Apple Tree Inn

The bathroom is very small but clean with newer showerhead. Water pressure was great and good room for shampoo and such. The parking area is cramped and small but its limited by location and there is street parking. Its older but clean. A bit noisy but that was over by 9pm.

The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The service was excellent!! We discovered our microwave was not working and within 10 minutes of us finding this out, they had sent someone in to test it, then replace it! Even though the service was great, there were a few.issues, but nothing that would stop us from staying again. There was no sugar available at their coffee bar, the pool was cloudy, and the hot tub temp was.lower than it should have been. Even though there was quite a bit of maintenance that appeared to be needed, you could tell they were working on it. One piece of advice is to make sure to bring your own toiletries.... because there weren't any in the room.

This was my second stay in this hotel and i reserved the same room with the jacuzzi tub. We enjoyed this room so much we decided to stay there again. The star of the place however is the pool which has a beautiful waterfall cascading down some rocks into the pool. Also there is two more jacuzzi tubs in the pool area. Oh...and the price is very reasonable. We will stay again!!

Really enjoyed my stay. Wish yhe pool was cold and hot tub hot but otherwise a great stay.

Pool and hot tub was closed. Lights burnt out in room. No hot water. Bed was uncomfortable. No trash bags in trash cans. Jetted tub had cold water and had pubic hair in it. Toilet didnt want to flush. Television would not work.

Property is centrally located with a working pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good. Room was comfortable and clean with daily maid service.

The light in the bathroom ceiling was falling through. There was hair in the shower when we arrived and hair in the bedding. We found a wallet in the room showing it obviously hadn’t been cleaned well then there was chocolate (hopefully) melted into the nightstand drawer and boogers on the wall. My husband was taking stuff to the car and had walked back through the door to the room in time to hear housekeeping hold up the bedding and ask if it was dirty enough to need changed. The pool was green but hot tubs were clear and there was a box for a pool and spa heater that they obviously just installed because the bonus was the hot tub was hot and the pool was heated.

The pool area was lovely! Good restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was good.

Parking lot wasn’t big enough. It is a very old hotel that they have tried to keep nice. A bit outdated but clean and inexpensive. It was also very close to the convention center!

PLACE NEEDS A DEEP CLEANING AND UPDATE! STAYED THERE BEFORE BUT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE CONDITION, DIRTY, DRIPPING FAUCETS. PLACE HAS REALLY GONE DOWN HILL!!!!! WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO IN AND LOOK AT IT!!!! WAS THERE WITH 10 FAMILY MEMBERS AND WAS SO EMBARRASSED ABOUT THIS PLACE!!!

The room was very dirty including the bed cover which was suppose to be white. The toilet seat was not secure to the commode.

I was given the wrong room at first and when I went back up to the office the lady was real nice and made sure it was corrected.. My only complaint is that the shower in my room was nasty and wasn't cleaned before it was given to me.

We loved the clean room.

It is outdated, which is no problem.. but it was not clean. The toilet had pubic hairs on it. There was hairs on the shower wall from someone else's shavings. No bar soap was provided in the room so I had to walk to the front desk to get some. There was a coffee pot, but no cups. No ice cannister. The lamps were very dusty. The beds and pool area was nice.

When we arrived it took at least 30mins to be seen by someone to get our room. Then walking to the room all you could smell was meth, it was terrible, the room was still dirty when we got there, their was Beer bottles under all of things, their was bugs in the Drawers of the Dresser and the fridge.

This was where we went for our honeymoon we went back for our 17th anniversary. There was a dirty wash cloth in the shower. The staff only came into the room and took the wash cloth. After showering the towel we used to dry the floor turned black. There was a brown stain on the top cover of the bed. One of the pill cases had what looked like blood on it. I removed the pillow case and the pillow had what looked like a bodily fluid stain on it. The sheets had what looked like oil stains on them. The hot tub in the room was the best part and even it doesn’t hold water for very long.

The property was nice. Conveniently located and within walking distance of several amenities. The room could have been cleaner as there were hairs all over the bathroom and it didnt seem like anything had been wiped down in a while but over all very please with the room for the price. Would likely stay again

Great rooms.

The ice machine was broken; the toilet was stopped up; the remote on the television didn't work; the room would not get to a comfortable temperature (too warm) and they charge a $30 pet fee that wasn't advertised. The Wi-Fi was fine.

Pretty old. Ok if in a pinch, but not recommended.

Staff was mildly friendly. The lobby, hallway and room were all extremely clean! It was a very quiet and restful stay. Would stay again, but only in a different room, as the door frame lock area was severely damaged.

TV’s did not work correctly and when I tried to initially turn it on the cable was missing from the back of the television, and I had to ask the front desk to bring me a cable for the TV. When she came to the door, she told me how to hook it up and I had to put it on instead of somebody coming up and doing it for us. I obviously knew how to do it without being told, but I shouldn’t have needed to the showerhead was tied up with deflated balloons, and a ice bag to hold the hose in place the top of the toilet didn’t match the toilet that was in the bathroom. No wash cloths until I asked for some and only two towels for three people in one room I had to ask for more towels. Room was not very clean, and also the flush on the toilet was broke. Stated for two nights and our trash was never emptied or room cleaned. Overall, the hotel has fallen majorly and this is a place I’ve been staying in for over 30 years. It’s disappointing how far this place has fallen. I won’t stay there again.

