Sun Valley Resort

Lots to do. Golf, bowling, bike riding m, ice skating, pool etc.

Stay was good. Property isn’t dated clean, comfortable bed. Staff is kind and professional. Need a reservation most things, wish I’d known that so I missed out on some things but I appreciate it so that gym, pool, and other amenities aren’t full that you can’t enjoy it.

Public spaces, bar, restaurant and surroundings are beautiful. The pool and hot tub at the Lodge were highlights. Rooms are absolutely fine but decor is dated. Staff varied from charming and proactive (door man, bar tender and wait staff) to curt and unhelpful (both times the person at the front desk).

It would be nice for them to specify if these rooms are at the Inn or Lodge. They are close walking distance, but the lodge has better amenities. It is purely out of convenience because you can still use lodge facility if staying at the Inn. Beautiful area, great pool/hot tub, food is average, and excited to go back when kids are a little older for some fun on the beautiful mountains.

The airport shuttle was great. The onsite bike rentals got me nearly anywhere I wanted to be and the resort shuttle got me everywhere else. The onsite dining was hit or miss but the food was great. Service was great. A beautiful, historical restor.

We joined another couple at Sun Valley lodge to celebrate a birthday. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The pool was lovely and warm even though it was late April. Dinner was delicious. The historic pictures of actors and the art pieces were interesting. We will definitely stay in this iconic lodge again.

We were at the Sun Valley Inn which was great! There are 2 parts to it, the one next to the swimming pool/gym had a disinfectant smell to it - luckily we were in the other part which was perfectly fine.

We enjoyed our stay once again at the beautiful Sun Valley Resort. The Inn will make you think like you are in a magical Alpine village in Austria. The horse drawn sleighs takigg by people around the winter wonderland is a site to see. Their outdoor pool is cool too.

There are a few amenities which were not correctly disclosed about this property There was no jacuzzi at the sun valley inn and we had to walk in cold weather to use the jacuzzi at the main building This is not a ski in ski out property and the hotel does not have a shuttle and you have to use the city’s bus service which is fine but makes too many stops Rooms open to parking lots and you are away from the main building where the main lounge and bars are located I would not have booked a room had I known these facts about the Sun Valley inn

We specifically stayed at the Inn because we like the hot tub. We were told when we checked in that the hot tub was out of commission. They said we were welcome to drive across the property to the lodge & use that hot tub. That was not convenient which is a big bummer. The staff didnt seem to care.

Front desk girl was extremely unprofessional. It was painful to hear her speak with guests. Our room was bad. Our window sat in front of a transformer. The room was dark and depressing. Badly laid out. The whole hotel stinks!! The only thing we loved were the property grounds. Beautiful and well manicured. The lodge pool was just ok. Kids everywhere and no where to sit. I asked if an umbrella could be moved (nobody was using it) near my lounge chair because it was scorching hot and they flat out said no. Customer service is awful here. Most likely will not go back.

Beautiful room and property.

Beautiful grounds and easy access to town by bike or short drive. The rooms in the inn are okay, but nothing exceptional- you are paying for the surrounding grounds, which are lovely and worth it. Vacation however was marred by the surly and shockingly rude check in personnel. She was belligerent and most unpleasant.

Friendly staff, good service, quiet. Nice size room.

A true “class” resort! Wonderfully spacious roo, with lovely western decor. Had a great dinner in the Lodge—such a beautiful place!

beautiful spot. For close to $300 a night, the bedroom was too small. Bathroom was fabulous.

The Sun Valley Lodge was beautiful. Our room had a nice deck with view of Mt Baldy and the skating rink. The only thing better would have been to see skaters in action or a show but sadly we came after the ice shows ended. We enjoyed golfing at the Sun Valley Golf Club and loved the Trail Creek course.

Property was great the Inn is nice only problem was a noise that kept us awake for couple of hours. The staff very nice and helpful

Wonderful place to stay for a weekend getaway. The property village has everything you could need and more. My wife enjoyed the spa while I enjoyed the skiing. The bartender Josh went above and beyond on my wife’s birthday. Hope to visit again sometime in the future.

We will never stay here again. This hotel does not care about customer service, and they are so quick to charge you for ridiculous charges without consulting you. Accusations of damage occurred without discussion or permission to charge. Beware of them charging your card for additional charges.

My room was not ready at 4. front desk said someone would call me which never happened. I finally had to leave dinner to inquire about the room and they said it had been ready. Front desk people are not very good. All other staff including transport from airport were excellent!

It’s a very busy hotel at first I was very upset esp during registration because I wasn’t checked in at Sun Valley Lodge but Sun Valley Inn. From the Lodge to the Inn the drive was further up the icy road. However, the staff was all friendly and very helpful. The restaurant was busy, too, but the food was delicious, the portion was big. Overall the hotel has good customer service, polite and professional and the restaurant prices was reasonable, servings big and very tasty.

We showed up to the lodge area because that was the address listed. Upon getting out of the vehicle the two men looked at us and asked if we were in the right place. They had a little paper list and asked our name, they said ohhh you’re in the “inn” like we were dirt. They told us it’s a couple roads down. We went to the inn and the check in guy was a totally rude. Again treated us like trash. I asked a few questions about the restaurant and pool times, he replied rudely. We went to our room which was nice enough. Then back to the lodge for dinner. Dinner at Gretchen’s was great! Michael the server was the first normal and nice human we interacted with. Then my son asked if we could do ice skating so we go out and ask the concierge at the lodge who says she doesn’t do that and doesn’t know the price and gives us wrong directions to the skating area. We eventually find it and it’s too late and no one is there to get skates etc. The next morning at checkout we did finally have a nice lady concierge at the inn. It’s clear they get lots of rich customers and that’s who they prefer over the average customers like us who had been road tripping and hiking which is why we came here. Lesson learned, never again despite the cute town. I don’t enjoy spending my hard earned money to be looked down on.

I thought we booked the lodge. It showed the pictures for the lodge. Gave directions for the lodge. They had our name on the reception list at the lodge and then told us we were at the inn. Expedia bait and switch.

Hotels.com reserved a room for me at 1 Sun Valley Road, Sun Valley, ID. Upon arrival the attendant indicated I was booked into The Inn, at Sun Valley, not the Sun Valley Lodge. There followed a persistent conversation that I had booked into what I expected to be the Lodge, not the older, much lesser quality Inn. After the manager was contacted, she honored my stay at The Lodge. Apparently this is an ongoing problem through 3rd party booking agencies. I suggest some clarification between Sun Valley Resorts and Hotels.com as to which location is actually being reserved and booked to eliminate this misunderstanding. There is a price difference between the two buildings.
