It’s a spa resort with a shuttle to/from the station and the doorway. Great staff & services. Gorgeous views and an amazing breakfast buffet and top notch restaurant for other meals. The onsen was public and worth going. You’re there to relax unwind and enjoy the views and surroundings. Well that ticked every box. Lovely!!

Such a pleasant hotel experience! The staff was beyond helpful and very friendly. There are both Japanese and western dining options at the hotel, as well as a delicious breakfast buffet. I would recommend at least booking breakfasts when you arrive as there are not many easily walkable restaurants, and the area is very hilly. The hotel does however offer free rides to multiple locations around Hakone. The hotel has a no clothes Onsen, and they provide free coverings for tattoos. This was by far my favorite room of the whole vacation. Our room (410) had an indoor terrace with a wall to wall massive window that can be opened to let in fresh air. We even had a view of Mt. Fuji and the sky rail that goes over Mt. Hakone. My only critiques of the hotel are that there is no gym, no coin laundry, and while the room was always nice and cool, the hallways and lobby aren’t air conditioned and can get pretty warm during the hot season.

Staff went above and beyond at every opportunity. The onsen was super peaceful and we loved hanging out and dining by the fireplace in the living room. Rooms were spacious and clean and the shuttle was very helpful. Just be sure to arrange for transportation ahead of time if you are doing things away from the hotel after shuttle hours.

The hotel offers free shuttles to near by train stations and some points of interest, and they will also provide pu k up if you call. That made it very easy to get around. The dining options are somewhat limited; however, the quality of everything we had were excellent. The staff was so polite and nice. They all spoke English, so it’s a good destination hotel for foreigners.

We walked to town of Gora though it is very steep. We could not play our planned golf game due to lack of available taxis even though the concierge tried. The hotel is really showing its age with frayed upholstery and damaged wood finishes and outdated decor. The onsen bath was very clean and quiet and kept stocked with towels and amenities. The ‘welcome drink’ offered at check in was just the choice of a beer or wine (half glass) or cola. The beds were comfortable with high quality linens, and room service was responsive. We appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room and the provided water and coffee pods. In all a relaxing stay, but for the price it felt closer to a seniors retirement home than a Hyatt resort.

残念、そして貴重な休みをこのホテルに使ってしまって後悔。部屋は写真通りの広さだけど、部屋中の劣化が気になった。特に風呂場・水回りにサビや水垢がつき、塗装も剥がれてたりと気になった。部屋からの景色も壁で見応えもなく、ベランダは落ち葉だらけで掃除がされてなかった。温泉は大浴場ひとつだけ、サウナさえ無い。大浴場の天井は汚れ、カビ、劣化による剥がれで汚らしく、ボデーソープは100円均一の食器用洗剤のように安っぽくて肌が痛くなった。シャワー室のアメニティーホルダーには水垢か石灰が大量にこびり付いててギョッとした。レストランで7000円くらいのステーキを頼んだが、焼き加減を聞かれることが無いままウェルダンを出してきて、ゴムの様に固く美味しくなかった。ラウンジの焚火を囲んでいるソファーは全部くたびれてシワシワ。肘掛けの布は破れてて汚らしかった。全体的に非常にコスパが悪く、もっと箱根らしい温泉宿に泊まれば良かったと後悔し、とても勉強になった。唯一よかった点は、車寄せを担当していた男性スタッフの対応が素晴らしくよかったことで、これにすくわれた。ビジネス・旅行で年間50泊以上ホテルを利用してるが、今回のハイヤットは今年で1番残念な滞在だったと感じている。ハイヤットの看板を掲げるなら、ちゃんとメンテする必要があるし、景色の悪い部屋は使わない方がいいと思った。

The Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa is a beautiful luxury hotel. It is expensive, but really, the whole area is. This hotel is a beautiful mix of Japanese style and western comfort. I am being a bit tough on rating, because for the cost, my expectations are very high. The hotel is great and the staff is wonderful. BUT the hotel does have some very outdated features and could use some updating and deep cleaning. Our room was lovely and spacious, but there was a bad smell. The TVs was disappointing, since it has a Netflix button, but the hotel said that we cannot access (note: every other hotel we stayed in Japan had this ability), so we were left with the 3 English speaking channels. But I do not want to sound negative; the hotel is GREAT, but for the price I am being nitpicky. The spa is amazing!!! The restaurants are great (but get reservations early; they were full a lot). And the location is breathtaking.

This hotel is such luxury. We were a family of four and our room was so large it was amazing. The staff were wonderful and so helpful and we enjoyed our favourite meal of the trip in the sushi restaurant. Most definitely a highlight. Such a wonderful hotel we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

Acceptable but closer to a businesss hotel than onsen hotel. The bath area doesn’t offer anything fancy, no view, no outdoor. Same for the room. We booked a tatami room to fit 2 adults and two kids. Size is fine but lack of amenities and view straight in the next building isn’t ideal. Overall, average stay.

We loved the living room. It was warm and enviting. It was a great place to interact with the other guests. Your staff was very polite, professional and accommodating. The downside was we were not able to get a taxi to take us back to the train station. We had to roll our bags up the steep hill to catch the cable car. The entire trip to the train station took us 2.5 hours. It was very inconvenient.

丁寧な接客と必ず笑顔で挨拶を返してくれる素敵な所でした。ある程度旅慣れ(というよりホテル慣れ？)している前提で説明をされる部分があったので、ある程度は事前にホテルならではのあり方(ミニBARの存在とかルームサービスのメニュー表の大凡の位置とか) を理解しておくとより過ごしやすいと思います。理解しなくても素晴らしく過ごしやすいです。

We arrived to Hyatt regency hakone and were immediately escorted in and were told they were waiting for us. From that moment on, it was nothing but first class treatment from the entire staff. It was an incredible experience and the staff experience alone should make people run here in droves!! It sadly rained (4.5 inches in one day alone) while we were there but the staff was always helpful with information, alternative advice, and wonderful smiles. Would definitely recommend as they went above and beyond.

Lovely mountain retreat, very stylish. Unfortunately unable to accommodate our 12year old daughter - even when we booked the room for 3 people. There were only 2 beds provided so she would have to sleep between us. The hotel refused to put up a futon for her so she had to sleep on the chairs. Shocking, seeing that all the other hotels we stayed in provided a bed or a sofa bed for her.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They went above and beyond to accommodate us with halal meals options. We are traveling during Ramadan, and they provided us with something to eat for Suhoor (meal eaten before sunrise). Beautiful resort and great staff. Highly recommend staying here!

Everything was satisfying but I must say that the breakfast buffet was exceptionally great. We were a party of 8 with 4 kids. The restaurant prepared a space for all of us sitting together.

Puja had amazing service during breakfast, and breakfast was the best meal compared to the other resorts, although I wouldn’t eat lunch or dinner here. The resort is surrounded by beautiful trees and amazing scenery, Ryuji Yoshino went above and beyond in service to insure our group was taken care of, I would return to shake his hand again.
