The motel is nice, motel drive and signing not great

Property was well maintained. Staff were pleasant. The only negatives were the shipping containers in the parking lot blocked our view and the pool was closed. Otherwise, we would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was clean and updated, but towels and washclothes were dingy and needed to be replaced. Also, there were huge shipping containers in the parking lot at our rooms that made it difficult to park due to lack of maneuvering room.

Highway noise is loud. Ask for a room away from the highway. Access road needs some work. Walls between rooms are lacking sound insulation.

I wish I could take a picture and show on this rating . Mobile mini containers everywhere 40 ft ocean going containers everywhere in parking lot horrible.

The room was clean - as it is each time we stay here. However, this time I noticed the towels are looking old and the white has turned to a gray (not as clean) look

This was the cleanest place I have ever stayed! Exceptionally clean down to the nooks and crannies and all the corners.

Everything about the hotel was absolutely perfect. I hate to even mention it, but the bathtub drain ran quite slowly , Rm 114 I think it just needs a little Mr. plumber. I would stay there again in a minute.

The toilet was dirty. The water in the sink would not go down the drain. There was no hot water in the sink - I never bothered to try the shower! My room had no complimentary water or cookies as did my sister's. I called for the maintenance person who never came. We left early and did not stay for the second night even though it was paid for.

The room was clean and comfortable.The parking was easy and the continental breakfast was good.

The only reason i gave it four stars instead of five is because the bathroom was very small.

The room was big and beds are good and comfortable. The sink, bathtub and toilet seats were low like it was designed for children. Breakfast can be called snacks. The night clerks were nice and friendly.

Great service at front desk, but room was worn. Shower would not drain and couch was worn awkwardly tilted forward. Nice view out front but loud from highway noise.

Rooms are a little run down and must smelling; bathrooms are small and could use updating. We paid extra for a "mountain view" but that was a stretch. Overlooked the parking lot and a giant tractor trailer. I wouldn't stay here again.

The view is pretty good if you get a room on the side of hotel facing mountain. The furniture , carpet, etc in room is old and needs updating. It was dark and dingy. Its a one star hotel at best. The pictures on line make it look better than it really is. The maid staff was nice and helpful.

In our room, the beds were the most uncomfortable beds I've slept on in a long time. Also, the bathrooms for some mysterious reason, have no exhaust vent. There's a small, 4x6 vent-like thing in the wall, but that is definitely not an exhaust vent. The property is located very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is great. Staff was very friendly. They just need to upgrade the beds and put some exhaust fans in the rooms and that will help.

This is the third time we've stayed at the Best Western Smoky Mountain Inn in Waynesville while visiting family. The hotel rooms are very clean, large and updated modern. The beds are a little soft, but comfy enough. The front office staff are very personable and helpful. The lobby isn't very big, nor is there a lot of seating for the dining area, but they do offer a continental breakfast with the room stay. The location is okay; it's convenient to a Walmart if needed. Otherwise, there's a little drive into town and other restaurants and shops. It sits atop a hill (or small mountain), and the scenery is pretty. It's not difficult to locate or get to. It tends to be fairly quiet even though it's close to the interstate - especially if you get a room in back and quiet neighbors. I would still bring a white noise maker if you're sensitive to highway, vehicle or neighbor noise. All in all, it's not a super fancy hotel with a zillion amenities, but it's a very nice, clean hotel.

The free my desk person was terrible and wouldn’t speak to the possibility of an early check in, less than two hours before checkin. I asked nicely, but she lied about there being a room ready and insisted that she would know until after 4:00. She also said I could check in early for an extra $40… so obviously there were rooms available The hotel wasn’t full or busy. She shouted at me to “get out” and said she would call the police if I didn’t leave. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable with staying there and booked a different hotel a few miles away and were able to check in immediately. I asked to cancel the reservation and she said she already had charged my card. I complained to Best Western and Hotels.com and was charged for the room even though I didn’t stay and have not received any feedback from anyone. We had booked 4 nights and haven’t been contacted by anyone about this terrible experience.

We enjoyed our stay here as far as the convenience and the Mountain View. However the staff was very unfriendly and unprofessional. Every time I asked for towels or wash cloths I was questioned on how many was in my room and they acted as if they didn’t want to help me. If you stay there you will want to avoid a lady named Angie. She is very rude and needs to be disciplined!

