Our room overlooks the channel where large watercraft and yachts use. Often docked to enjoy restaurant. Beach area great! Especially for littles. We rented kayaks and jet skis on site and this was great and convenient. The key lime coladas da best!!

Newly remodeled room we stayed in was comfortable and quiet. The restaurant and bar were convenient. The daily breakfast bar was very good. The lady that worked it was very friendly and hard working. The private waterfront cabanas were especially nice. Nice area to spend the day relaxing. The cabana attendant Igor was very efficient and friendly.

Very modern rooms. Bed was comfortable and beach was good. Despite the small beach it wasn't too crowded and very calm. Room service came extremely fast and helped instantly with our tv problems.

That was our third monthly weekend in a row. We do love almost everything at this poinn, but there are few things that could have be better 1. Breakfast- with nightly rate over $300 at least some hot food like eggs, sausage, pancakes ect ect would be nice. 2 . Cabana place is great, wonderful and our the main reasons we are keep coming back, but maybe bigger sign that is private can help. Amount of people just wondering and trying to simple walk in and get comfortable is enormous. And we are truly very upset to see the cabana girl go. She is the most nicest and hardworking girl we ever saw.

We stayed Thursday to Sunday. The first 2 days were great. The Tiki hut is great! Food is delicious and service fast. All of the bands were excellent. Then, the weekend comes and we can't get service at the bar or restaurant because locals are everywhere. We had trouble getting in and out of the resort because the street was full of people walking into the resort. We didn't have a spot to park at one point. Not sure how you treat PAYING customers like that.

This place is usually a lot of fun, there is always something going on here. They have great entertainment, the boat watching is awesome and the pool is warm. We have stayed her many times and have had a good time, this time however the pool area was FULL of people NOT staying at the resort, unruly kids who were unattened (Even very young kids) & people bringing in food and drinks, kids doing flips into the pool and hitting people with volleyballs. We ask security multiple times to address this & were told it would be taken care of ---- but never handled, come to find out that these people were friends of one of the waitresses who were allowing this. So, they apparently prioritized that over the people paying over $400 a night to stay here, that is aggravating!! Also, they discontinued the proteins at breakfast (no eggs or meat) so it is just muffins & cereal now, if you a "real" breakfast you will have to leave the resort or pay $15 for a Brunch item at the bar that doesn\'t open until 10am. I ordered 2 eggs & bacon - waited 35 minutes and got only 1 egg?? Unfortunately his trip to Gilbert\'s was disappointing, might have to try a new location in Key Largo after this....... : (

The rooms seem freshly redone and were pristinely clean. The view is excellent from a second floor room of the water. Great automated blind that covers whole window with touch of a button on the nightstand. So nice to have beach, marina, full service tiki restaurant and bar, lounge chairs, and live music. Great Key Largo stay!

We enjoyed watching the boats go by on our dock. The weekends are pretty busy with tourists and quiet during the week. The restaurant is located outside with a band playing nice music but the staff is very slow and not too friendly. Our room was comfortable but the floors were dirty and I cleaned them myself with a towel.

It was a terrible experience over there. Paying almost $400 per night for those rooms and the overall amenities, you are better off booking a real resort room. The worst that happened to me was beg bugs and when I called two days later, because I thought it was the mosquitos, but it wasn't, they just told me that there was nothing they could do or would do, no excuses, discount or anything, the place is not safe or clean and they don't care. Avoid!

Cabanas are the best. Food good. Mattress was horrible. Whole in wall and pile of hair in the bathroom were not a good thing to see. However, back to the beginning- Cabanas covered for minuses.

Me and my fiancé came a few times to tiki bar, but never stayed in the hotel. This time we decided to book a room and I loved everything about Gilbert’s! Check in was easy and took only a couple of minutes. We got room 112 and it was very clean, smell good, ac worked perfectly! Even bed and pillows were pretty comfy. View was really nice too. What also surprised me it was very quiet at night, we slept like babies :) Oh, and we saw a pack of dolphins passing by so close to the dock - it was fantastic! We are going back next month!

