The King suite was nice overall. There are some deferred maintenance issues, particularly paint peeling from the bathroom ceiling due to a lack of ventilation.

Our stay at The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU was an absolute highlight of our trip to Baton Rouge. If you are visiting the area—especially if you have a former Tiger in your group—this boutique hotel is an absolute dream. The property is decorated perfectly, steeped in rich purple and gold tradition with incredible memorabilia and artwork filling the spaces. It provided the ultimate backdrop for reminiscing about old college days and enjoying the unbeatable campus energy. The rooms here are easily a 10 out of 10. "Amazing" doesn't even fully do them justice; they are immaculate, incredibly spacious, and beautifully styled with a high-end feel that makes you look forward to coming back and relaxing after a busy day. Everything felt fresh, meticulously clean, and designed for comfort. When you are ready to unwind, the outdoor pool area is excellent. While the pool itself is on the smaller side, the surrounding courtyard area is gorgeous. Dotted with lush palms and classic Louisiana charm, it is a truly beautiful, quiet space to sit back and soak up the sunshine. One important tip for future travelers concerns the dining: the breakfast here is absolutely wonderful and so incredibly good. It is a top-tier spread with friendly service to match. However, you need to keep an eye on how you book. If you utilize a third-party booking site rather than reserving directly with the hotel, breakfast is not included and is billed separately, however worth it.
