Super 8 by Wyndham Universal City

I know this property is decades old, however all the stairs are cement and some of them are missing pieces. The parking lot needs to repaved.

I thought it was very thoughtful for having designated Veteran Parking by the office and swimming pool area. The only thing I did not like was the pot holes and what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle with 4 flat tires.

There was plenty of parking, only complaint is the parking lot needs work, its very uneven and broken presents a trip hazard.

First of we book here because of the EV chargers, non of them worked. The room was full of Fly and Mosquitoes, my kids and I got bit. The comforters are full of holes from cigarettes burn, the sheets are stained so are the towels, the bathroom is dirty and have old hair from previous guest. The beds are so high not suitable for little kisa!...do your self a favor and book somewhere else.

I had booked the room prior to reading the reviews and can say the people who wrote the poor reviews must have unrealistic expectations or are just mean. I found check in quick concise and painless, my smoking room was not ready and I said I would wait but the clerc heard me earlier say I would be swimming and said no worries I have one by pool that is ready and put me in it. The room was a little dated and in this day and with our economy anyone who is operating or owns a business should no the difficulties of our time. The room was sparkling clean and we'll looked after during my stay and the price was unheard of I paid half what I would have at other hotels that are not as welcoming. I am returning in a couple weeks and I will be staying right here this is my go to choice of hotels for all my future stays in San Antonio. I hope I can get the same room again. Do not believe the reviews they are not representative of my experience.

The rooms were so bad that we just slept in the car. Old , moldy, the bathrooms were filthy. I asked for a change of room twice and all the bathrooms were the same. I’m also not a fussy person but the disgust was beyond my threshold

Positives: The staff were kind and helpful! And the living area of the room looked clean and renovated. Bed was very comfy! Negatives: The bathroom looked filthy. Reddish brown smears and splatters on the wall and light switch, and the tub was heavily damaged on the surface which also looked dirty.

Yall have mold on the ceilings and bed bugs I got bitting up all on my left arm.

The bed was ok but the room wasn’t clean at all . The tub had black spots in it . I would never stay there again. But from my experience you get what you pay for.

Our stay here was nice enough but it goes to show that you get what you pay for. The lady at the front office was really nice though, she checked me in promptly and let me check in prior to 3 pm which was nice. She also forgot to return my ID to me and she came up to the room to return it instead of calling me and asking me to go to the office. That was super nice. The rooms are not your luxury hotels and the appearance and cleaning leave something to be desired as you can see from the pictures. The floor is laminate and was not clean. The bathroom tub is the worst I have ever seen. Definitely doesn't make you want to sit in it and enjoy a bath. I had to not look at it even stepping into it for a shower. The paint on it is falling off, there is a calking around it but the job definitely was not made by expert hands. The door has an extra security adapter but you can tell it was removed and reinstalled higher. Yes, I put it on then then tugged at the door. That security addition is NOT going to stop anyone if they push the door and want to get in. There were no tissues in the room. Had to call and ask for some, they said we had to go to the office to make requests like that. We went over to the office and they did give us one but really? The house keeper told us she didn't have any. The t.v. was not working, had to call someone to come and set it up for us. The hair dryer was not working either, called it in and someone came over to take a look. Space here ran out . . .

In pictures it looked clean, nice and like a great property for the price, but in reality it was filthy, tub was old, cracked, bedspread had holes, funky smell and someone was smoking pot and the smell was incredibly strong. Both of us got nauseous. Not a safe place for two women.

Extremely dirty and holes in blankets. Lots of Marijuana smoking coming in the rooms. Staff didn't care at all blood stains too on sheets.

Got what I paid for. 99% sure the room I stayed in was recently a crime scene. Door was damaged, indicative of a battering ram, room wreaked of bleach, no carpet on the floor, no art in the room, and the tub surface was peeling. Luckily I was traveling solo and just needed 5hrs to sleep and shower. I would NOT recommend a family or even a couple staying here.

Our stay was just fine! The only real "problem" was the beds (but NOT A COMPLAINT!). We are short (5'3") and the top of the beds was well above our hips! And with us in our late 50s and 70s, bad knees, etc, we had to use the desk chair to get into bed, until we were able to borrow a family's step stool! So if you are short and have bad knees, bring a 2-steps step stool to get into the beds =) Besides that, it was a comfortable place to stay! We had a downstairs room (cannot do stairs). The room had a fridge (but no little freezer in it), microwave, hair dryer, a small desk, comfy chair and plenty of lights. It is an older motel, in need of some repairs, like the tub's handicap bar jiggled, but it held up just fine. It is a no-frills place to stay! If you don't care about a "free" breakfast, a pool, etc, all you need is a room to sleep, read, watch tv, and have, at times, hit-and-miss internet, at a really good rate, then this is it! If you want more "frills" then spend more money and stay somewhere else. But for us visiting family and wanting to spend our money more on food and time with them, this was a nice place to stay! The people that worked here were nice. We stayed for 6 nights and had them clean a couple times and one time we just asked to change out the towels and were very accomodating. Staff was not friendly when we checked in pictures of hotel look nothing like the property. This building was very outdated and not in a good spot. A/C worked mediocre and inside all needs to be upgraded as well. I did reserve this last minute but still very bad.

