Motel 6-Redding, CA - South

Haven’t stayed at a Motel 6 in a long time. It was a good stay. Property had a lot of security cameras and bright spotlights for security. The cleaning staff do a really good job of cleaning the rooms and one of those dudes was really nice and welcoming. Front desk staff was helpful.

Rough neighborhood. Police activity in the parking lot at 11 pm. Room cards did not work on pool gate. Was not informed that pool towels are at the pool, so we used room towels. Then asked for replacement towels and when we got to the room, we discovered that they gave us two floor mats, not bath towels. The towels were probably clean, but appeared dirty when held up to the light. Need to be bleached apparently.

I had to purchase the used of a microwave and refrigerator. Suggestion; you should charge a refundable deposit like other facilities. Thank you!

No fridge no microwave and bed squeaked Ac was nice and tv had 30 channels

The pool was full of scum and dragon flies, only one ice machine worked and the parking lot is full of trash

I have stayed here before and have liked it the rooms have always been super clean, but this time there was cigarette butts all over the place. The room was super dusty, and there was pee in the tolet. The pool and pool area weren’t clean and the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week.

While the hotel is older and can use some remodeling, I gave it a good review because they have the choice of smoking rooms. Nice to be able to have a group stay together when there are one or more smokers. And the rooms have windows that open so you can get ventilation in the rooms which is important for smoking rooms. Plus it is close to the freeway, but I could not hear any freeway noise so easy on and off. And plenty of restaurant choices very close. So basic accommodation, nothing fancy but very reasonably priced, smoking room choices, plenty of restaurant's both walking and within a mile. For me that's a great hotel.

This was one of the best Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at 😊 the front desk lady was great, efficient and friendly when I checked in at 8:30pm. The pool was nice and clean. My room was adequate and comfortable. There was one large roach on the floor and I understand that these things happen. It didn’t deter me though. I just saw the one roach. For $77, you can’t beat that price!! Bed was clean, bathroom was clean. Tv channels left something to be desired. On

The room was filthy the floors hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long. Everything was damaged al nd broken. The beds creaked so loudly whenever you moved and they weren't comfortable at all. The grounds were filled with people nodding out and others very "energetic" all night long. People were loud and rude. The ONLY saving grace here was the staff. They were extremely helpful and nice. I wish they could work someplace better! And the laundry facilities were good cleaned and dried clothes nicely and didn't cost too much

They did not have my reservation but were able to give me the same I reserved. Microwaves are an extra $10 dollars.

There was blood on the edge of the bath tub. The room was very dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. I do not recommend staying here. I have stayed at other motel 6’s that are a lot better.

Catelyn was the star of the show!! She was amazing when helping me check in, felt like she was a good friend of mine. Very friendly, welcoming! I want to preface that Catelyn was amazing during my stay, but the rooms were gross. The room however was kinda gross, when I lifted the sheets, there was something gooey in it (pictured below). I asked Catelyn to switch me rooms and she gave me a room next door to my original room. We got into the other room, I lifted my sheets up, and what do you know, it’s gross again but this time there was like black stuff all over it (I took a video of it). I showed Catelyn and she was so apologetic. I told her I wasn’t mad at her but disappointed in the housekeeping staff for not having clean sheets. So I got new sheets. She told me to talk to the manager the next day. So I go down next day and the manager wasn’t in but the girl (someone else and forgot her name but she was new) told me that she would have the manager call me and we could find a resolution. Manager never called or came up to my room… So very displeased with that whole thing. I am just glad that Catelyn was there who was very kind and thoughtful! But I will not stay there again..

Where to start?. So dirty. When we arrived we walked into our non smoking room & it smelled like someone had just smoked in there. There were about 10 stains on the top sheet, if not more (oily circles and dirty stains) Food on the WALLS. The bathroom hadn't been swept or vacuumed. So I went to ask for a room that had been cleaned properly. Kaitlynn at the front desk was amazing. She gave us a new room, but unfortunately it wasn't much better. I wasn't expecting much from Motel 6, but I wasn't expecting this. My daughter (6) was excited when we got there, and took her shoes off when we entered the rooms. Just from walking up and down the room once, her feet were filthy, as if the floor hadn't been washed in who knows how long. The second room smelled like old oil.. like canola oil or something. Which was weird because there is no restaurant in the motel. And no microwave. There is no fridge or coffee pot/kettle. The area felt unsafe & looked unsafe. The reminder when you close the door to deadbolt your room with both locks confirmed that feeling. Nothing felt clean in there. Dead bugs on the floor and in the windows, spider webs in every corner. Stained/dusty curtains. Stained bed skirts. Missing pieces of the counter. Food pieces on the desk. Broken towel rack. Honestly I felt so uneasy in there. Do yourself a favor and spend an extra 20-30$ for peace of mind and cleanliness. :( Would never recommend this motel to anyone. :(

There must’ve been at least 100 small dead flies on the walls.

The room was not clean (so much so that we had to clean it ourselves) the bathroom door had two holes on on the unside and one on the outside. There were mysterious stains on the walls. The rolm smelled of ciggarettes.

The front desk staff was friendly, professional and welcoming. Room was clean, everything worked, though there are signs of aging and needing maintenance. There are restaurants close by, but may not be walking distance. Overall the property is welcoming, convenient, well kept and basically typical for Motel 6.

Too noisy. Could hear people talking all night.

