Grand Summit Hotel - Canyons Village, a RockResort

We stayed for the Labor Day weekend and could not have had a better stay. The room was spacious and comfortable, and views from the room were beautiful and there was easy access to hiking and complimentary shuttle services to anything else we wanted to do. We spent a lot of time at the pool and used the steam room and hot tubs. Highly recommended.

The rooms at this resort are really pretty and with the loft room it was a great size for a large group. The staff was all really nice and the "free" rides to nearby amenities were a nice perk. However, I felt like it was ridiculous to only get 1 parking pass for a group of 8 people, especially in off season when the parking lots were empty. At $25 for an extra pass, that really adds up. Also, it wasn't mentioned on the hotel website that the pool was closed for resurfacing. They do allow you to go next door, but I booked this hotel specifically for it's pool. Had I realized it would be closed, I would have gone somewhere else. Further, construction was going on outside until about 7:30 pm and started up at 6:45 am on Sunday morning. I work in construction, I get that they have tight deadlines, but listening to the constant drone of beeping and slamming into rocks first thing on a Sunday morning was extremely unpleasant and ruined the ability to enjoy sleeping in even a little bit and/or sitting out on the decks to enjoy the pretty views. If you have kids, there's not much for them to do in off season, so I'd recommend either planning activities or going farther into Park City where there's more to do. And be aware that when you check out they charge you a resort fee. I wasn't expecting that when booking through Expedia. Maybe it was mentioned earlier, but I hate checking out and having fees added when I think I already paid everything upon reserving.

The staff didnt say much to us, and weren't very welcoming. The pool was getting resurfaced, but the hotel website made no mention of it. The hot tubs were still open, but surrounded by paint buckets. I would have selected a different hotel had i known.

The room was clean. When I made the reservation, what I was most concerned about was the pool and spa, which were supposedly available. We arrived at night, and the next day, surprise! The pool was closed for repairs, and the spa was closed. They also had a sauna that smelled really bad. They ruined our weekend and our celebration.

I stayed here for a work conference in the summer. The hotel is really quiet, the gym is excellent and has a bunch of free weights and machines, and the pool area is really lovely, particularly in the evenings. The staff were very helpful. Great stay.

Very conveniently located next to several ski lifts. Rental gear and day use storage lockers also walkable. Several food options close by as well. Appreciated ski storage on site. Gym and pool/spa really nice! Would definitely stay again on our next trip to Park City!

Great location - easy access to gondola and hiking trails and short walk to pendry plaza. All staff was friendly and helpful. We rented a unit with a full kitchen so we could prepare our own meals so we did not dine onsite. Beautiful pool house! Great workout room.

The hotel is incredibly well situated for a ski-in, ski-out experience at Canyons. While we were there, however, the primary elevator was out of order for 3 days. We had to walk (and carry ski equipment) up stairs that also led us right through/past the restaurant kitchen. Assuming this is fixed, we'd stay here again -- but while we were here, it was a notable inconvenience especially with kids and their gear.

The location of the Grand Summit can’t be beat, physically at the base of the mountain. The rooms were spacious and the hotel amenities were excellent, especially the spa and ski valet.

The hotel advertises a shuttle service based on availability. On our first night, we called to request a shuttle and were told none were available—which we understood. However, we were also informed that reservations aren’t accepted and it’s strictly first come, first served, requiring an in-person request to valet—despite the hotel providing a card with a shuttle number and extension. The next day, we saw two shuttles parked and asked valet for a ride to a nearby restaurant. The valet initially said yes, but then returned to say other guests had “reserved” the shuttle—contradicting the first come, first served policy. When I brought that up, he changed his response and suggested we order DoorDash instead to make it “easier” for us. Eventually, he said we could take the shuttle but would need to find our own way back. Frustrated, we drove our own vehicle. If a service is offered, it should be consistent and fairly provided to all guests. That was the worse experience ever.

Pool area is very small, a bit dirty as well. Not much to do in summer; shops and restaurants closed or very limited hours.

Great location. Room was nice but the only bathroom was upstairs in our room. Bathroom shower could use a deep clean.

Beautiful views, large rooms with lots of extra space, decked out with everything you could need, with extremely courteous staff from the bellhop to the front desk to the cleaners and everyone in between.

It took multiple attempts and lots of wasted time back and forth to the front desk to get a key card to work properly to open the door to my hotel room. After that was resolved and I left the property to go explore, the key card no longer worked when I returned to enter the parking garage or my hotel room. To top it off, multiple hairs were found on the bedding on both the queen-sized beds. The pillows are also in need of an update and we're very lumpy. I would not return to this property unless it were during peak season because clearly it seemed like their operation was only semi-operational, from service to maintenance to accommodations.

This is an upscale, expensive hotel. Because of that, I did not feel the unit was clean enough to justify the high pricetag especially as we visited in the off-season when the lifts weren't even open. There was mold in the shower and the shower curtain was dirty and moldy. The property itself is nice but not worth the pricetag. Restaurant was not open on a Saturday night. There weren't enough hot tubs for the size of the property. Marriott's Mountainside is superior as far as pool and hot tubs. $25 per night for an extra car is excessive in the off-season especially with a 2 room suite. Beware that pictures and titles on Expedia do not match the rooms. We booked a Studio with loft (King, double bed and double sofa bed). The photos showed a bedroom, but there was none. There was no double bed and double sofa bed. It was a queen sifa bed and twin sofa bed. Don't trust the photos or explanations!! Sunrise Lodge has much better room selection and is honestly named and described. We will not stay here again. We will go back to Sunrise Lodge or Marriott Mountainside when we visit again.

