Really a unique place to stay. Very cool vibe. They have a sauna, a yurt where you can watch movies and a restaurant and bar on site. Breakfast voucher towards your meal. They serve fabulous crepes.

This motel was so cute!! So clean and new. It was great to walk out our door and be steps away from a bonfire pit, outdoor tables, the little bistro where you could grab a happy hour drink. Happy Hour until 10Pm!! Wow! Would highly recommend!

The facility is older but remodeled. It is not very sound proof to noises from the outside or from the bar below the rooms. Unfortunately no elevator to access above ground level rooms. It was a bit unusual to have input all of our reservation information into one of the hotel's tablets, including the credit card information after this had been entered into the Expedia reservation portal online when booking the room.

Super cute and cozy! Staff was very friendly, room was nice, there is a bistro/bar on site-- with seating inside and outside--and was lovely for a night cap and breakfast. Had a happy hour even! We were given two $10 vouchers to use for breakfast at the bistro--food was delicious! Fire pits on site, both propane and a wood one, with comfy seating. It's an easy 10 min walk to Rapids brewery, which was super fun--great beer, food, and spacious indoor and outdoor seating area. Had a great mini getaway at Hotel Rapids-- thank you!! Would definitely stay here again!

I did not have high expectations due to the price, but I was totally wrong. The room was spotless, the bed and sheets are possibly the most comfortable I\'ve ever seen, and the shower was fantastic compared to most hotels. There is a yurt on tbe property which seemed pretty "yuppie" to me but it was a super relaxed area with a nice fireplace as well as a TV. There was also a sauna which we did not use, but it looked verg clean and neat as well. Drinks at the bar were delicious and the bartender/worker was incredibly friendly. I would absolutely stay here again if visiting Grand Rapids again.

I booked a night earlier than I showed up and not only did they charge me for the night booked through hotel.com, but they then charged me for a second night at a rate more than I booked online. The service was good, but the condition of the place was terrible. Our room was beaten up and the door would not open or shut without slamming.

Staff were great! The shower head leaked shooting upwards the ceiling and the mattresses were not the most comfortable.The lighting in the rooms could be better very dim. Dog friendly but not the best place to walk the dogs. Food was great! The room was clean

The staff was very, very nice and I had great interactions with all of them. The bistro is very cute and breakfast/coffee was delicious! The hotel was renovated, but my room wasn't cleaned particularly well. Some of the surfaces hadn't been wiped down and the carpeting had a lot of staining and it's probably time to replace it with something darker. Overall, the staff made it a really pleasant stay and it worked well for the one night I needed.

Booked for weekend trip. Cute remodeled motel. Check-in was easy, but they do not take American Express. Had to separate reservations that they were able to combine. Room was good, however, reservation said queen size beds and they were full. Talked with front desk and was told this is the size of beds in all rooms, except the one that has a king. Bathroom was small, but worked. Carpeting in our room needed to be pulled. The Bistro/Bar is cute and service was great, just wished they were open a little earlier for breakfast. Sauna was a touch. Overall cute idea

Older roadside motel that was converted and updated to a nicer facility. Although the price was steep ($260) for just an overnight lodging, and the bathroom was very small, the shower was hot and strong with a seat. The room was spacious for a double, the beds were very comfortable, and the cosmetic features have all been updated, but it’s still old.

Lighting was very poor and no lighting in shower. Hole or soft spot in floor by desk. Blow dryer tripping circuit in bathroom so had to use it in bed area so no mirror.Parking limited and not ideal.

Hotel Rapids was a wonderful hotel to stay in! The staff was all super friendly and when we had to switch rooms because of a security issue they offered to help us out with moving our stuff to the new room. I love that they were so approachable about things and made sure the stay was as comfortable as it could be. The only complaints we really had were that we wished the showerheads were adjustable and that the mattress in our room probably needs be replaced as we sank into the middle area of the mattress and the outside edges were still nice and firm.

The room was nice enough but the bathroom had issues. The sink was so narrow that when you used it, water went on the floor. The shower head was stationary and designed for a bathtub shower. It was a shower stall, so the water hit the wall too high to rinse off properly. It needs to be replaced with a shower head on a ball swivel.

I booked with AMEX. I got to property and they didnt accept it. The walls are paper thin. At check in they handed me an ipad to fill out my info. Never asked to see card or ID. as im filling out my info other peoples info was popping up. Very unsafe. I have never in probably a thousand stays encountered not showing ID or presenting the credit card. Staff was friendly. But the security of someone elses personal info is not good

Absolutely loved this little boutique hotel! The room was clean and newly updated with really cool fixtures for small spaces! The staff (Eva et al) were so amazing! They made the best crepes and specialty coffees. The information binder in the room was made by the Grand Rapids High School woodworking department---nice touch!! I HIGHLY recommend staying here while in Grand Rapids!

I arrived at the hotel a little after midnight and no one was there working, but they did leave a note to call a number for after hours arrivals. I called the number repeatedly, which no one answered, and left a message and never received a call back. I ended up driving down the street and staying at the Best Western.

I come to Grand Rapids every week for work and this is the only place I’ll stay! It has become my home away from home. They have the best food in town, an excellent wine selection, and wonderful crafted cocktails. The staff is also top notch. They get to know their regulars and truly care about their guests.

The hotel is very nice for its age. However I waited 25 minutes to check in as the receptionist was taking phone calls and booking rooms right infront of me. Paying me zero attention. When she finely addressed me she was very abrupt. Once she found that I booked on Hotels.com I was placed in room 27 at the back end of the hotel next to the kitchen exhaust hoods, sinking floor, carpet that was been water logged and a bit noisy until the kitchen closed at 10pm. I wouldn’t complain if the hotel was full but it wasn’t. I was purposefully placed in their worst room for sure, asked to fill out a personal bio, and told no parties. I’m 65 years old with no more time on my hands for large hotel parties :)

They’ve done a really nice job with this property. It has a few limitations inherent in what they started with. The walls are a bit thin and it’s in a very busy street. But it’s otherwise quite nice and we would stay there again.

This property seems either new or updated. We were on the lower level, with access to the parking lot and our car right from our room (Motel style). It is very close to an intersection, so easy to find, however it does have traffic noise,(ear plugs are provided on the night stand next to the bed). There are blackout blinds on the windows. Room seemed small. Walls seem a little thin as could hear the neighbors. It did have a nice area with counter and lighted cabinets. Microwave and coffee maker were found in the cabinet. Nice corner work area. Shower included shampoo, conditioner and body wash in pumps on the wall. The Bistro, which is where you check in, offers salads, crepes and yogurt for breakfast. We did get a $10 breakfast voucher for each of us each day of our stay. Our opinon, a little too modern for our taste. Did like the breakfast vouchers and ease of location, easy in easy out, (at least in the of season)

Hotel Rapids is a very nice boutique hotel. The staff is very friendly. They have a great little bar and dining menu. The only thing you might want to consider is it is a remodeled old hotel. Everything is nicely done, rooms are smaller and quaint. Only set back are they close together and sound can travel.

Nice renovation but a lot of lip stick. Loud environment. Music could be heard through the floor in the morning. Heavy traffic outside made for a long night. They offered ear plugs but they don’t work for me. Late November and my window was unlocked also adding to outside noise. Didn’t care for the breakfast menu so went elsewhere.