The staff was very kind and got us into our room quickly. However the room was supposed to be non smoking and the smell of cigarettes was unbearable. We opened a window and slept with it open for the night even though the area didn’t feel the safest

Good spot to sleep, and get back on the road. Internet was slow though it wasnt useable, just used my phone instead. The showers , at least one i got had no tub , its like a open shower connected to the bathroom, not fancy but does the job. Bring your own shampoo, didnt find any. Had a bar of soap though.

You get what you pay for. No amenities, just a bed, bathroom, and small desk. No fridge or microwave. Didn't check out the pool, so nothing to add there. Walls are paper thin and hear everything or neighbors did. Some maintenance issues while we were there.

Hotel is old and not updated and all the rooms smell like smoke or cannibas!? Pleasant and clean enough but didn’t feel it was as good as other motel 6 I have stayed in

The corners in the room had spider webs and dead insects. The smoke detector was dangling of the ceiling. Television did not work.

Everything was great but the bed, it was very noisy, I was afraid to move, didn’t want to wake up my hubby. Mattress/bed should be replaced once they have been used for 3 years or more

The room was clean and quiet, the mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. When we arrive arrived there was no toilet paper, soap or shampoo in the room.

The room is clean in general but there's water leaking from the refrigerator. The wall and door may need to be replaced or fixed soon.

Clean room. Great staff.

Terrible experience. Had a multiple night stay booked but wasn’t able to check in on night one because I was assigned nights on the fire I was working. Came in the next morning, before check out time, and was told my whole booking was canceled and I was not entitled to a refund OR even being able to stay the rest of the nights I needed without PAYING FOR THE WHOKE BOOKING AGAIN. Terrible communication between Hotels.com and Motel 6. Ridiculous way to treat a customer that had a multiple night booking and needed the rest of the time. Borderline criminal on taking my entire booking cost versus the first night and then expecting me to pay all over again. Terrible and would can still just hope to recoup any amount of my “stolen” booking by Motel 6. Terrible.

The front desk staff Levi was very friendly and kind. Unfortunately when we called around 11:30am (before the estimate checking 3pm) to ask about leaving our luggage in the front desk, a staff member named Shey or Shay, over the phone was rude and not helpful, she specifically said “well if it said 3 then come at 3!” In a very condescending and rude tone and then hang up without giving us time to explain the reason of our call. At 3pm we went to check-in and our room was not ready, they told us to come back in an hour since they are understaff and the room was not clean. They promised they would call when room is ready. 1 hour when by and they didn’t call. When we call they seem to have forgotten about calling us then proceed to ask we come back in another hour. We decided to go have dinner and then come back. By the time we came to check-in at 6pm the room was still not ready! We had to wait 1 hour more to get into our room. So disappointing, what is the point of making a reservation? Awful experience!

They changed my room with out notice

We arrived with an already PAID FOR reservation. at check-in the NEW employee claimed it was not paid for. She said my Amex was declined. Then she said she would have to start the reservation over, even though i showed her the confirmed, PAID, receipt. She called a manager at home & was told just to start over, I said okay as long as we got the room at the same price. The new price was $10 more. The next day, when looking at my AMEX app. I saw that the first reservation DID go thru. Hence, I essentially paid TWICE for the room & the 2nd time I paid extra.

The staff person was very helpful and issued a refund for me. The room I reserved (handicapped) was not available, so I was issued an "upgraded" room meaning, TV, Microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot. That room had none of those. She gave me another room and it had not been cleaned...bed unmade. I requested a refund and went elsewhere.

Typical mid grade Motel 6. It was clean and the staff was very friendly & helpful. I changed my plans and arrived about 1/2 hour before check in time. She said that was fine, I could check in and she found me a room where I could park my motorcycle in front of my room in a quiet and safe place.

Easy location. Right off the freeway. Clean rooms and semi updated. Comfort beds, Staff was very friendly

Area seemed unsafe. Many people loitering around. The interior room walls were crumbling. Looked like unrepaired water damage.

The hotel staff was great. There was homeless hanging around. People in the parking lot talked until about 11 pm. I didn't see or hear of problems but I did feel uncomfortable walking to the corner store at about 7 pm because of what appeared to be homeless hanging out. There was what appeared to be a hooker on the corner nearby. Like I said though, we had no problems and slept all night and showered in the morning. The hotel staff was great.

Nice staff, not the best location, room was okay. Not the cleanest, but they are cheap accommodations.

Was worried a little bit about a Motel 6 in Redding, but this place is like a hidden gem. Off the highway, secluded and quiet, room was clean staff is very friendly. Definitely gonna stay here in the future.

Do not recommend to anyone not even basic things were provided like (microwave , fridge, table, soap) was told by front reception this things are part of the premium suites and an up charge of $60. The one thing was included they provided was coffee from 4am till 11am and when we went to get that the lady said there machine has been broken for weeks and they can’t make any. So why keep telling guest they have it when they clearly can’t provide. The rooms were not very clean and was just massive disappointment over all. We have been travling for weeks and mostly staying at motel 6 and this had to be the absolute worsts one!

There was no soap at all. No shampoo or conditioner in the shower and no hand soap. The front desk said the soap was on back order. No cream for the coffee. Broken remote. Would not go back. Get some soap!

There's a lot of food options. Lumberjack's good place to eat. Your staff is friendly. Then there's several fast food restaurants about block away

The bed caused back pain, no coffee on premise, toilet didn't work properly, sink sprayed everywhere, no in room fridge/microwave and shower use in next room extremely noisy.

Staff was nice, room looked like photos and was clean. Exterior condition was not as good, seems like guests arnt very respectful of the property. We didn’t use the pool but some families did, looked very clean. Hot water and instant coffee in the lobby in AM.