Say was ok. Toilet didn't work correctly. Had to take lid off and remove chain from drain flapper each time i used it. Pillow where hard.

Everything was fine at check-in. The executive room was adequate and comfortable for the night. However, when we got up the next morning, there was no hot water for showers. We did not have time to switch rooms and still make it to church on time or we would have done so. At checkout the front desk clerk said that there was another area next to the room we stayed in that had not had hot water for a day or two and that she had told the maintenance personnel about it. Apparently it was not high priority to ensure hot water was available to all areas of the property as it should be.

We were initially given an occupied room by mistake. The pool and hot tub were in poor condition, the shower had poor water pressure, there was no tv guide. Even though we had a few setbacks, the staff was friendly, the lobby was nice, and the beds were very comfortable.

The property was clean, nice pool area. Only complaint is the beds and tv were a little small.

Wife and Daughter stayed there many, many times over the years while I was away on business. My Wife is White, and my Daughter is mixed race but White appearing, over the years the lady who manages the place developed a rather friendly relationship with those two and never had an issue with them adjusting or extending their reservations. Last week we made a reservation for one night and realized later on that same day that we weren't going to be able to get to the motel on time. My wife called and asked could the reservation be moved to the following day, manager had no problem with this request and said that she would do so. The next day when we showed up the gentleman behind the counter knew about the change and was preparing our room key when the hotel manger came out front and laid eyes on me for the first time....The look on her face was (unfortunately) quite familiar to me...Suddenly she blurted out that the adjustment could not be made and that we had to pay again for a room we already paid for...My wife was nearly in tears...We did pay again for a room...But not there...My wife and Daughter spent almost every weekend there for nearly a year when I was contracting because they liked the pool...Manager threw away their business because of me...How do people with this attitude get into customer facing positions like this? I intend to mention this to whomever in corporate handles this type of thing...Ridiculous!

Great- except for the missing front desk person at certain hours and the surprise $50 security fee

The check in process was slow and all manual. We had reservations and had already provided our credit card number, phone number, etc. but had to do it again on paper. The air conditioner wasn't working in the lobby and the door to the swimming pool was open so it was very uncomfortable in the lobby. The bathtub faucet leaked continuously. No functional problem, just ugly.

First, we couldn't get our keys to work....2 sets not working. Second, we had to move rooms because the ac and TV didn't work. The safety bar in the shower was missing and the room was dirty. The night staff (after 10) was AMAZING in making the sure the new room was up to par. Then when we booked a second night, we were supposed to change rooms but that room was dirty too, so we stayed where we were. The young girl at the front desk was extremely rude, charged us (unauthorized mind you) for another person who DID NOT STAY but she assumed she did, so charged our card without our knowledge. She did this even though she was told by other staff that our guest left. Throughout our stay we had to leave our door open most of the time because every key (5 total) this young girl gave us stopped working within a couple hours. When we were told we could have late check out (with no charge) this young girl, again charged our card without our knowledge. The hot tubs didn't work, again; been that way 2 months. When we asked about turning them on we were told, by this young girl, that the maintenance man was the one to do it and he wasnt there. All she did was shrug her shoulder and say no when we asked about whether she could call him. Breakfast was limited because they didn't have the supplies needed, but again, night staff did their best to accommodate. We are waiting to discuss these issues with the owner. We've been staying here 5 yrs...never had any trouble until the last 2 months

My stay at the Inn was terrific! The staff there are very kind and helpful plus the bed was so comfortable that it was hard to get up in the morning.

Great little hometown run hotel! It's not a resort, but nicely kept, good responcive service, good hot breakfast and wonderful location - 2 blocks from downtown. Well worth the cost and I'll be sure to rebook and stay here again on future overnights to Independence!!!

I stayed for most of a week while working. It was safe, easy access, Scooters around the corner, fast food a block or two in two directions but it was in the town itself so the atmosphere was not commercial. The pool at hot tubs were nice. Lots of room in the room, fridge, microwave, desk, recliner, TV. What else could a person want? Friendly staff. I brought my own food and drink so I can’t say one way or the other on breakfast. But, it’s a great place to base out of if working in the area.

I like staying there because it’s convenient to walk to restaurants. Also how the room is quiet from not hearing noise from other rooms.

The hot tub was great but the pool was super cold. The front desk attendant was sleeping on the couch and had to be woke up by guests to start breakfast. The housekeeping staff was super friendly. The beds were more on the firm side than I prefer but to each their own. Also the bathtubs in the room cannot be used because there is no stopper.

One of the hot tubs was not working, it was heated but wouldn't bubble. Some of the outside doors could be accessed without using the key card. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast bar, choices were limited and there was no sausage or bacon.

Nice central location. Older hotel decor. Lack of amenities such as Kleenex/tissue, and enough towels. There was a coffee maker but the packets of sugar/creamer had not been fully replenished. There was a used coffee packet in the coffee maker. Free parking but a higher fee for our dog to stay with us. Breakfast offerings okay.
