What hotel doesn't provide parking and not advertise the fact tu guests before hand! Sage Hotel Wollongong and to make things worse, the receptionist tried to justify why. Not good enough, will make me think twic e about staying in future

Really good location, right next to Win Stadium and entertainment centre and just a few minutes walk to the beach. Room was very comfortable and clean. Pool needs repairs though, lots of tiles missing and the lights inside the pool don’t work, it makes it very hard to have a swim when is dark. Restaurant in premises is not very good, very slow service, need to employ more people, food is expensive and not very good either.

All the staff we interacted with were super friendly and really made us felt welcome! The room was good, we bought an upgrade to a balcony room with a sea view, which was lovely. We used the pool which was heated and good for laps, The cabana loungers were good too, a nice touch you don't often see. We managed to park in the car park opposite, which is free on the weekends if there are no games / events going on at the stadium. All in all a lovely experience and we would definitely come back to the hotel if we needed to stay in Wollongong.

Parking is tight if you have a large car and it can be a bit of a fight to find a spot, if you get a spot, try not to move until you leave. The access into the building from garage near the caged storage is good from upper lvl you come into hotel on lvl 2 near the lifts which is good for mobility challended people. Note the disabled parking is on the otherside of the lvl, nearby access unknown. Mobility room - Spacious room, large bathroom had a bath, grab rails around loo and general wall area not the bath. Shower drained to middle of the room rather than the shower drain, though i did not find the wet tiles slippery, it did have a folding shower seat. The rooms were reasonably clean, broken glass from some previous occupant on the balcony possible been there for some time as it was around the edges so if your walking in bare feet be careful and check first hopefully this was a one off but did make me wonder how often the rooms are cleaned properly rather than just refreshed for next guest. It was nice to have a balcony for access to fresh air the balcony furniture is two seats attached to a table, metal. It can't be easily moved and would limit access if you had a wheelchair or walker. Bed was very compfortable, though some extra pillow to be able to relax sitting would be nice. General noise was quite loud until about 1am mostly from drunk guests playing silly buggers in the hall not hotels fault just depends on the guests and what night/s your staying.

As you can see by the photos. We had mould in the bathroom, ceiling paint peeling with mould. Alive and dead bugs in the room. Marks on the wall wasn’t very looked after

The Sage hotel is in a great location and the onsite parking is convenient. The checkin and checkout service was friendly and courteous. The cleanliness of our room however was disappointing. There were hairs and streak/wipe marks in the bathroom. The back of the bathroom door needed cleaning. I moved the bed to plug in the lamp and discovered another persons phone charger in the wall. The TV remote had a build up of dirt on the buttons.

Suuuuuuuper disappointed in our stay at Sage Hotel Wollongong. For $300 per night, adding $20 extra for parking with no guaranteed parking space seems absolutely ridiculous, then treating every guest like they are irresponsible by charging $100 deposit. Linen smelt like cigarette smoke, went to reception to get new towels and let the receptionist know the reason we were asking for more, no apology or compensation, just “oh I’ll grab you some new ones”…. Like the cigarette smoke wasn’t a problem??? Mould EVERYWHERE in the bathroom. Shower, sink, tiles, around toilet, it’s like the bathroom had never been cleaned. We also had a lovely smear of blood on our bathroom door. Mattresses had no mattress protectors. The list goes on. As a previous hotel manager myself I get it, Sage is right across from the stadium and the entertainment centre, you can charge whatever you want because you will never be out of business, but a little human decency goes a long way, and this hotel should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off purely based on the fact they can change high prices for location.

These rooms were lovely. Having both a bath and a separate shower was really nice. Spacious room and a good view. Would be excellent if you were in town to see a game. Walking distance to dining and shopping. When I stayed (May 2025) there was plenty of underground parking available which was secure. All staff I spoke with were really lovely. The public areas of the motel were also well kept. Some night noise with loud vehicles (I stayed Fri and Sat night). Otherwise a fabulous stay!

The room was a good size and comfortable. The staff were both friendly and helpful. The WIFI was quite fast, much better tham most hotels. the biggest negative was the shortage of PowerPoints. given that we both had phones and tablets to charge and electric toothbrushes, this was particularly irksome. I would recommend staying here but pack a couple of power boards for your convenience.

Staff were excellent upon check in. Very friendly and helpful. There was some confusion which I stopped chasing which was, when we booked as a silver member of Hotels.com we were meant to get free continental breakfast and I asked if I could upgrade it to the full breakfast. I was told that there was NO breakfast of any kind attached to our stay. I was tired and couldn't be bothers arguing but upon checking breakfast meant to be included. The room was spacious and reasonably comfortable however noise from other rooms was slightly annoying.

Location of hotel was excellent, hotel was nice but can't be said of staff. Disappointed as soon as checking in. When asked for crockery which was not in the room, staff asked to "come down and get it yourself". Had to express disappointment before crockery delivered. I stayed at the Sage Hotel in Wollongong for two nights and had one of the best check-in experiences I’ve ever had. Thomas at the front desk was incredibly helpful and even offered me an upgrade from my Executive Balcony Room to a Family Suite. While the gesture was appreciated, the extra living space in the suite felt a little tired and narrow, so I didn’t really make use of it. The room itself was pleasant but definitely showing its age — marks on the walls and skirting boards, bathroom stains, and some dirt in the corners. It could use a fresh coat of paint to match the photos on the website, which looked more polished than reality. I dont drink coffee, but the in room coffee machine had also seen better days. That said, the room was still clean overall. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to the beach, coastal paths, restaurants, and shops. Parking was secure and hassle-free. The continental breakfast had a great variety (the banana bread was delicious!), and I loved the free ground-floor water station with both still and sparkling options for refilling bottles. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I’d be happy to return in the future. I’ve only marked it down slightly due to the condition of the room and bathroom.

I was travelling for work and under a lot of pressure and was in an overwhelmed state. Rosemary on reception noticed and was absolutely outstanding, supportive and genuinely cared about making sure I had everything I needed for my event that evening. She was on reception again when I left and I thanked her. This kind of caring service can not be taught you either have it or you don’t. Rosemary went above and beyond her job in support of my stress levels. I could not be more grateful and will always return to the Sage hoping I can repay her kindness. Thank you Rosemary you are an outstanding human with a heart of gold.

This is a very lovely hotel close to the beach, WIN stadium and Wollongong entertainment centre so if you are attending anything at those pleaces then staying here will top off the experience . We were syaying here for the darts and were pleasantly surprised to see alot of the players also stay here.

Good size room with King bed made up of 2 single beds. Upgraded room with balcony and arena and beach views. Room service delicious both dinner and breakfast. Under cover car parking. Only negative was noisy neighbours running up and down the corridor at 2.30am 🙄. I would stay here again for the food alone 😉
