The reception staff was excellent. In premises car parking was available for an additional charge of extra $15. The room was clean however 0100 when i went to toilet there were two large cockroaches running around.

My family and I stayed at Mantra Wollongong for 1 night as part of a family road trip. When we arrived at the front of the hotel by car, there was nowhere to stop the car so I had to park a block away and walk to the entrance. The receptionist was very quick to check us in and charge my card. After all the paperwork was signed (and my card charged for the full price), she said “Oh, by the way, I’m sorry but the only elevator in the building is broken, so you’re going to have to use the stairs.” Our room was on the 6th floor. I asked her, “You mean we have to bring our luggage up 6 floors by stairs?” To which she replied “Yes, we’re fully booked, I’m sorry but there’s nothing we can do.” There was no offer of any compensation, not even a 10% discount or bottled water. Still, my sister and I, both in our late 30s, lugged 2 x 20kg suitcases and 2 small ones up 6 floors via dusty and stuffy fire stairs. When we finally reached the room, NONE of the 4 key cards worked. NONE. So I had to go all the way back down again to get replacement key cards, and walk up the 6 floors again. All this on a 36 degrees day. On top of all this, the 2 bedroom apartment was advertised as air-conditioned, but there was only 1 aircon unit in the living room. The 2 bedrooms had no aircon. The ‘eco-friendly’ body wash and shampoo pump bottles provided were half-full and extremely diluted from spending months under the shower spray, and just didn’t feel sanitary at all. All this for $400/night.

I walked into my room, found some type of disgusting stains all over the lounge and cushions. The property smells, is old and dirty. There is one lift that takes forever to get up and down. The room itself is awful. Bare and old with very little in it - just large open void. I left the property immediately upon walking into my room and changed to another hotel. A definite hotel to avoid. Looks nothing like the photos online.

The pet friendly unit was absolutely great! All rooms/bathroom/balcony very spacious with separate lounge area. A nice view out to the distant mountains and not too loud from traffic and quiet. Loved the fully equipped kitchen and also bathroom had a washing machine/dryer with plenty of room on the balcony to dry items on a rack provided also. Can walk into the Centre of Wollongong to all of the main shops. Everything very nearby, perfect for us as we were meeting up with family in the area. A very acceptable price also that we were very happy with. Only issue is you do need to walk your doggie down a few levels in the lift and there is not too much grassy areas for them to relieve themselves so you need to walk along some side streets. Parking is limited and you need to pay $15 per night undercover on property and there is a $80 dog fee per stay that I did not realise at the time until I got there. All in all very happy with our 5 night stay there.

Far from a 4-star hotel. Everything is old and in very poor condition. The carpet smells like sweaty feet, the microwave is yellowed and doesn’t even work, and the fridge is damaged. They even have on-site parking and still dare to charge us per night.

The Mantra is convenient to everything and check in was easy. Unfortunately the unit was very rundown. The lounge was very stained and the furnishings and carpet very worn. The carpark is quite tight to exit if you have a large vehicle. I also was placed in an accessible apartment which was fine however if I’d been in a wheelchair there is absolutely no way i could have accessed the bedroom as the lounge was only about 50cm from the door. There was also a strong smell of cigarettes in the apartment and no tea towels.
The Mantra is convenient to everything and check in was easy. Unfortunately the unit was very rundown. The lounge was very stained and the furnishings and carpet very worn. The carpark is quite tight to exit if you have a large vehicle. The 2 bedroom we had for the night was comfortable and well maintained. Although we could see marks and scratches on the furniture, the unit was clean and the carpet seemed new. Best of all, it is a pet friendly hotel which is rare in Australia, sadly. Our baby Shiba loved her stay. Thank you for being so accommodating to families with pets. We will be back.

Overall a pleasant stay and very quiet. The superior apartment was a very good size, but the single shower was small. No bath. Only given limited towels. Kitchenette was excellent. Staff were good. The one small lift was terribly slow - really slow.

Beds were comfy. Good room amenities, parking & location. But the room smelled extremely bad. We had to sit outside. Asked for a room change but they were fully booked. I had to request an air-freshener & they have me a spray bottle which said it was floor cleaner. Unimpressed & won't be back.

Very outdated and dirty. There was fake eyelash stuck to the bin from the people before me. Bed was too singles pushed together and the mattress was bright yellow. Very unclean. The elevator takes a very long time. The size of the room was the only positive about the property but unfortunately due to the cleanliness we won’t be back.

Apart from a good sized apartment, this property is a detriment to Accor hotels: a brand and loyalty killer. Cleanliness is awful and you get the dirty feel from the moment you arrive, park your car & walk the hallway. The expectation is already set and upon entering the room, that expectation becomes reality - paint peeling on window ledges, mould on window ledges, mouldy shower tiles, soap scum on shower tiles, cobwebs galore, heavily stained furniture, moisture damaged vanity laminate, stained carpets, stained walls. Hold every glass up to the light and you’ll see nothing clean and possibly the previous guests lipstick stains (like we did). I’d be embarrassed if I were the Hotel Manager and this was the product I was selling. Stay elsewhere in Wollongong, won’t be hard to find better.