We were able to check in early on a saturday... it was loud and crowded people and cars everywhere. About 7:30pm or 8pm. Everyone was done and had a nice dinner at the restaurant. The best times to be outside are mornings ans aftee everyone has left dor the day!! The beds wernt the most comfortable. I would stay here again!

Place is ok, prob a lot of fun on a weekend -as long as you don’t need hot water. Couldn’t get hot water shower or sink, called front desk - had to leave a msg at 6pm - never got a call back. Also, would rather not hear the highway traffic all night/morning.

Nice property, just off route 1, facing ocean, adjacent to the harbor. Room is big and clean. 2nd floor common area has nice view to the ocean and beach. The room has a balcony, facing to the restaurant and pool. but the room is not noisy at all. 2nd floor has no elevator though.

There were problems with the internet which meant TV trouble but I can watch TV at home and internet crashes sometimes everywhere that’s life now. Yes it gets busy on the weekends but Gilbert’s takes care of there guests. The had parking saved for us when we returned on a Saturday evening from visiting Key West. The room was spacious and clean and loved the deck. The whole staff was so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed

I don’t know how anyone had given this place 5 stars! It is not worth close to the money they charge & their customer service is horrible (there is none)! Had read rooms were updated only 2 months ago but our room had mold in the shower, filth on the door, old food or something stuck on the welcome book pages. The “private deck” they say you get is a shared deck. The waterfront rooms are “fishbowls” so everyone can look inside your room if you have your shade open. Boats can dock only steps outside your room so there is excessive noise & can obstruct your waterfront view. You can’t block out the noise turning tv on because there is no reception on tv in room. Oh, also, if you have allergies, know they have stray cats that greet you if you’re on the deck & they rub against you & come in your room if you’re on deck. Says office hours are 8 am - 9 pm although tried going at 8 pm & door was locked & employees were gone. Repeatedly tried to call (left messages) & email but no one would answer, return calls or reply.

We have stayed at Gilberts for many years after the Miami Key Largo Race. We rented 5 rooms. We hosted 12 friends for dinner at the restaurant. After much dialogue with the staff 5 dinners never arrived. And they still included a 20% tip on the bill!

Front desk was overwhelmed but she was pleasant- said she would call when our room was done being cleaned- never called us we just had to keep checking in- moved into our room after 6:00 when checkin was at 4.00. Tikki bar servers were mostly helpful getting us tables for a large group. The front desk helper said she would call Tikki bar to help set this up but she never did which was disappointing. Overall a pleasant stay. Tikki for dinner and drinks was awesome. Would recommend to family and friends.

You hit the resort before Key Largo. It is in scenic waterfront setting on Jewfish Creek. All the rooms have a waterfront view. It has a good restaurant on premises. It is a good place to stay just off Key Largo.

Clean, easy to access from the main highway. Weekend was busy, but otherwise quite quiet. There is a tiki bar so you will hear music, but not crowded. No other facilities around, so if you want evening strolls there is nowhere to go unless you drive. Would definitely stay there again.

Gilbert’s is always a fun stop when you are entering or leaving the Keys! The staff is very nice. The rooms are clean and the first floor rooms with decks are always a bonus. The drinks are pretty good but restaurant leaves a lot to be desired so I would stick with the basics.

This is a laid back nice place to stay. Everyone we came in contact with was very friendly. Nice to be able to fish out your back door. Two disappointing things, one, could not watch the football game. They have streaming service and the game on Sunday was not an option. Two, breakfast was the worst I’ve seen for a continental breakfast. Yogurt and danishes, that’s it. The lack of a hot breakfast is enough reason for us to never stay there again. Even if we had to pay for it, that would be better than the option we had. There aren’t many restaurants close that serve breakfast, so every morning we had a drive. This is a fixable problem for Gilbert’s. Offer a hot breakfast, have more people stay with you.

The room was nice however the door did not have a padlock on the inside, the pool closes at 8pm, the famous tiki bars were barely open and close early, and the beach area was much more disappointing than what was advertised. The food at the tiki bar is also AWFUL.
