Mayfair is a lovely quiet place, very easy to find and access to car parking. It is very handy to Hobart City and my stay was very enjoyable. Bed was very comfy and water pressure awesome

The Mayfair is cosy, comfy and great value. Off street parking is provided. I like to joke that instead of staying with mates and risking parking fines every day that it is less expensive to pay to stay at the Mayfair and then explore Hobart by foot. Be warned, parking in Hobart's CBD is expensive and the parking fines are hefty!

Great position as Metro Bus 540 goes past the front door - free parking onsite and easy access to Hobart Central by bus. Good basic hotel, clean, roomy, comfortable bed & even a bath! Price✔️

Located in a residential area, a little bit hard to find. Receptionist was also the cleaner. Room was spacious, but a bit tired. Microwave in room, but no plates/bowls. Wifi was spasmodic and kept dropping out. Over all, an average place to stay

We stayed in Room 7, a quiet room at the property. Staff at reception in the original, historic building at the rear of the property were polite at both check-in & checkout, & prompt in providing a replacement electric jug for the faulty one in our room. Included parking at our front door was appreciated. The room itself is dated, with peeling wallpaper & worn carpet, but clean. Spacious room with a 2 person lounge chair, small table, 2 dining chairs & t.v. included. The furnishings are period style & charming, in keeping with the main building. The queen bed was pretty good, however an upgrade on the mattress would be fabulous! Heating in both the room & ensuite is provided & appreciated. One bedside lamp is provided, worked well. 2 wall lanterns above the bed not working. Ceiling lights & ensuite lights worked well. Blockout drapes in room appreciated, for a sleep in, after our fabulous night attending the Eagles Greatest Hits concert at Wrest Point. Bar fridge in room works well, tea, coffee & sugar provided. 2 x serves of milk provided, would be helpful to have a few more. We purchased extra milk from the corner shop 2 blocks walk from our room, on Hill Street. The shower over bath tub worked well, hot water available. Good stay for 1 night, for the price we obtained through Wotif, AUD$89.55.

The room had a damp/old carpet smell, which didn't go when you opened the door. The silicon in the bathroom was mouldy and missing around parts of the sink. There was a very dodgy electrical set up in the bathroom. The plate which should be attached to the wall was sitting on top of the heater. I hope no one turns it on! You had to move the bedhead to access any plugs on that side of the room. There was a fan, but the legs had been shortened to fit in a cupboard, so it wasn't stable. The staff were friendly. I wouldn't recommend this motel.

The staff is quite nice and polite. Other than that, this motel is actually not a good one. Though I know it is outdated, however there are things they can improve, for example the cleanliness , and comfortability. Can’t understand why there are ants in the room. The room is quite spacious, but only one chair beside the table. I sincerely advise the owner to spend some time on how to improve the room.

The room needs a big refresh. It’s really dated. Old flower wallpaper, old curtains, marked carpets, odd pieces of furniture. Big room. There were ants in the bathroom. The motel kept calling me before checkin, which was annoying.

My room was quite big, spacious and fairly comfortable - good bed and pillows - and in a good location . However it was quite dated with peeling wallpaper. Either needs new wallpaper or peel it all off and paint it. Just really needs some updating and repair

First time here. Was a problem with power supply through no fault of owners. Very accommodating. Boiling water for tea/coffee. Rooms are older but very comfortable and functional. Wi-Fi was a little weak but so are many other Hotels. Price was excellent.

Last time we stayed we has a spa suite and loved it. This time we had a standard room and it wasn't nearly as nice. Also had very poor wifi connection. My advice is to choose an upgraded room which are well worth the extra charge

Room was neat and tidy. Clean and very functional as well as comfortable. Iron was a bit ordinary and the ironing board very ordinary, however this was immediately rectified with a brand new iron and ironing board as soon as I mention it to staff.

It was a lovely quiet place to stay it got us out of a pickle and so accustomed to our needs. It has basic tv, kettle, and microwave so we didn’t have to go out each night. The staff is so lovely and caring. Would definitely stay here again

I have stayed here several times and it offers good value. The staff are helpful and courteous. The room was a little 'tired' with 1970s- style furnishings but that did not bother me. It was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the early checkin, but soap near the bathroom basin instead of only in the shower would have been helpful.

Just like visiting Grandma decor 😉 Very reasonable tariff for spacious & comfortable upstairs room with bath & onsite parking. Pleasant walk to Constitution Dock but do take Goulburn St back, less steep. Pigeon in the Hole cafe and Marquis Bistro & Buffet nearby. Our third visit for 2-3 nights with views of kunanyi Mt Wellington so close and the harbour. Would stay again. Thank you Mayfair on Cavell 🤗

It was exactly what myself & 2 daughters needed for the night as we had a wedding in city. There is only one complaint there were 3 of us & in the fridge was 2 tiny little milk containers, not even enough for one coffee, so we had to get Uber Eats to get a decent coffee.