My stay at the mantra was disappointing and disgusting say least, the room was extremely dirty. There was blood stains and other stains of God knows what on the doona. There was dirt and debris around the unit. The floors in the bathroom were sticky and there were cobwebs on the windows. We had nothing but troubles with the entrance gate into the parking lot often it would not work and if it didn’t, we’d have to wait many minutes or walk up to request the front desk open it. The bed was unbearably uncomfortable and due to these factors we cut our stay short and drove home 3 1/2 hours at 11pm because we could bare spending another night there. whilst the staff were lovely, this does not equate for the distressing negative we incurred.

This is really more a 2-3 stars property. In general the property is run down and looked tired and worn out. It was previously an apartment block that was bought and converted into a ‘hotel’. There’s wall patches that wasn’t properly done and paint coming off the joinery. We noticed a spider in the toilet and the vents sound like a machine. The rooms are not air-conditioned which isn’t up to par given the price and 4 star rating on Google. I think it here needs to be a lot of adjustments (lower) to reflect the true quality/value/type of the accommodation.

No air con or fan in bedroom. Rubbish left on common hallway tables for our 2 day stay. Room not serviced even though sign out. Drips down front of dishwasher and stove and coffee/tea leaves not cleaned from behind the caddie from last guests.

I booked apartment with full kitchen, very limited utensils, only one pot which was gravey size, two non stick frypans in bad condition, damaged Teflon so not safe to use, no serving bowls or spones, Rangehood broken, TV didn't work and tolit seat broken.

There is a terrible stench as you get out of the lift on level 3 which gets worse as you enter the room. It smells very much like wet carpet. Or perhaps it’s very old and disgusting carpet. The room is simply awful. Bland and empty - makes me think it’s what a jail cell would look like. Cheap rug, cheap dirty table. Nothing nice about it at all. Perhaps a nice standing lamp in the empty space could help slightly. Was kept awake at night by the train noise. Would unfortunately never come back.

My family and I stayed at Mantra Wollongong for 1 night as part of a family road trip. When we arrived at the front of the hotel by car, there was nowhere to stop the car so I had to park a block away and walk to the entrance. The receptionist was very quick to check us in and charge my card. After all the paperwork was signed (and my card charged for the full price), she said “Oh, by the way, I’m sorry but the only elevator in the building is broken, so you’re going to have to use the stairs.” Our room was on the 6th floor. I asked her, “You mean we have to bring our luggage up 6 floors by stairs?” To which she replied “Yes, we’re fully booked, I’m sorry but there’s nothing we can do.” There was no offer of any compensation, not even a 10% discount or bottled water. Still, my sister and I, both in our late 30s, lugged 2 x 20kg suitcases and 2 small ones up 6 floors via dusty and stuffy fire stairs. When we finally reached the room, NONE of the 4 key cards worked. NONE. So I had to go all the way back down again to get replacement key cards, and walk up the 6 floors again. All this on a 36 degrees day. On top of all this, the 2 bedroom apartment was advertised as air-conditioned, but there was only 1 aircon unit in the living room. The 2 bedrooms had no aircon. The ‘eco-friendly’ body wash and shampoo pump bottles provided were half-full and extremely diluted from spending months under the shower spray, and just didn’t feel sanitary at all. All this for $400/night.

Hotel was ok , lift was very slow! Our room was not ready at 1pm , could not check in , the tv in main room was rubbish could only watch channel 10 and ABC have stayed in many Mantra Hotels , with much better TV options, it is 2025, sure they can do better!!

The last few week, slowly been making my way down the Coast from Qld to lower Vic By far, the best value hotel I have stayed at on this trip! Great room sizes, comfy beds, amazing shower water pressure, full kitchen and so clean with freezing cold air con Reception staff, two younger ladies - both where exceptional in there service and heard someone else compliment them as well Parking - onsite, safe and secure! Definitely will be booking there again in the future

We were a family of 4 and had a one night stay at the Mantra. It ticked all the boxes. It is on a main road so the surrounds are particularly picturesque but it was quiet and had plenty of street parking. We'd definitely go back as it was good value relative to other accommodation options in the Gong

This property is very disappointing. Has not been maintained or cleaned. Ripped curtains throughout old furniture with scratches dirty bathroom. No breakfast facilities. Charging top dollar. Not up the Accor standard. Makes me think twice about booking any of their other hotels.

I booked apartment with full kitchen, very limited utensils, only one pot which was gravey size, two non stick frypans in bad condition, damaged Teflon so not safe to use, no serving bowls or spones, Rangehood broken, TV didn't work and tolit seat broken.

Overall a pleasant stay and very quiet. The superior apartment was a very good size, but the single shower was small. No bath. Only given limited towels. Kitchenette was excellent. Staff were good. The one small lift was terribly slow - really slow.
