This is a great location and easy to walk everywhere. They offer valet parking which is great, but it is slowwww. They tell you to call down to request your car ahead of time, but they don't answer the phone so you have to go down and wait. There was only 1 valet person so it was really inefficient. The check in process is also slow, if there's even 1 person ahead of you that needs something, you will be in line for 10+ minutes waiting to speak to someone at the front desk. The rooms are fine, the views are great. They A/C unit was finicky, and we were either freezing because it wouldn't kick off or sweating because it didn't kick on intuitively. Windows do not open/crack open for air. The bathroom is TINY. The beds were comfortable. There were no cleanliness concerns or issues. Staff were friendly enough. Would stay here again.

Very dated hotel. Needs a serious remodel. Disappointed in the very small bathroom in the hotel room. Only one of the two elevators was working for a hotel with many floors. We lodged here for only one night which was the saving grace. Convenient in that it is located in downtown and near the L.

It was ok. Parking rate was $50 per day- location was excellent. Easy to walk or uber. Room rate was under the normal. The shower left a pool of water on the floor- no biggie just needed extra towels. All 3 ice machines were not operating. There is a store right by the hotel and good food.

The hotel is definitely a bit out of date and several things are not well maintained. Our room had a computer chair with chunks missing out of the arm rest and the shower didnt work at all. Which was an unpleasant discovery after coming home from a concert and being sweaty and exhausted. They did switch us to a new room but only had a queen room instead of 2 full beds. Not ideal, but at least we had a shower. The halls are not air conditioned and the elevators are old and shaky. One of the elevators was not working when we left and we ended up just taking the stairs. They definitely need to invest in some of the infrastructure of the hotel.

The room was in need of remodeling as it was very outdated. The carpet was sticky throughout and there were a fair number of bugs in the room. The elevator broke down twice during our stay and the fact that we had to pay $58 per day for parking was crazy.

I understand the location costs more. I picked this one mainly cause location to soldier field and the fact that it says parking available for 58 dollars. Which is cheaper than most in the area. I got there and space for maybe 5 vehicles to park on side of road in order to check in. There was suppose to be vallet parking, I got there 30 minutes after check in time and their parking garage was already full and no more vallet. They had pictures and addresses for 3 garages close to the hotel for me to try to use at MY own expense. For over $200 for one night, the mini fridge was so tiny it was hard to fit anything at all in it. You had to really shut the door and make sure that you heard it click, otherwise you could just push it open. The staff was friendly and the deposit was only $75. She told me which you get back right away after checkout. I said cool, so you dont have to wait for it, it will go back on my card at checkout tomorrow? She said yes, its over 31 hours after checkout and I have still not seen it in my account. If you use this hotel for the location, its walkable to soldier field and plenty to eat and do around. Just make sure if you have a car, you check out garages close. The 1 I used would have only cost 32 dollars for 24 hours, but thats only if there is no event going on that night. It was over $75 with spot hero and it was hard to find where to get back into the garage, many people same problem.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Location wasn't awful, being across from Grant Park was nice but it was extremely loud and the hotel had a strange odor inside, even in the rooms (to the point where I had to buy air freshener). The hotel clearly hasn't been updated in a while; lots of peeling paint and stained carpet. My room had mold on the ceiling and again, a really unpleasant odor. The fitness center had several machines, but about half of them had "out of order" signs. The stairs to go to the upper floors are hard to access and seem to be reserved for staff; very difficult for customers to find and actually use when the elevator is taking a long time.

Good location. Bathroom is not vented so the whole room steams up or smells, desk chair broken, no shelf in shower for soap and stuff, towels thin and coarse. Not very clean even after daily housekeeping - long hair on bathroom floor despite guest being bald. Fitness room was useless, equipment didn’t work properly.

Very nice hotel in a great location. Be forwarned that they apparently don't have a large parking space for valet and you might be out of luck. Not fun wasting time driving around trying to find an overnight lot.

This hotel is not worth what we paid. Because it was a chain - Best Western - I assumed it would adhere to a certain standard of cleanliness and service. We paid $1500 CAD for 4 nights and the room was very old and dirty. The carpet in our room made our socks black so we had to keep our shoes on the entire time, the room had mold and the shower wouldn't drain so you showered in water that was backing up from the drain. There were hairs on the floor and shower curtain from previous customers. The beds were doubles which was very small for two people. I assumed a "double" meant a double standard with two Queen beds. The pillows were very low quality and tiny and the duvets weren't inside a duvet cover which made us wonder if they washed them between guests. It was pretty gross, actually. The staff doesn't greet you and it felt like you are bothering them when you arrive. It is not what we expected for a Best Western at all. The building is very old and should be renovated. Do not waste your money. For our first time in Chicago it was very disappointing to stay here.

Room was filthy, beds had crumbs in the blankets, bathroom had hair everywhere, table in main room was sticky, absolutely enormous roach in one of the hallways. Completely disappointed, especially considering I paid $420 for one night to stay in disgusting conditions. The entire hotel needs to be renovated. Embarrassing in comparison to my stays at other Best Western properties

The room was dirty, every cabinet door was broken and there was sharp fiber board hanging off them. Bathroom door was broken. Floors haven't been vacuumed in days if not weeks. Air conditioner/ heater was extremely loud and kept my wife up.

