A nice traditional seaside hotel on the outskirts of Whitby. Close to the seafront within walking distance of the town centre. Lovely friendly staff. Great breakfast included. Private off road parking 20 metres away.

Extremely clean and comfortable hotel. Superb parking arrangement, we have a blue badge though there was a car park opposite. Quite a few stairs in the hotel but staff helped with bags. We have stayed in Whitby a few times now and this was the best overall experience we have had. The staff were fantastic (not OTT but so genuine and helpful). Breakfast was amazing and all portions were generous. There was a lovely choice for dinner too, everything was beautifully presented, cooked and served. Location was great for us, out of the centre but close to the beach and Pavilion for our event. We will certainly be returning. Thank you.

A lovely little family run hotel. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, from arrival to check out, nothing was too much trouble. We thought this was the cleanest hotel we have stayed in. Parking was easy and convenient - we just left the car there as it was easy enough to walk down to the harbour. The restaurant was amazing and fantastic value for money, everything freshly cooked and prepared, so it was no trouble to ask for a dish to be customised to taste. We would highly recommend this hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at the Saxonville. It’s a bit of a throwback in time to when things were done properly. Silver service, wedgewood and silverware all around, not to mention full waitress service. Spotless rooms and great staff add to the charm and character. Also, less than ten minutes walk to Whitby’s famous whale bones. The only downside was the lounge furniture which could do with an update as first impressions do actually count. Overall, well done everyone.

The room was nicely appointed and spotless. Good sized bathroom. Breakfast was very good on day two with items overcooked on day one. The parking is across the road which wasn't a problem but it would make it easier for guests if it were made known before they arrive. The wi-fi is slow on the second floor.

A very clean and comfortable hotel, very warm and friendly welcome at reception, walking distance to the heart of Whitby being only a couple of streets back from whalebones on west cliff. Rooms have all you need and are spotless with comfortable beds and wi-fi. Free off street dedicated car park for hotel. Option for dinner at hotel, bar for drinks with lounge. I noticed the hotel had received a tourism award for its breakfast to start your day well. It was also one of the few places not requiring a 2 night minimum stay which is what we needed as only in town for one night. Quiet location for good rest but close to all Whitby has to offer, I would recommend and would stay here again without question.

Was a good experience. Lovely clean room with plenty of space. Teas, coffees hot chocolate drinks, biscuits and bottled water provided in room. TV but not many channels available. However, we spent a very pleasant evening in the bar, chatting to other guests. Dining room was very nice, with table service. All the staff were very friendly and professional.

HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. WE ONLY HAD BREAKFAST AND THIS WAS INDIVIDUALLY COOKED FROM A MENU WITH WAITRESS SERVICE. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD QUALITY.

Great find spotlessly clean good location. About 15 min walk to centre and £5, taxi back. Breakfast was lovely and all waitress service. Very polite staff. We were on the top floor, room was fine. Nice touches were robes and slippers and a rarity, a decent shaving/make up mirror so easy to apply make up. So clean too. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great place to stay. Unfortunately was a fly in my kettle when i arrived 1st day. There wasnt decent soap to wash hands with near bathroom sink so used shower gel and bath was far too small for a 6ft tall man. All these were only small annoyances though and i wasnt put off to visit again. Great place, friendly staff and conveniently located. 5 out of 6 stars.

Had a lovely night's stay. Family ran business, very clean and super well organised. Location great. Only down side was very poor shower pressure something they could sort these days. Breakfast was excellent and the service. ❤️

Quite an old fashioned family hotel in Whitby. Welcome, check-in and service throughout were superb. Obviously significant money has been spent on refurbishment. Room was excellent, well equipped and comfortable. Only downside was the refurbished bathroom, which, although not small had limited shelf space for toilet bags etc., water pressure in shower was so low that it was barely useable although pressure in bath underneath was fine. Sadly the bath itself was "of the smaller variety" reminiscent of student halls of residence! Dinner and breakfast were both very good with lovely staff.

