hotels and restaurants in this country today. We felt like we were visiting family during our stay and will look forward to returning.

Really enjoyed my stay for a friends wedding. Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Would like to recognise Ryan and Maddie who were fab. Nothing was too much for them. Venue was beautiful and clean. Many things to do, however didn’t visit them all on this trip. 10/10 would definitely and can’t wait to visit again.

The staff were absolutely wonderful and went over and beyond putting a fridge in my room with oat milk for my toddler. Everyone was friendly, kind and helpful and we never felt rushed when dining.

This was our first stay at Gisborough Hall Hotel due to attending a wedding at the hotel. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds and from your first contact with reception, all staff are excellent and a credit to the management. Room was clean and ready. As per the brochure pictures. We had lunch in the De Brus Grill and the food was first class. Prices are a bit on the high side but it is a top hotel after all. Breakfast was exceptional. The bed in the room was like sleeping on a marshmallow. The best hotel bed I have ever slep in from visiting many hotels here and overseas. The Lord of the manor visited around the guests and it was a great experience to speak to him in person. He plays the piano in the Hotel in the evenings. And he is 98 years old. An exceptional gentleman. Biggest bonus for the hotel is the staff. Nothing is a problem to them. Polite and friendly with a sense of humour added in. A great weekend for us. I would visit this hotel again.

The hotel has a charming feeling. The surrounding area is very picturesque and tranquil. Staff are very friendly and nothing is to much they go on and beyond to make sure you are looked after well. The massage and afternoon tea was relaxing and a distraction from ever day life.

I love staying at Guisborough Hall. The location, food and friendly staff are always top notch. The hotel has ample parking and the rooms are very comfortable. On a sunny day there is no better place to sit than on the terrace overlooking the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful house and lovely well kept gardens. Large bedroom and bathroom. 2 restaurants . Food very nice fine dining in the formal restaurant more casual in the bar restaurant. Convenient for whitby and surrounding areas to visit.

Stunning location and a beautiful property. Room was great, albeit a little difficult to locate in the Woodland Wing but we soon worked out an easier route. Breakfast was lovely and good value and all the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Would certainly stay here again.

Beautiful building, lovely dining and drawing rooms. The grounds are good and it is a lovely place to stay. The only negatives are that the food in the dining room is wonderfully presented but rather disappointing to eat. Check in was ridiculously laboured and we were dealt with quite brusquely. It is lovely to keep some old traditions but perhaps the check in could change with the times. Maybe investing in actual double beds rather than the annoying habit of joining up to single beds would be wise!

Large comfortable room, great super King sized bed. Wonderful food (breakfast magnificent, especially the “Full Yorkshire”). Beautiful lounges, and dining area. Highly recommend.

Staff are vey attentive, polite and respectful. It is a very relaxing place to stay, peaceful, beautiful and clean throughout the Hall. Rooms are a very good size and very clean. We never tried the restaurant but if the standard of meals from the bar/grill, which we had, are anything to go by, I have no doubt they will also be delicious. Breakfast excellent range of choice and again delicious. We have previously had afternoon tea here and Highly recommend it and also staying here. Great stop off on way the Whitb.

Amazing Hotel, wonderful service. Amazing food when I separately booked Chaloner’s restaurant. Breakfast was excellent. No complaints. Maybe I’s stay in the wing next time as it’s so close. But it was wonderful to have all that extra space in a room in the old hall. Would 100% come again.

We were very impressed with the hotel and the staff. It was like how things used to be. Lovely laid out restaurant with table cloths. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices and served piping hot. The superior room we had was lovely. The grounds were lovely and well maintained. We will be returning. We also had the pleasure of meeting Lord Gisbrough.

Unfortunately our stay was marred by a well worn carpet in the room .Reported it to reception .Reimbursed us 25 pounds and told us the room was highlighted for refurbishment .When booking a high quality hotel we expect a high standard .Unfortunately this was not met and we were very disappointed.
