This felt more like a business resort than a conference centre. I enjoyed the tranquil gardens and layout as well as the amenities in the area. Very easy to walk to a Spur restaurant, supermarkets or mall I booked this because of the swimming pool. When I saw it the first time I was a bit shocked as it’s quite small but when I went to use it I realised its perfect and fit for purpose. It’s too small for an Olympic swimmer or tri-athlete wanting to exercise but it’s perfect for some to just relax in and enjoy the African Sky. Breakfast was fantastic. Very extensive and delicious

The staff were incredibly friendly and the property has a wide range of amenities. The rooms need better sound proofing - I'm not sure if there was a conference on near our unit but there was constant noise/people talking loudly to each other throughout the evening and early hours of the morning.

Ótima estadia! Ficamos apenas uma noite, pois tínhamos um voo no dia seguinte, mas achamos o hotel muito bom. Ele é gigantesco. Se o seu quarto for longe e você estiver a pé, lhe oferecerão um transporte em carrinhos de golf. Se estiver de carro, você pode estacionar bem em frente ao seu quarto, que foi o que fizemos. O Café-da-manhã estava delicioso e com várias opções de frutas e pratos. Todos os funcionários foram atenciosos e cordiais. Destaque ao recepcionista Lincoln, que foi muito ágil em nosso check-in. Da minha parte, hotel recomendado!

The staff are friendly but slow overall. The venue while decent on the outside is not clean or maintained in the room. They have carpets, it’s smelly and I found someone’s press on nail on the carpet and bugs and dust balls everywhere in the room. It’s convenient for location but they need to do better maintaining the room and cleanliness

Its was amazingly beding was clean but the carpets are dirty but the everything else is clean maybe you should consider tiles or wooden floors with small carpets next to the beds not very healthy for an asmatic despite all in all it is excellent

Check-in was smooth, the room was clean, and we had enough space, although we didn't get the standard of room I booked with Expedia. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The housekeepers were very friendly as well. Everything was very good. We also like the property because of how it is landscaped. It is well-maintained and beautiful.

1stly there were not enough towels in the room.half a roll of toilet paper and no tissues at all. The bedlinen was either torn or the studs had been pulled clean off as the duvet cover could not close at the bottom revealing a very itchy duvet inner. Went out and when we returned to our room around 1am, the room was infested with ants. We did notice a few ants when we checked in but we did not take notice as it’s not something unusual. But the it was just way too much when we returned. Even outside the room on the walls there were a lot of ants. We removed everyth out of the room n packed it into the car. This was the worst ever stay I have had in my life. Really it was unpleasant. Was told that Birchwood is really a place to visit n stay but after my experience I have to rethink about recommending it to my friends. I hope they can find some way to repay us for our bad experience.

I like what has been picked above, however, I find the environment is so remote because the facilities in the room are very basic compared to the amount of money, for instance when I came in there was no TV remote control but when I called for support, the TV itself was not in use, They repaired it but unfortunately the TV channels do not have substantive material to watch such as news. While there are some renovations of the facility from the last after my last visit but the service is not up to standard in my view to the extent that rooms lack basic things like shower cap and other small items to make life easier for guests

The staff was courteous, the rooms were spacious, clean and modern with a good number of electrical points. The AC systems were very effective, but a little noisy. The hotel offers basic and premium internet packages with the basic being included in the cost of the stay but was more than sufficient for streaming and video calling.

Really like the gardens walking about the property made you feel like you were not in the middle of the city next to the airport done very nicely. On July 10th, I forgot my cell with all my credit cards & identification on the dining room table. Didn’t realize it until I was almost ready to leave for my next flight. Couldn’t find it in my room so race back to the restaurant and sure enough it was turned in. By Lesedi, I was blown away as you hear all kinds of stories about theft in South Africa. I got the lady to call him so I could personally thank him. He is truly a good trustworthy staff member to have around. I even told the front desk the same. He should get employee of the month.

I would highly recommend against staying at this hotel. I was double charged for the room upon check in and had to provide credit card details three times to process my refund. One of those times someone from reception came to the room to ask for my card information and wrote it down. I will be keeping an eye out for suspicious charges. We paid extra for late checkout and the cleaning staff tried entering our room four times as we slept. We finally had to prop our suitcase under the door handle. The rooms were dated and did not feel clean. Room service took almost an hour and our food was ice cold upon arrival. We finally broke down and ordered McDonalds from Uber Eats to the hotel which was a significant improvement… which is not saying much. There was screaming outside our room at 2:00 am and barely slept all night. Staff were not very friendly. Overall, we did not feel safe and would never stay there again

I cannot began to express how pleased my husband and I were to stay at Birchwood. Everything about Birchwood was excellent and all of staff were excellent. From checking in to our departure. Nothing was too much of an effort. Just absolutely brilliant. We would certainly recommend Birchwood to all of our friends and family visiting South Africa. We look forward to our next visit and will definitely not be staying anywhere other than at the Birchwood ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Check-in is a mess at this hotel. They completely lost some of my reservations and cancelled the second day of another because the person arrived late on the first day. It took hours on multiple calls with Hotels.com to get everyone checked in, as well as a refund for the woman who had to pay for the room she had prepaid for through Hotels.com.

We were very impressed with the property and especially the staff. We included breakfast with our stay that was superb and very well priced. The area is not great but been fenced off it didn't bother us at all. The security staff were very friendly and helpful.
