There was no Wi-Fi, the heating system didn't work at all, and the room wasn't cleaned. Only one person handed over the key and said to leave the key in the room before 11am tomorrow and leave. The hotel hallway smelled very bad

Beautiful spotless room, comfortable beds, 20 minutes walk to town, friendly reception, free parking and WiFi. Only real drawback is the quite narrow parking spaces, and we also thought it was quite difficult to find the entrance to the car park at the back of the property. Bathroom is also a little bit narrow.

We only needed a bed for the night for a party near Cardiff. To that end it was adequate, just. We had a tiny room which even for our short stay was a squeeze. The place was clean enough although the interior is rather dated. The car park only houses about 5 cars, is accessed by an unnamed alley to the rear of the hotel and is not recommended unless you have a pretty small car. Our welcome was a little jaded. All in all just about adequate for small stay but can't really understand the reviews that are higher than this.

Great location with a handy bus stop right outside. Paid over the top for a comfortable single room with shared bathroom ….yes oasis was in town. A box of Lindt chocolates but couldn’t tell if I would be charged or not. Parking was easy for me but not many spaces. The only thing was leaving at 6:30am. I left my keys on the desk as asked and went to my car. I was locked in the parking area. I couldn’t raise anyone by phone or email until 7:08 and then they took another 20mins to open the shutter of the car park. There should be a clear sign or some communication of this for future guests.

Room was good, comfortable, but seemed a lot smaller than the pictures on Hotels website. Radiator stuck to on, even with windows full open it was too hot. Staff pleasant but, two old folks heading for the top floor and no lift, no offer of help with cases.

Rooms are decent if you can get one with an en suite otherwise your sharing a toilet & shower. Very old fashioned property with old decoration & steep narrow steps leading upstairs as there is no lift. Wasn't pleased how I was asked for my debit card & details including my card being photographed including CVV2 number.

Tanes Hotel was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. It had a good supply of refreshments in the room, and the room itself was very comfortable and maintained at a good temperature. The service I received was minimal but polite, helpful and accommodating. Excellent value for money

Issue with another guest parking, blocking all other guests in, asked manager to sort, and all he did was stick a polite note on the car window. I couldn’t get out of the hotel to visit Cardiff and Barry. I had to go to the end of the hall and loudly ask if anyone owned the car. Owner did move it, although they were offensive towards me and my daughter, manager did nothing to intervene. The room we had (Twin, no ensuite) was small, and the room had signs of mould on the wall above the wardrobe/door, and the tops of the surfaces were disgusting (dust/dirt). Only 1 x double socket on the floor, so kettle had to be placed on the carpet to boil. Would not recommend.

The room looked clean, but the shower was blocked and unpleasant things floated out of the plug hole as I showered! I don't think I've ever slept so badly in a hotel unfortunately. There were people wandering about locking and unlocking doors, using the shared toilets and creaking floorboards all night. Someone got up at 5.30 and made huge amounts of noise. This was a mid-week stay, and we chose this hotel for the free parking. I'd caution against banking on this carpark in anything larger than our Rav4, as it was quite tight even for my car. So really the only thing we liked was the decor of the room and the free parking. I would not stay again (sorry). We used the Costa Coffee just along the road for breakfast.

Manager is an absolute clown,rather than politely resolve a situation,he escalated it,by telling me 'I dont know who he is,or what hes done' (Attempting to intimidate me).Check out is Eleven but from 8.50 am had Room service banging the door so hard I thought it might come down.A shame,as woman who checked us in was lovely.Would never return.

The hotel was absolutely lovely, and the staff were wonderful. Tony, in particular, was incredibly kind and very helpful. Check-in was quick and straightforward. We were handed our keys and left to settle in, which my husband and I really appreciated. Our room was great overall. There were a few marks on the wall and ceiling, likely from a previous water leak, but otherwise it was comfortable and well-equipped, with tea and coffee facilities provided which was a nice touch. The only downside was that our toilet stopped flushing after the first use, so we had to use the shared bathroom down the hall. Thankfully, it started working again the following morning. All in all, it’s a lovely hotel in a very convenient location near Cardiff Central. The free, secure parking was another big plus.

Just needed an overnight stop and I chose well. Nice greeting from the proprietor. Very clean well decorated room. Very comfortable single bed. Tea and coffee facility. I had no problem walking the distance into Cardiff centre albeit there is a bus stop outside the hotel.

Location was fantastic 28 minute walk to the Millennium\Principality Stadium, 20 min walk to Queen street center of town. Tony was super friendly on arrival. 6am check out was seamless just leave your key on the desk. The bus stop is literally outside the door which is 8 mins or 3 stops into city center, also a great landmark for walking home. I will definitely stay again if i return to Cardiff.

Good location in Cardiff. Not too far away from the city centre although a taxi is much easier than a long walk. Room was fine with some parking around the back and more on the roads nearby. Would come back again.

Beautiful spotless room, comfortable beds, 20 minutes walk to town, friendly reception, free parking and WiFi. Only real drawback is the quite narrow parking spaces, and we also thought it was quite difficult to find the entrance to the car park at the back of the property. Bathroom is also a little bit narrow.

Had a room which was on the very busy road side. Room was clean,bed comfy. Did get some sleep but really was a very busy road. Good value, plenty of t-bags.

The property is well kept and clean. The room was modern and good albeit quite small en-suite - but it was clean and everything worked as it should. The hotel itself is a 20 mins walk into the centre or their is a bus stop right outside with buses every 10 mins.

Welcoming hotel, in useful location (bus stops just outside with direct route into town, or walk-able). Slept very well in spotlessly clean well-appointed room. Ensuite was similarly pristine. Appreciated the thoughtfulness of choice of drinks (eg sufficient decaff, and there was the option of oatmilk for those who prefer). Would happily stay there again.

Property description not correct. Paid for breakfast included. Not available. No large sitting room in the hotel. Bedding was clean and bed comfortable. But I will be contacting expedia about the incorrect description and over paying for rooms. Not a good experience.

Just needed an overnight stop and I chose well. Nice greeting from the proprietor. Very clean well decorated room. Very comfortable single bed. Tea and coffee facility. I had no problem walking the distance into Cardiff centre albeit there is a bus stop outside the hotel.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. It had tea and coffee making facilities which is always a must for me. The shower was really good. You are greeted on check in but then never see any staff again. During our stay breakfast was not being done which was a bit disappointing. On checking out we realised the hotel had been quite full but there was no noise disturbance. I would say this hotel is a good base for a couple of nights and reasonably priced.

Nice room and location convenient for night out in Carfiff. Public transport available directly outside hotel. Unfortunately no option for breakfast but this was not a major issue as I managed tofind somewhere in Cardiff centre. Overall hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff nember I met was helpul and friendly.

I booked a two night stay on the 8th/9th of August When I arrived the owner who was very rude and disrespectful refused to accept my booking and told me to leave otherwise he would call the police. He can say what he.likes but I've met people like him before and I am not intimidated by his behaviour as I am the innocent party and I had done nothing wrong. It was too.late to find another hotel as they were all booked up. I sat on the pavement outside for hours and had to call 111 3 times and 999 one time because I felt very unwell. Eventually I had to phone for a taxi to get to A&E and spent 5 hours there until I felt well enough to leave This is not the way to treat a 64 year old woman. Shame on you

Parking was road side parkinþg 2 minute walk the room was clean and tidy although the shower plug hole was blocked so the manager tried to sort it but couldn't so allowed us to use shower in next room. Don't know if there are shops near by
