La Quinta by Wyndham St Petersburg-Clearwater

We chose this hotel for a weeklong family vacation but I will never stay at this hotel again. The front desk workers were very nice, the beds were comfortable and the pool was clean but those were the only good things about our stay. We went the first two days of our weeklong stay with no housekeeping service. I was informed that we have to request a cleaning daily when I went to the front to ask for clean towels. I put our room on the list for the following morning and still received no cleaning service. I requested again for the next day… STILL nothing. I did another request and finally got service the day before we were to check out. The floors were either dirty or leeching pigment because it made our feet black so we wore sandals inside the whole time. Our room also had gnats flying around that we could not get rid of. The elevators weren’t in service and the ice machines weren’t working either so we had to buy cold drinks and a cooler since our room was not an upgraded one with a mini fridge or microwave. Even though we paid less than $600 for the entire week I wish we would have spent extra money and stayed somewhere else. Anywhere else!

It was ok. It looked like they had done a partial renovation. Did not have a microwave or mini fridge. Traffic was loud all night. It smelled musty when we walked in. I don't know if they experienced damage in the recent hurricane. Biggest issue was no working elevator.

They don't offer smoking rooms. The ice maker and phone and elevated did not work. The price was reasonable and there are many stores , restaurants etc in walking distance

Pool was filthy, probably not cleaned this season, ,,, room key cards kept malfunctioning, had to return to front desk DAILY just to enter room X 5 days....Hmmm

Elevator does not work. Matters alot if they placed you on 3rd floor and especially if you have luggage.

Place is under reno and the bathrooms were done good. Rooms were dark and difficult to turn lights on, some of them were broken or not working. Even though staff came fast to fix. I booked too rooms with fridge and microwave but none of them had it. I had to change my parents to another room with fridge, but door would not close. Elevator was "broken" even though it was working for cleaning staff. Guests not allowed to go on elevator. The stay was overall ok, but not aa comfortable as the price should require

I liked nothing about this property. Pool was gross, no chairs either. Pool electric chair for disabled was missing most all of the parts; wouldn’t function. Carpets filthy in main building (tons of debris on them) bed sagged in the center so much you could visably see it when you opened the entry door; very uncomfortable. A/C worked well tho!

My husband and I are in our late 60's with health issues. We were asked to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I asked for help. They said the elevators were broken and no one could help us up the stairs. The lock inside the room was broken. The light outside our room was broken, the electric wires were hanging free and no light bulb. The bottom of the pool was filthy. We had no shampoo in the shower and no soap at the sink. There was also no little refrigerator to keep anything cold. No microwave to warm anything up. It also had an old musty smell. This hotel was awful and would never go there again. They offered no discount for the inconvenience of everything.

The elevator didn't work.being 77yrs old I had to climb stairs to the 3rd floor and my hips hurt a lot.

The air conditioning unit inside the room leaked. We call for services in which they said they would send maintenance in. They never did and water soaked some of our luggage. The pool was disgusting not anything I would want to swim in. Would never stay again!

The room was dirty when I got in. Floors felt like they hadn’t been mopped in a while. Wore socks the entire time to walk around room. Bed sheets were stained. Place is terrible.

Front desk was polite and courtesy. However, the room had roaches in the bathroom and bed! The room also smelled very musty. Would never stay again.

The floor in the room was filthy. I didnt realize it until i walked barefoot and saw that the bottoms of my feet were black. It was forsure the hotel room floor as after I walked on the floor after a shower and noticed it as i put shoes on. Bed mattress had stains on the side of it that looked like vomit. It was super noisy but is right by the highway so not hoteks fault. Pool was closed and unfortunately unkept in 90 degree weather. Wont be back to this laquinta.

Floor was filthy. Won’t clean room unless you request it. I requested it every day because of the floor and they only cleaned it once the 7 nights I was there and the floor, which is laminate, was still dirty. When I got out of the shower, I had to put towels down to walk on so my feet wouldn’t be filthy when I got dressed. It was like pulling teeth to get them to put anything out for breakfast. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Wouldn’t stay here again, regardless of price.

My room and bed was infested with bed bugs, I notified the staff. They were not concerned. I would say this was the worst stay I can ever recall. I would like a refund.

The staff were friendly and helpful however the room I had was filthy, the floor was black, the shower had mold and the room had a smell. Overall the hotel needs better management. Will not stay there again

This place is dirty the room smelled like cigarettes and mold, do yourself a favor and go someplace else.

I really don’t know where to begin. First, I entered the first room, and it smelled like mildew and insect spray!! The second room, I entered, smell mildew, and the sheets felt damp. I woke up with several little red bites on my leg, even though I slept with PJs. When the service person from downstairs came to bring me to my second room, she was telling me how how lucky I was that I got this room because the other side of the hotel was worse than the room that I’m getting now. So overall, I would say I would never return back to this hotel! The room was $179 a night and they gave me a refund of $79. Just to sleep overnight to get rest. Please check your comforters and sheets for the fact that I had makeup on my comforter and sheets,and towels used in my second room .

This property has done some updates like remodeled bathrooms, tile floors instead of carpet, new ac units and recent paint inside and outside. The bad was we had sagging bed with broken frame, saw roach, people randomly knocked on door and wouldn’t be there when you check, people ignored pool hours, windows allow every bit of sound from major roadways from people in pool till midnight. The tile floor kept making my feet black so guess it doesn’t get mopped.

We got what we paid for. Our room was mostly clean but the bathroom door would not close and one of the dresser drawers was broken. Don’t expect your room to be cleaned during your stay, however staff was happy to give us new towels and take our trash when we asked. The stairwell often smelled of illegal substance and was very humid and hot. We never felt unsafe but there were people passed out from drugs or alcohol in the front or side of the motel and there was a police presence when I checked in. Our room was front-facing and US-19 was very loud from cars and emergency vehicles all hours of the night. We did not partake in the free breakfast but it did not seem all that bad. This worked for us in a pinch but we will not stay here again.