Super friendly staff and comfortable bed

disappointed that hotel could not provide early check-in causing me problems despite advance request. Front desk seemed unconcerned and unwilling to assist. Needed 2:00. Shouldn’t have been a big deal given advance request. No storage room for luggage at reception. Otherwise a good stay and convenient location. Value to price was so-so.

For a mid-level hotel, this one's fairly average. My initial encounter with an older woman at the front desk wasn't that great. She seemed really put out that I arrived at 2:30 to the point of rolling her eyes at me. I knew check-in was at 4pm, but often rooms are ready ahead of time, so I was just checking to see if that was the case. She also seemed miffed that I booked thru Hotels.com. When I walked out, I thought perhaps this woman shouldn't be working in customer service! Certainly not as the first person the public meets. When I checked in, my room didn't have any coffee cups & the coffeemaker hadn't been cleaned, nor was there a bag in the ice bucket. These were amended the following day, without me pointing them out. Other than that, the room seemed clean. I had to run the fan continuously because otherwise, every time the a/c shut off it made a super loud squeaky hinge sound, like a door from a haunted house! The toilet & sink are so low they're awkward, and I'm only 5' tall, so I'd hate to see anyone taller using them. There's NO soundproofing at all & you hear everything from the neighbors. Breakfast is lame. I didn't even bother after the first morning. The woman that works in the breakfast area was VERY friendly though, as was the younger woman who I encountered the first morning at the front desk.

Very clean room. All staff we came into contact with were very helpful and friendly. Carolyn is outstanding! Parking a large pickup was a little difficult due to construction containers stored in the parking lot in front of the rooms. Definitely will stay again next time we’re in town.

I would have gave 5 stars, but cannot. The reason being is due to the morning desk staff. The lady at he counter acted like it was below her to get out of the chair in the office to help us. When she did, she was very rude to us because we were making her do her job. The afternoon staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant.

The lady that checked me in was rude and unfriendly. Perhaps it was my fault for being so happy to enjoy my 42nd wedding anniversary at your hotel. Her bad attitude helped me to understand that because she has a job it does not mean she has to be excited about the people that are happy in her presence.

The property is nice and the room was very clean. However, I canceled my future booking due to my experience during check-in. I have a legitimate service animal in training. After telling the woman behind the desk this, her attitude with me changed completely. She asked what service the animal provides (as she is allowed to do) and I told her one of the services she is in training to do. Although i dont have to show the letter from my doctor. I was on the phone trying to get a picture of it from my daughter. While trying to explain this to the woman, she repeatedly interrupted me. Eventually stating with a rude tone "I didnt know you could be alerted to (what my symptom is), I have (same symptom)" while glaring at me. I started to say yes she will be trained to and again she interrupted me and rolled her eyes. I dont have to disclose the health issues causing my symptom(which can be a symptom of a multitude of things), and her attitude made me feel as though I needed to defend having my service animal. I understand people have lied about or abused this service, but treating someone with a legitimate service animal this way is appalling. I frequently choose Best Western over others, but will not be booking with one again because of this experience.

I liked that it was quiet with amazing views of the mountains but was also a short drive to downtown shopping and dining. I only wish they had more hot options for their continental breakfast.

Clean, quiet and good views from the property other than the construction next door.

There is construction in progress next to this property. Storage containers making the parking very limited and difficult. During the day the area is noisy with construction workers blasting loud music.

We stayed here for Thanksgiving and loved it. Housekeeping did a great job with keeping our room clean. Breakfast wasn’t that great, they need more options for food but other than that, it was great.

Everything was excellent with the exception of the breakfast choices. FRESH fruit would have made the breakfast better.

It is an old style motel, but clean and welcoming. Small but nice bathroom and comfortable beds. Very skimpy breakfast and heat was a bit challenged. Not my usual Marriott, but comfortable and pleasant all totaled, if sparse.

We liked the location. There's a nice view of the mountain and the surrounding area. I liked the plants and trees. We only stayed for 1 night so we didn't get to try the pool or outdoor patio. We were a little disappointed with the breakfast because it wasn't as good as the one at the Best Western in Georgia. Also the breakfast room is small. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast was not the greatest. Not much to chose from and the second day we were there the pancake machine was not working. That was the only real hot food that was there. The staff were very nice. It did take the edge off irritation. I also wish that there was an area for our families to sit down and hang out. There wasn't much of an area inside for that. there are plenty of spots outside, but it is November and gets cold at night.

Clean nice place to stay. Only complaint is that at 8:30am there was no breakfast left and we were told it would not be refilled even though breakfast ends at 9:00
