HYPERION Hotel Garmisch - Partenkirchen

Very pretty, courtyard is wonderful, easy to drive to activities, parking no worries, great breakfast and awesome staff.

Breakfast was excellent (and recommended by a 17 year old boy). Room was very comfortable and the amenities including the sauna were spotless. Staff we met were very helpful and courteous. Would highly recommend.

This hotel says it has a restaurant but it was mostly closed. A buffet was the only choice for a meal when we arrived, but as we saw it had only some leftovers I asked the staff if they could refill the pots so we could eat. They promised to do so, but failed, told us the buffet is now closed and then charged us regardless. Only after heavy arguing they dropped the charge but nobody felt they needed to apologize for failing to keep their promises and sending us hungry to the room. We felt uninvited and most of the staff were downright rude (with the exception of a very friendly Maria). Many details suggests this hotel is in trouble, a belt missing from a bathrobe, promises to fill the minibar was not kept, there was no shampoo in the spa area, etc. The facilities have all the potentials to serve as a nice hotel, but with the hostile staff I will certainly never visit this place ever again.

Lovely place to stay just a short stroll from the ski slopes and cafes/shops. Lovely staff and nice pool and sauna.

The battery in the door lock died and we couldn't access the room from the outside because the USB port for charging the battery was also broken - as a result, after breakfast we had to wait for the locksmith to break the door lock, even though we reported the problem the night before.