We needed a place to stay close to the airport. We got a room close to a room that had a barking dog. We called the front desk and they were trying to get ahold of the owner but they were not answering their phone. The bathrooms were remodeled and was amazing. The rest of it very dated. The dog did quiet down but it was late at night.

We had no television because we had no Wi-Fi the next day we woke up. We still had no Wi-Fi and no television that’s an amenity that I paid for. With this place I’m looking for some sort of refund.

The room did not have enough outlets for chargers, a and cpap machine. Also, the room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. We stayed seven days and had no way of keeping anything fresh and cold.

This trip had thee legs, and this was the final one. I was really looking forward to being in St. Pete. The location really was not bad at all as it was on two major streets. One leading to the places where I wanted to go, I just wished that the other street were not a flyover. Sure I can get to it, but I’d have to backtrack. The staff turned out to be quite friendly and helpful. This would prove crucial toward the end of my stay. The facility was quite dated, and there was a sign in the lobby informing guests of the renovations underway. It would have been most helpful to know that the hotel had no elevator. I was put onto a third floor room. Thankfully, I was in the same building as the inside stairs. For one thing, it was in the 40’s outside. For another thing, the stairs are unaffected should it rain. When staying here, it is essential to have the key card at all times. It was needed to get to the stairs. So, I’m happy that at least the hotel is secure. Breakfast was a small affair with cereal, baked goods, toast, juice, and coffee. I could take it or leave it. The room was a bit dated, with no phone charging outlets by the lamps. I had to use my charging cube in the plug by the bathroom sink. That, of I’d have never gotten a charge. Now, the bed was super comfy. Check out was a breeze. I had left a phone and only noticed later on. I called to see if they could send it home, but they could not. I risked my flight and returned to pick it up. I was really glad.

This place does not look like the pictures. The building its self needs lots of updating and cleaning. Bathroom had hair in the shower. Although that is updated it’s gross to see things like that. The room smelled old. Right next to highway so noisy and pool view was not good with screaming kids.

Not sure who the other reviewers of this property were but the hotel was not clean! Very old. TV did not work. Door closed but the seam of the door did not shut so you could see outside from the bottom of the door frame.

My room had no refrigerator or microwave this visit although I had it on a previous visit and the room was advertised. The room air conditioning could not keep up with the heat, so it was much too warm. The nightstand light was broken.

Property was very dated. Room was dirty. The bed sank so far in the middle it was like you were sleeping on the floor. Walls were paper thin. You could hear the conversation next door like they were in the room with you.

Was treated rude and was asked to leave without any notice. The manager Cynthia would Not listen to anything i had to say and was NOT willing to work with me on allowing me to stay until I could get some help. I will Never stay at a Wyndham hotel again. She was not allowing me to use my free night. I don't like the way I was spoken to and treated. A formal apology should be given to me

The staff were horrible during a very bad storm when I booked the place though I would have a refrigerator to store my food never thought I would be walking up stairs at 63 and later to find out they was a evelator but they lie to me. Sorry about the spelling but so pissed how the staff treated me and my family and the other folks just looking for a safe place in the storm

Clean room, staff good.

Front desk staff was great, room was clean, house keeping was wonderful. Breakfast was just ok though. I have stayed at the Laquinta on 4th Street also, they had bacon and sausage to on there Breakfast bar! This hotel no meat what so ever just starch and boiled egg. For someone who does not eat alot of starch it made for a sad start to every day.

I enjoy the hospitality of the staff

The man who checked me in was the nicest person ever! I appreciated the kindness and made sure everything was how i wanted it

Worst check-in ever, waited for more than 20 minutes, I had to step off the line and when I came back my position wasn't considered and had to wait 15 more minutes. Lady at front desk terrible doing their taks, I asked for a 1st-floor room and she didn't want to give me one - I saw at night several rooms available. The room was dirty, the bathroom kind of ugly and not well-maintained. Don't stay in this hotel and look for a better option.

The room didn’t have a garbage can. I stayed in a room more towards the back of property and a lot of homeless people were around at night time and hanging in stairwells, seemed like this is was a “permanent residence” for most people there.

Location was really good. Close to St Pete airport. Beds were comfy. Only bad thing was the smell of the lobby and rooms. Really strong moldy smell which seemed to be coming from the A/C units.

Beware of the location/directions link in Expedia - the address sent me 25 minutes past the actual address. At 1:00 AM, this was dreadful. The gentleman at the reception desk answered my call and stayed until I arrived, thank you. The room is very basic and fairly low-end, but expected. The bathroom was clean. The pillows were old and broken down. They should just offer coffee and tea in the morning since the food items were plastic wrapped from frozen "bagels" or "waffles".

So they remodel everything was new but it was missing a microwave and mini fridge. Bed headboard broke but the staff came quickly to fix it. Breakfast was ok lots of choices but mostly microwave or toaster products nothing freshly made, that was a little disappointing. Overall for the price it was a good stay.

The breakfast was absolutely terrible. You either had cereal or frozen waffles. The whole place smelled like nothing but weed and a lot of bums walking around. Only prepackaged waffles muffins and bread. No actual sitting area for breakfast.

I like the places, it cleaned everything. The attention was good. But I didn't like the breakfast because it didn't have options for people with dairy and gluten allergy.

The room was ok, I sanitized it with Lysol wipes and it was surprisingly clean. The bathroom was big, light and clean, however, the furniture was old, the ceiling was dark, and the breakfast was awful: mouldy bread, very scarce. On the last day there was no breakfast at all, because the food wasn’t delivered to them.
