The hotel and staff are wonderful .The location was perfect right by the beach and town . However, the hotel expect clients to dress for dinner men in a shirt and tie !! Which we found very old fashioned and annoying , so didn't have dinner in the hotel there are standards to which I understand but telling you what to wear for dinner is a bit much !!

My visit to the Belmont was perfect. It is the first time in many years that a venue has exceeded my expectations and some. From the dedicated parking space, through Reception to our room left no doubt that we were expected and welcomed. Every member of the team we met were professional, cheerful and interested in our wellbeing. The dining room staff and the food were first class with the experience enhanced at dinner by the inclusion of a pianist at a grand piano! The hotel’s position and amenities are second to none and, though the weather during our visit left much to be desired that didn’t detract from our enjoyment. I have no doubt I will be returning to the Belmont in the future.

Everything about The Belmont suited us. From its wonderful position - close enough to Sidmouth town centre to take a walk after dinner but far enough not to feel overcrowded. Beautiful sea views from the lounge bar and Horizon restaurant. Food was fantastic for choice, quality and cost. The staff were exceptional - friendly and eager to please. The room we stayed in could have been a little bigger but that was due to our budget. Beautifully decorated. Well done and a big thank you to all the staff.
