I booked a stay through hotels.com for Apartamentos Piramides. When I arrived at the hotel (2nd Feb around 9:00pm) I was told they had no record of my booking. I spent over 4 hours at the reception desk that evening and nearly 3 hours the next morning to try and resolve the issue. I also hadn't eaten since just before the flight which meant over 23 hours without food or water. I used the online chat and Anchit (a supervisor) refunded the amount to a voucher (including a small compensation of £50) so I could re-book. This also didn't work even although he spoke with them on the phone. Thankfully the hotel allowed me to sleep in a (dirty) room. I couldn't unpack as I didn't know if it would be resolved. I was there for four days cycling and this massively affected my plans, losing meals, time and a chunk of my time cycling. Effectively, I would say that I lost a day, meals, not to mention the massive amount of stress and anxiety this caused me. The staff the next morning were really helpful and sympathetic, the staff the evening I arrived weren't great.
