Beautiful peaceful place for weekend getaway. Gorgeous views. Easy to park the car, electric car chargers. Nice restaurant for breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends

while the hotel was nice, it just didn\'t have the right flow for us. There is a pool "heated to 99 degrees" it certainly did not feel like that . There is pool but you have to make a reservation and can only stay 2 hours and there are people getting massages al around so you aunt really talk. I also booked this room for my parents for their 40th wedding anniversary and there was no note or anything saying congrats and they charged the room to my parents credit card which made for an awkward encounter as they were leaving and I really did not want them to know what the room cost. I would say the staff not very knowledgable on appropriate ettiquette

Incredible hotel with so many wonderful property amenities: coffee/breakfast treats, wine hour everyday, electric bike rentals, fantastic beds by Bryte and so much more. The Hotel Staff is outstanding and super friendly!! A must and we will be back for an extended stay!

Beautifully restored military base that used to protect the straight into San Francisco Bay. Now part of the National Park. E-bike rentals come with your stay along with joy rides in Lexus cars. We tried the convertible hot rod and drove to Tiberon. Hiking trails right from the grounds. Epic views of Golden Gate and downtown SF.

So many amenities were included in our stay, such as 2 hours at the SPA daily, food credit, snacks & water in the room with an Expresso Machine. There were many hikes in the area & we “borrowed” ELECTRIC bikes & rode into Sausalito…. What a memorable & amazing RESORT!!

Check in, Farley Bar, Valet attendants are amazing service. The only thing that needs help is detail to the cleanliness. We were at one of the historic buildings and the front porch with the chairs, the table had metal plates that looked like it was from a heater or something mechanical and a almost empty Rock Star can. It sat there for 24+ hrs./ No one came to clean or pick it up. It was such beautiful weather it would have been nice to sit outside our room on the porch to have our wine but the porch area was gross, dirty and used.

I grew up in Mill Valley and never heard of this resort but it’s going to be my new go-to place for when I visit family. The grounds are lovely and relaxing. I felt as if I was transported to some East Coast locale albeit with an outstanding and breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The accommodations are beautiful and immaculate, and there are lots of amenities. I visited with my teenage daughter and she loved it, too. We’ll be back!

There was a slightly odd smell in the building and room. However, the facility is stunning, located in a beautiful area and the day was spectacular. We ate at both Sula (supper) and Farley (breakfast). The service at Farley was slow. The food at Sula was mixed.

The setting is spectacular, the grounds lovely and the feel of the place warm and welcoming. Our room though left much to be desired. It had a pervasive smell of dog urine that remained throughout our stay. The bed only had an end table on one side making it inconvenient to place things one needed overnight. The service at the restaurant was almost non-existent. It feels as if Cavallo point is reaching toward what it aspires to as an hotel but hasn't got there yet. It is, though, set in a place of stunning beauty and for that alone worth the trip.

This resort is a peaceful oasis! The grounds are beautiful, staff was amazingly friendly and helpful, and the property is brimming with history. You could easily spend a day exploring the grounds and taking in wonderful views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. I stayed in a modern room which was spacious, clean, luxurious, and peaceful. The beds were comfortable, and the fireplace was a nice touch. Downtown Sausalito is an easy car ride away, and the hotel offers transportation. From there, you can easily get to San Francisco from the ferry. I’d highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a relaxing experience!

Nice and comfortable but the room was a bit cold and there is no thermostat you can adjust. It got better over time running the chimney. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room are very well maintained but could benefit from a refresh.

Great location, property, and staff. Only complaint is the water pressure in showers. Eco-friendly gone too far. For $900 a night, I'd like to be able to wash the shampoo out and feel refreshed.

This place is about the extraordinary location. The historic room was nice, the bed was fantastic! For the high rate, we were surprised that there were very few outlets, no thermostat or instructions at all, so you must know how to turn on a gas stove and regulate radiators.

Very close to Sausalito and a fantastic view of the golden gate. Stayed in the historic property - so no elevator which was a bit of a trick - but the 2 bedrooms and sitting area were huge and a great place to relax after a day in the city.

Cavallo Point is an exceptional reprieve from the busy-ness of downtown. Awoke to chirping birds, while enjoying my espresso on the porch while lounging among nature. Booked a two bedroom adjoining suite - assumed each would have its own bathroom. Very disappointed-at this price point, that we had to share a bathroom. I communicated this to the resort who did offer a discount to “upgrade” to even larger accommodations. But after spending $1700 for our 12 hr stay - I declined their offer.

Cavallo Point property was beautiful!! From the moment we arrived, the staff were overly accommodating. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, tasty snacks in the room for us with water! A gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge from our room and a beautiful patio to enjoy it off of. Definitely planning to come back!!

The historic room (803) we had was quaint and comfortable. The scenery is beautiful. The bed however was horrible. Rock hard mattress and the head of the bed was lower than the foot by 6”. The pillows were non existent mush. A happy getaway for our anniversary turned into a headache and sore back. We checked out first thing. The staff didn’t ask about our stay- otherwise I would have told them directly rather than leave a review.

This is one of my favorite hotels. It’s such a unique and charming property. It is a fantastic launching point if you want to hike Mt Tam and/or head to Muir Woods. It’s great to grab a ferry ride from Sausalito to SF, or simply to get a treatment at the spa. Sula’s is amazing! If you are into wine, you have to try their “orange wine.” It’s incredible! Too many good things to say about this spot to put into one review. The only criticism we had was regarding the beds. They were too hard and not particularly comfortable. That said, this place is truly delightful. We will be coming back to Cavallo Point as soon as possible!

The area is beautiful, especially the room view we paid for. Unfortunately, it was spoiled by a wedding preparation right in front of our balcony, with setup of a very nice but portable porter potty. The workers set up the place the whole day right in front and came up to our balcony with leaf blowers while I was in my bath robe. When I requested a room change they said they could move us to a different location but it would cost extra for an upgrade. So much for excellent service!! Nothing against the wedding of course, but I felt cheated on the specially booked hotel for our anniversary. They would not even acknowledge any concerns I had. Needless to say, I would not be getting this kind of service at a JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton for a similar rate. Very disappointed.

We had the most incredible time here- our only wish is that we had more time! We loved all of the amenities- blown away by service of the staff! We had a room upgrade which was so special, we loved the view of the bridge from our room so much we stayed in for room service so we could enjoy it! We had the best stay and can’t wait to come back again!

Amazing location - short drive to restaurants, hiking trails, and to SF - but also nice an quiet being tucked back into a valley, away from all the tourist traffic. We stayed mid week, so a drive to Muir Woods was only 20mins! On weekends your mileage may vary.

This is a special hotel/resort. Situated under the Golden Gate Bridge, right on the bay. The contemporary rooms are very spacious (we did have an upgraded room) and nice. Being next to the discovery center cannot be beat if you have younger kids. On site restaurant was good. Staff is amazing. Quick hop back into the city. Marin at your fingertips. I cannot wait to go back!!!

We booked this property because we have a Toddler and wanted an easy open space for him to run around. It also has a unique history and we’ve wanted to check it out for some time. Generally it was ok, but the food and staff were underwhelming. A rating of wonderful on this site I would say is not accurate for this property.

Stayed in the historic room king deluxe. Sitting area was small but bathroom large with natural light. Dinner was slow but good at the restaurant. Very unique property outside of city noise and crime. Very close to Sausalito and Rodeo beach only 10 min away.