Pleasant hotel with old-school charm. Clean and modern room with a sea view. Staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast quality was adequate, but the service was excellent. Shower pressure could be improved, might just have been our room affected.

room smelt funny. bed not the best and pillows tired and poor. room noisy, could hear water being drawn through pipes to other rooms. could here the grandfather clock chime through the night that was in the lobby. could hear them crashing bottles and glassed about at midnight when after bar had closed. minimal tv oprions. not full freeview. but was good shower and good parking facilities

Saxonville is a very nice, traditional hotel with services to match. Staff were very polite and helpful, amenities were very good and breakfast as a person with coeliac was great. Would certain consider this hotel when we next visit Whitby.

Extremely clean and comfortable hotel. Superb parking arrangement, we have a blue badge though there was a car park opposite. Quite a few stairs in the hotel but staff helped with bags. We have stayed in Whitby a few times now and this was the best overall experience we have had. The staff were fantastic (not OTT but so genuine and helpful). Breakfast was amazing and all portions were generous. There was a lovely choice for dinner too, everything was beautifully presented, cooked and served. Location was great for us, out of the centre but close to the beach and Pavilion for our event. We will certainly be returning. Thank you.

A lovely little family run hotel. The staff couldn't have been friendlier, from arrival to check out, nothing was too much trouble. We thought this was the cleanest hotel we have stayed in. Parking was easy and convenient - we just left the car there as it was easy enough to walk down to the harbour. The restaurant was amazing and fantastic value for money, everything freshly cooked and prepared, so it was no trouble to ask for a dish to be customised to taste. We would highly recommend this hotel

Great find spotlessly clean good location. About 15 min walk to centre and £5, taxi back. Breakfast was lovely and all waitress service. Very polite staff. We were on the top floor, room was fine. Nice touches were robes and slippers and a rarity, a decent shaving/make up mirror so easy to apply make up. So clean too. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rooms have all you need and are spotless with comfortable beds and wi-fi. Free off street dedicated car park for hotel. Option for dinner at hotel, bar for drinks with lounge. I noticed the hotel had received a tourism award for its breakfast to start your day well. It was also one of the few places not requiring a 2 night minimum stay which is what we needed as only in town for one night. Quiet location for good rest but close to all Whitby has to offer, I would recommend and would stay here again without question.

Travelled to Whitby for a 2 night stay. Location of hotel was great as easy walking distance into to town centre and attractions. The service provided was excellent. Breakfast was brilliant (table service), and a good range of options. Water and refreshments were provided in our room on arrival and also alternative options for food allergy.

The room was nicely appointed and spotless. Good sized bathroom. Breakfast was very good on day two with items overcooked on day one. The parking is across the road which wasn't a problem but it would make it easier for guests if it were made known before they arrive. The wi-fi is slow on the second floor.

Just a relaxing weekend stay, lovely hotel, booked a single room, but would have liked 2 or larger bath towels, also missed a fridge and iron/ing board. That's where the grumble ends. Lovely hotel, lovely room, lovely staff. Breakfast is something else, full waitress service. Didn't book any other meals, but would recommend if time pressured. Could not fault service or room quality and cleanliness. Thanks team, lovely stay.

Getting to our room (24) was a challenge ... lots of stairs and doors. Water flow in the shower was down to trickle...( no water pressure). Dinner was ok , but on the pricy side in terms of portion size to cost ratio.

I am not a holiday person, due to the cleanliness of standard holiday hotels, but was very pleasantly surprised by the exceptionally high standards in the Saxonville Hotel. Helpfulness of the staff was second to none, and our silver service waitress was very professional and friendly. Smiles go along way in our household, and your staff and management did this with ease. The food was piping hot when needed to be, nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay again. Be aware there is parking there, but it is on a first come first serve basis. Generally Whitby has very few charge stations available, which leads to a more stressful holiday for electric vehicle owners.

Hotel perfectly situated with access to Whitby. Private parking was available. There s no lift in the hotel - which might pose a problem for some! Breakfast was excellent and staff very friendly.