On arrival the onsite valet parking was full. No help available with luggage and no space to park to unload. Nearest parking was several blocks away. Cockroach was found in bathroom when we arrived in our room on an upper floor. They had us bring our luggage downstairs to move us into another room that was on that same upper floor. lugged our luggage back up to the new room and immediately found stains/debris on the bed sheets. Room was loud and we could hear street noises and other hotel guests as they were in the room with us. Not a good experience.

The towels were thin and dingy gray, the vent above the shower head was filthy (yes, some people do look up and notice such things). The pillows were lumpy, the furniture looked rather beat up. The space under the door let in too much bright light from the hallway. The location is great. The accommodations were adequate for out needs, but it could - and should - be so much better.

Went for a concert at Soldier Field. Location was ideal for walking to and from the venue. The hotel walls are extremely thin, we could hear the radios from the cars below driving by, all night (we were on the 5th floor). Staff was very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Bed was very, very comfortable. This is the only pro. The walls are extremely thin and you can hear conversations, being held at normal volume, through the walls. The shower did not hold in the water unless you aimed it towards the back wall - it would be all over the bathroom floor if you showered normally. There is zero counter space in the bathroom.

The rooms were very small compared to other places we've stayed at in the area. The door on one of our cabinets was falling off. Bathroom door wouldn't close all the way. Hallway was very narrow which made it difficult to maneuver our stroller. The area the hotel is in feels safe. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, train and bus stations, and parks.

I arrived a bit early. They didn't allow me to check in early, although it was confirmed the previous guest had left. I asked a kind favor to prioritize cleaning my room first but it was not entertained. I asked to switch to another room that is ready and has been cleaned but my request was rejected. No effort was made whatsoever to help guests except the easy response of saying a sharp "NO" with a stuck-up face. Finally passed the check-in time, 3 pm, but my room was still not ready. I told them straight back, "Before 3 pm you were strict with your check-in timing policy, now after 3 pm, I am being strict regarding my rights". The staff at the counter, Samantha was rude to me from the beginning. I requested to speak to the manager, but she rejected my request saying the Front Desk Manager, Damazo refused to see me. Then I made a call and sent an email to the General Manager, Octavio but I was ignored. The overall service at the hotel was really bad. They covered up for each other so that any report a customer made will not reach to the top management of Best Western. Very unprofessional. Bad customer service. I would recommend this hotel at all. Just horrible,

The front desk staff was great. That was the only upside. We checked in and our kids found drug paraphernalia in the safe. We were given a different room. This one had issues; one of the tvs had no sound, we called 4 times for extra pillows before going and getting them ourselves, one of the ac units was incredibly loud. When we brought down the things we had found they refunded our parking but told us they couldn’t do anything about the cost of the room and to talk to Expedia which also was a nightmare. They did also comp us breakfast which was their cheapest thing on the menu that had toast and eggs. I’d never stay in this hotel again or recommend anyone else to. At least we saw some cool pigeons out of the window.

Perfect location. It’s a little farther south, so it’s the perfect balance of the lively city but also quieter than the busier areas. Walking distance to the transit system and every amenity you could need. Definitely recommend for anybody coming to Chicago

The property is next to a great bakery and also to Yolk's, the best breakfast restaurant in Chicago. You get a $10 breakfast voucher for a different restaurant, which is a way to save money, if you want what's on their limited menu. Trader Joe's, Target, Walgreen's, a good deli, the Roosevelt 'L' (subway) stop and the Field Museum are all within an easy walk. But, the fan in the heating/ cooling unit in the room made such a racket, that I wouldn't want to stay in the room in summer, when you'd have to leave the unit on all night. The place is clean and convenient, but I'd rate the hotel 2 1/2 stars, rather than 3. It's the best area to stay, the rate was good and there aren't that many other choices nearby.

Great location, close to Millennium Park and the museums. Free coffee and shared microwave in the lobby. However, there was noise -- doors had to be pushed closed so we heard a lot of doors slamming throughout the stay, windows are not great for sound dampening.

Excellent location to walk to all the sites and attractions. Further away from the branded shops but still walkable at a stretch. The staff are good but Francesco , the house staff, is exceptional. Friendly , happy and always doing something. Paris baguette located on the ground floor is outstanding for food options but mainly serves sandwiches and Cofee with a n array of fantastic pastries. The morning breakfast deal at Meis’ is a scam. I would go to Paris Baguette for coffee and breakfast.

Hotel was ok - a/c was noisy and there was noise outside. I paid in advance for breakfast which is a ripoff - it ended up being vouchers limited to a very specific breakfast which is not good considering I was booked/paid for 5 days. I also got given the wrong vouchers at reception and was not refunded my first nights breakfast.

Property is very dated and needs updating. It’s clean and staff are helpful. Great bakery next to it which you can enter without leaving the building. This can get very busy at breakfast time and isn’t cheap but is very good. Right opposite Grant Park which is huge and busy so feels safe even after dark. Few mins walk to Roosevelt station away the park which is on 3 lines so easy to get about the city from there.

Its nice to see that the hotel takes care of the hotel and on the side they have a restaurant that takes care of the food. For dessert they have a french bakery with wonderful pastries that are out of this world. Best combination I have seen that works well and is convenient to the people that stay here. Thank you!
