BEWARE and read the many negative google reviews on this place prior to booking. I wish I had. This hotel is absolutely disgusting from start to finish. We stopped here with my 3 year old after a 9 hour drive to stay the night. The pool area was strewn with dirty towels and I question the cleanliness of the pool as the water was extremely cloudy. Our room had not been cleaned in some time as there were red stains on the sheets, spider webs and bugs in all corners, visible food residue on cabinets, counters and eating areas in kitchen. To top off this lovely experience you could hear literally everything from the room next door. When we laid our 3 year old down for bed, we listened to a couple swearing/screaming and in a physical altercation. At this point we decided to have all 3 of us sleep on the pull out couch in the common area which felt like sleeping on a pile of rocks and was also filthy. We are both disappointed and disgusted at the lack of standards of such a big name.

This was the perfect place for us to stay on a quick business trip to Hartford. It is just outside of Hartford, near shopping, restaurants, etc. The drive from the hotel to UConn, the Mark Twain and Beecher-Stowe houses, and the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History could not have been easier. The staff was very helpful. Our suite was a nice size and very clean. Much larger than most city hotels and complete with a small kitchen and lounge area. Breakfast was very satisfying. There were a few minor downsides which may be more important to some: -The complimentary local shuttle has a 5-mile limit. That will get you to some of the shops and restaurants, but falls just short of the tourist sites. -The hotel is rather spartan in terms of decor. (I think that the maintenance guy that told me "If we put a clock in the pool area, kids will rip it off of the wall and throw it like a frisbee," sums up the decor style.) The pool shower area is nice. Add some shampoo, a bench and a few hooks to the room and it would be great. Add a clock so guests can tell what time it is. The room keys did not work in the pool door the day I went.

The entry road had very deep potholes at the entry to the parking lot. Our first room had a non functioning toilet, our second room had loose handles on the bathroom sink. The emergency exit door area was rusting away. The side entrance door wouldn’t open even though the card access showed green

We’ve been to this hotel a couple of times before and had a nice stay. This time we were less impressed. The water in the shower was lukewarm at best, the pool was cloudy, and the overall appearance seemed less clean than usual. The staff was friendly, which we always appreciate.

The property was very dirty and unkept. The pool was green. there were flies in the bathroom in the pool area. We found hair in our bathroom when we checked in like it had not been properly cleaned. We asked for clean towel and for our trash to be taken out. they made us come to the desk and get our own towels and they made us put our own trash out at the end of our hall. Anytime we had an issue and there were many they would tell us no management available. We had no hot water for 15 hours on the day we checked out and the night before. they ended up having to refund us and a lot of other people for our entire stay.

Upon arrival the room wasn't ready. My adult children had their own room which was infested with bed bugs. Now for breakfast the service needed improvement. The pre made omelets where mixed. The omelets that were made with meat was not separate from the meatless omelets. The sausages were in the same warmer with the potatoes. Food service was poor.

Have stayed here before, but really noticed this time how run-down it is getting. Rooms are ok but not super clean, mattresses getting old and lumpy. Bath towels were nice, however. Carpets throughout dirty and getting tattered. Saw several ac and heat registers that were filthy. Outside grounds not well kept, poop recepticals not cleaned. Appeared that someone slept in his/her car overnight near our windows- car had dark track bags hanging out all windows. Pretty disappointing. Will not return

We were there for my brother's wedding and reserved a suite months in advance, only to arrive and find our reservation had been cancelled. We stood at the check-in desk for a long time, my 82-year-old mother worried sick that we didn't have a room. We finally got a room that was terribly FILTHY and run-down. Torn carpet, frayed and lifting carpet, stained and frayed furniture, dirty dishes in the cabinet, drawer in the kitchen in pieces when pulled out, filthy windows, curtains falling, and not being able to close them. It was the grossest room we have ever stayed in. Starting at seven in the morning, slamming doors for the storage and room outside of our door. If this were on my credit card, I would stop payment immediately.