Not the pre Covid Grand Summit. I was very disappointed for the price of approximately $600 a night. Pros-location; free shuttle service to and from town; friendly staff. Great beds; ability to use Prime and Netflix on smart tv if you have account Cons-outdated room (622)which I paid extra for a view thinking it would be of the gondola but was just the side lift ; large stain on the carpet; housekeeping only once for a 4 night stay. Turns out you only get housekeeping service once every 3 days. Coffee pot was unplugged but outlet was behind heavy desser. However, front desk had it handled after I reported it. We had to put pot on the floor the first 2 mornings. Also no instructions on how to work coffe pot. Filters provided were not designed for the brand of pot. Keep it simple! Mr Coffee has pots that a 7 year old can operate.; no ice machine on my floor but no information in the room saying I had to go to 5th floor, had to call front desk. No paper or pen at desk in room to make notes on activities.; no concierge to help with booking activities.; I used the gym every morning, it was clean but total body machine was broken the entire time and was the only leg machine. Out of hand sanitizer all 3 days. No longer had breakfast buffet which was awesome pre Covid. In conclusion, this property relies on being ski-in/ski-out for it rates. Amenities are no longer a priority. Also, due to a hip injury, I went snowmobiling, so I can’t speak to ski services.

When we arrived, we quickly realized we were in a room we did not reserve. We were supposed to have two bathrooms, and the room did not have that. We went to the front desk, and JR quickly rectified the issue and we had the correct room within minutes. All of the staff were wonderful and friendly. The room was large and easily accommodated three women. We used their shuttle to go to Main Street which was very easy. Canyons Village also knows how to keep shops/restaurants open during the summer season which was excellent.

Room was clean upon arrival but very small. Basically just bed with little room around it. No refrigerator. Fireplace constantly generated heat even with AC running. Tried calling front desk regarding it but no answer. Valet & shuttle workers were great. No cleaning service during stay even though it was two nights. For $250 a night off, I expected more.

Great property and location! Park Coty if beautiful! Hotel was very nice. We did a 2 bedroom unit. Very spacious. Great pool area!

I liked the fast check process and free self parking. Great views. Good amenities. It advertised a fridge but we didn’t have one.

The hotel and staff were great. However, we had a very difficult time sleeping. The bed was very hard. The cooling/heating system also caused issues. The vent is higher to the ceiling, and when it turned on cold air would blow right on the bed. It was cold and disrupting while trying to sleep. However, turning it up so it didn’t blow as much resulted in making the room hot.

Service wasn’t great, specially house keeping

The valet parking service was excellent, the front desk left a lot to be desired, I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days, and nowhere in the message I received did it say that I had to request housekeeping services 24 hours in advance. In fact, the email I received said that they provided this service every other day. However, when I called to request a change of sheets and towels, I was told that I had to ask for it 24 hours in advance, a real shame. The firepits at the back yard of the hotel, wasn't working at all, I asked for help, help never came

We absolutely loved this property. I was traveling with my daughter and I knew we wanted somewhere clean and safe. This fit the bill perfectly. The beds were super comfortable too which was great after hiking and such. It was also a huge bonus that they had washers and dryers for us to wash our clothing on our two week trip. You pay $2.50/unit and they have detergent and softner sheets for you to use. It seems like a small thing but it was so important for us on our longer trip. Lastly, I want to say that Tiff at the Front Desk was amazing. Our reservation was slightly messed up and she went iver and beyond to fix it. I am so thankful for her kindness and customer service.

We liked the area and loved our room. Peter at the check-in desk was fast and thorough, and we didn’t have any snags for the whole stay. Nice job!

Great location but property is dated Big issue is arrogance about housekeeping Will only do after 3 nights and no flexibility They will not do if u not ready when they arrive. If u miss on day 3 they will not do on day .Room rate is not cheap and would expect better service

The property was conveniently located with EASY access to the ski lifts. We had a fabulous view from the 6th floor. The valet service made parking a breeze. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The front desk staff (JD) and his front desk Manager (Bryan) were helpful and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely be back this Christmas!

Excellent location , great facility and super friendly stuff

Biggest request was ski in ski out. It was with a ski room next to door as exit to slopes. Just right amount of activities centers/pool for after ski entertainment. Restaurants on site or within 5 minute walk.

Easy to get around the property and areas around the property. Restaurant needs a better menu. Chicken on power bowl was dry, probably warmed in a microwave. Not edible.

We booked this stay for Mother’s Day’s getaway, BUT Pool was closed, as was the restaurant. We would not have stayed here if we had been told this. Also earlier morning construction right outside our room.

We were not told that the restaurant would be closed, as were most in the village. Getting room service was a nightmare, the phones did not work properly and we had to go through the front desk each time. Very annoying.

The room was clean and comfortable, and they stock with good coffee. No refrigerator, no microwave. We only found one restaurant open, even from the list Google says were open. Loud construction in the garage, but at least that started at 9am. Staff was pleasant enough, but had little to no information about the construction or facilities. Onsite sauna was closed, which was the biggest deal for us - that's why we chose this location over others. May be fine during the season, if you can find any indication of when that is. Don't stay here in April at any rate, if you want any amenities.

This hotel is very beautiful set up against the mountains. Fun concerts at night. The only suggestion I would make is to have more food options available. There is only a handful of restaurants on property with overall only fair food. The beds are a bit hard, but overall a beautiful, spacious and clean room.

It was the off season so most of the restaurants at the resort were closed. All the other restaurants were open and only about 10 min away from the resort