The room was noisier than I thought, we could hear people walking and talking in other rooms.

My stay has been great. I love their beds. It's high up and very comfy. It's quit area also.

The room was hot. Took hours to cool off. I didn't have hours to spare so it took a lot of my sleep time waiting for room to cool. It was 89 degrees in the room to start.

The mattresses were too high off the ground.

fix the a/c and only had 3 little pillows for a king size bed that were flat better tv selection

The ONLY "complaint" i have is one trash can was not emptied when i came in, it was NOT full, maybe 1/4 full. Not a huge deal as there was no food in it. I am sure if i had called, they would have taken care of it as the people i did have interacrion with were pleasant and helpful! This is an older property - a nit-picky person can find alot of things wrong (ya get what ya pay!) as it does need some expensive makeover / fixing (i work for a remodeling company!) but the bed is comfy, bathrooms work, has fridge and microwave, so to sleep & shower and maybe have a snack or meal in your room, it is fine! theres also a desk & a chair/coffee table in king rm, so can do some work if needed, tho the internet can be a bit "hit n miss" at times (now i didn't have too much a problem watching a streaming movie this time!). If you want other amenities in your motel (ie breakfast, gym room, or all in 1 building, not have your door open to the outside) this is not for you. All in all, it was a nice stay, i had all i needed at a great, budget-friendly price - thanks again!

Nice property. No coffee maker or coffee in the room. They did have coffee cups though. Paint and sheet rock peeling off in bathroom. The a/c started making a loud noise just before bed. Finally stopped after awhile.

This property does not care about persons with disabilities. I got turned away with my service animal. They wanted me to show an "ID CARD" for my service animal? Absolute ADA violation. This business should be ashamed. Good that banks can get your money back, cause hotels.com wouldn't help at all

Worst hotel in Texas. The check in process was so awful. The man picked a fight with me, a single woman in the middle of a city at almost midnight. Thee were bugs and stains on the sheets.

I extended my stay an extra night and cakes the front desk early in the morning to let them know and update the system. I told the attendant i did not want room service as my girlfriend was gonna be alone. The cleaning person was not informed by morning service person and walked in on my girlfriend changing. Very unprofessional!

didn’t even get to stay here. booked everything online, got all of my information just to be turned away from the property because i am 20, not 21. even though i have stayed here previously.

They did not Change my seat daily and whenever they took my towels to exchange them.They never brought them back to me.They did not take out my trash.Every day after work.I had to come over and clean my whole room.When that is their job and I paid over a hundred and twenty dollars a day for them to do their job but they didn't

Absolutely friendly staff and very welcoming. Room was clean and amenities on hand.

Great service from the front desk

Keep in mind what your paying for the room And this place is great. I had no bug issues like I've had at other hotels in that area. And the bonus is this place is within 20-30 minutes from all the fun stuff to do around there

As far as the price they are within budget. However the place could use an upgrade. The door had previously been kicked open because the safety lock could not do its job due to broken trim. The stair by my room had two individuals outside(same individuals) Friday and Saturday one was on a bike, they looked very suspicious. The hotel has a lot of potential because it is located next to a freeway but I don’t think I want to save money by risking my safety lol

Travel with family felt safe , bed was comfortable.

They lied on their website and said they offered breakfast but didn't offer any breakfast of any kind.They didn't even have juice or water.And they said that they had breakfast standard every day , that was a lie

Nice mattresses although they were more elevated than a normal bed. Our room had a sagging shower rod so the curtain didn't stay closed well causing a wet wall and floor. The hairdryer also had a blown fuse and did not work. There were no breakfast items in the lobby though rooms had a coffeemaker. Nice, clean, and safe budget-conscious hotel,

The only thing that would have made it better is if there was coffee and a coffee maker in the room. The only really complaint I have is, I was not told there would be a $40 refundable deposit on top of the room cost, when I made the reservation.

Room could definitely use some upgrades. Bathtub had cracks and the finish was flaking off. When went to check out, lobby was locked no coffee or breakfast was available, no idea how long there was no indication when anyone would return. Check-in was fairly easy. The price was good for the room