This was my second stay at this hotel, and it will unquestionably be my last. I woke up covered in bedbug bites, with multiple bugs found in my bed. My face and arms are severely swollen, and my sister, who was staying with me, suffered numerous bites as well. This experience was both distressing and unacceptable.

Stayed at Homewood Suites for an overnight to attend a graduation in West Hartford. Was in a great location, the room was spacious and clean. I was really comfortable in my room even though I only needed the night. Two detractors though were the wifi didn't work, and the drain in the tub wouldn't stop running. I'm sure both of these could have been resolved if I reached out, but only staying the one night I made do. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was a plus.

We stayed 2 nights, but didn’t get housekeeping service. Don’t know if it’s every other day, but itt wasn’t outlined at check in. The TV remote didn’t work, but the front desk replaced it and made sure the replacement worked. Very friendly and helpful staff.

All in all, good stay. The employee working the front desk this morning was less than par with her people skills, along with her over all demeanor. She was eating a bowl of cereal while trying to talk to me. I set the room keys on the counter and she said "Put them in the bowl!" I had no clue what she was referring to and she proceeded to tell me the room keys I was turning g in had to get placed in a glass bowel that was on the counter. She didn't welcome me when I came to the couch ter to check out. Not a Hello, How was your stay... Nothing! Proceeded to eat her bowl of cereal good and said nothing to me I requested a copy of my room bill and she printed it and handed it to me without any verbal response, nor did she look up at me. Personally, she was rude and doesn't exhibit and Customer Service skills from what I saw.

Some staff were great - the day girls The man at night was horrible. Told him about a toilet issue on second to last day. no one came to repair it. Finally overflowed on last morning Coffee maker wasn’t working told me there was nothing he could do. Very disappointing

The location is very good. It's right off Interstate 84 in Farmington and on Route 4. Having close access to the highway gives you access to several restaurants and the West Farms Mall/Corbins Corner shopping area. You are also a straight shot on Route 4 into Farmington or you can go in the opposite direction to West Hartford and Blueback Square for several restaurant options and some local shopping. Our room was nice size. We had our 6 month old and had plenty of room with the two full size beds and her pack and play. There was also a separate living room with a kitchen. My only knock on hotel is the signage off Route 4 is terrible. It's difficult to find the entrance from the road.

The property seemed a little bit dated. The pool didn't have towels and was dirty so they only swam 5 minutes and then got out. The breakfast was very limited and poor quality. We stay in Homewood Suites all the time, it is a shame they can't seem to be consistent across different locations.

The location and ease was a plus to this hotel. The staff at the front desk was usually not there. When we tried to check in at 4pm, an hour after check in time, we were told that the room was still not ready and we had to wait. The room itself was nice and spacious but not very clean. Beds were small but comfortable. Breakfast was not good and made us sick, so we didn't have it the second day at all. I did go to the breakfast area to get coffee the following day and saw that the people handling the food did not wear gloves, that may have had something to do with it.

This was a hidden gem for me because I ALL the years of driving around that area, I never noticed the hotel but I am glad I did. The front staff were so nice. The breakfast was delicious and I loved the variety. One suggestion, have a waffle machine. Lol. The room was very comfortable and clean. I will be reserving rooms in the future.

Check in was good. Not much communication with staff person. Was not satisfied with room location. It was noisy because was next to elevator. Noisy every time elevator moved. Couldn't get restful sleep. The breakfast was terrible. Eggs bad, sausage patties bad, burned/ overcooked. Check out is at 12, housekeeping knocking at door at 9 am.

Carpet in room was torn up. The insides of drawers had stains and may have been sticky. They need cleaning and relining. The shower curtain was frayed. All in all though the staff was super sweet, responsive and quick to respond. The location was perfect. The air conditioning was powerful AND quiet which is rare and critically important in these hotter summers. Breakfast was not really edible except cold cereal.

Common areas were fine, but room was run down. Ripped carpets, broken curtains, toilets leaking, broken drawers in kitchen, dirty dishes and cutlery. Hotel staff was quick to respond to issues. Breakfast options were limited and no gluten free at all.
