Easy checkin. Great breakfast and very friendly and helpful breakfast server. He was very polite and helpful. Parking is near in the garage and the hotel provides a great rate. Park the car and leave it. You don’t need it unless leaving town. Train station is nearby and perfect for a day trip to Zermatt.

We stayed one night and really enjoyed the location. The hotel is in the middle of town on a street with many restaurants and shops (walking only street although cars can drop off passengers and bags). We really enjoyed walking through the city. Parking was very convenient a block away in a very large (and empty) parking garage with a discounted rate through the hotel. The room was large but bathroom was tight (it was a pod that had been added to the room). Since the hotel (and city) is on the older side, there was no air-conditioning. We used the fans provided in the room, which worked well as we were on the second floor. The only issue was that it is a very busy street with restaurants that are open late so we had to close the window both late at night and in the early mornings (many deliveries). The breakfast was in the restaurant on the first floor and was good. Overall we had a great stay and would considering staying again.

We had a street facing room. The weather was very, very hot and all they could offer was a fan that squeaked and couldn't offer a replacement. We were forced to sleep with the windows CLOSED because the club across the street was playing loud music all night, outdoors under the arcade, and the noise of the (amplified) music and the people was unbearable. We were forced to choose between the noise or sweltering. We chose to leave the next day rather than spend a second night like that. This is not the fault of the ownership or staff (except for the condition of the fan), but people need to understand the conditions here before they book. Definitely ask for a room not facing the street.

Great location. Very comfortable bed. Odd washroom area. Ok breakfast. No hot food. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc etc. Ask to toast your bread as no toaster to use. No AC, so if hot out, will be a problem. It was very hot in our room upon arrival. They provide a fan but with the room key functioning for electricity, once you leave the room fan shuts off. It did eventually cool down as we were there in Sept but keep that in mind.

Family room was not ideal. We had a little box of a bathroom inside the bedroom. Felt I was on a small cruise ship. Situated on first floor facing the busy street outside on a very hot day with no ac.. Not comfy to sat the least. I am sure other rooms are nicer.

I enjoyed my stay, once I got there. Because its a small town, no car, one way street kind of place - Not too GPS friendly, its a little hard to find. Theres a couple of parking garages if you have a car. Make sure they communicate precisely which one gives you their hotel discount and how to get to it. Pain in the neck to park, walk back, go get your car to load up- the the little town of Bern is cute and the hotel was fine other than that.

This hotel is in a great neighborhood. So easy to walk around town and get to the train station. It was clean and they are eco friendly. My only complaint was it was so hot and they don’t have air conditioning. They provide small cooler that just made it muggy. I’m sure it’s great if it’s not the middle of summer. I would stay again any other months.

Location is perfect. Staff were kind and friendly. But the bathroom was very tiny and there was a constant sewer smell from the bathroom and heard a water coming down in the pipes when someone using bathroom from upstairs. I was glad I only stayed one night there.

Needs improvement. Beds are uncomfortable, you feel the springs and the shower always emitted the sewer smell, never went away. Breakfast had good options and variety but everything was always cold. Staff was very friendly and nice.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found a lot to like about the area. The location was excellent—very walkable, with plenty of shops and places to eat right nearby, which made it really convenient to explore and enjoy the surroundings. Overall a very nice property ideally located in city center of Bern. Would have given a 5 star had we been informed that the room we rented was a top floor room with a very low sloping ceiling above the bed which meant you had to bend over and duck to avoid hitting your head. Hard to remember when getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Sorry for the detail but thought you might want to know.

The room was kind of funky with a luminescent yellow wall that housed the washroom. We liked it! It was small, but had a fridge and even some nice amenities, like slippers. Sadly though, the noise outside the room was disruptive, even with ear plugs. There is a hostel nearby plus there was construction outside, across the street there at the end of October.

Loved the location & the shower! Also the staff is nice and friendly. Overall did not like the room, It is a small room and was hot. The windows we needed to open but it was on the first floor so everyone across could Look in. That was not convenient and uncomfortable. Sofa Chair was broken we couldn’t sit on it. Poor lighting only one switch for all or none. The bathroom has an etched glass you can see the shadow of the person showering so if you are with other family members it might be uncomfortable too. That obligated us to shower with the light off so our sillohoutte wouldn’t be seen. It was ok stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Goldener Schlüssel hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was perfect for wandering around the old city of Bern and our room was comfortable and spacious, it even had a balcony that overlooked the nearby streets. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved the location of this property right in the middle of the Old Town (Altstadt). The young girl at reception was very friendly and helpful as was the young girl at breakfast. Loved that beakfast was included and it was delicious.

Very, very old hotel, no air conditioning, very small room, no capacity to assist guests with simple requests, and the bathroom in the room is the smallest I've ever seen and poorly adapted to the room. It was very noisy at night, making it difficult to rest. Sehr, sehr altes Hotel, keine Klimaanlage, sehr kleines Zimmer, keine Möglichkeit, den Gästen bei einfachen Anfragen zu helfen, und das Badezimmer im Zimmer ist das kleinste, das ich je gesehen habe und schlecht an das Zimmer angepasst. Nachts war es sehr laut, was das Ausruhen erschwerte. hotel muy pero muy viejo, sin aire accondicionado, habitacion muy pequeña, sin capacidad para apoyar a sus clientes en solicitudes simples y el baño de la habitacion es lo mas pequeño wue he visto y mal adaptado en la habitacion. en las noches muy ruidoso para poder descansar.

Great location and kind staff. The only negative was the EDM blasting from Friday night until 3 am Saturday. In contrast, Sunday night was VERY quiet and serene!

I enjoyed my stay, once I got there. Because its a small town, no car, one way street kind of place - Not too GPS friendly, its a little hard to find. Theres a couple of parking garages if you have a car. Make sure they communicate precisely which one gives you their hotel discount and how to get to it. Pain in the neck to park, walk back, go get your car to load up- the the little town of Bern is cute and the hotel was fine other than that.

Vom Bahnhof in 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Zentrale Lage heißt aber auch, dass man abends das Fenster erst sehr spät für die Nacht öffnen kann, ohne Feierabend-Lärm von der Straße zu hören (kein Autoverkehr).

Great location. Very comfortable bed. Odd washroom area. Ok breakfast. No hot food. Hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread, croissants, yogurt, fruit, etc etc. Ask to toast your bread as no toaster to use. No AC, so if hot out, will be a problem. It was very hot in our room upon arrival. They provide a fan but with the room key functioning for electricity, once you leave the room fan shuts off. It did eventually cool down as we were there in Sept but keep that in mind.

Agréable séjour dans l hôtel nous avons étais accueilli avec la joie et la bonne humeur Les chambres sont très bien pas de problème de bruit (par contre les oreillers pas top) Le repas du soir super nickel je recommande vraiment la fondu 😍 Et le matin le petit déjeuner super bon Par contre le jus et le pains obliger de demander pour en avoir car il y en avais plus et il fallait attendre 20 min pour avoir du pain petit déjeuner pris à 8h40

The only plus point about the hotel was the location. The buffet breakfast was limited to breads, cheese , yogurts. There wasn’t any warm food like scrambled eggs etc The room wall was think and we could hear others people talking in their room. They do not change towel daily and the hotel is kind of old. Compared to all the other hotels I stayed in Switzerland , this was disappointing

Great little hotel in a very convenient location. Helpful staff, clean and modern rooms, good breakfast. Parking turned out to be pretty good as well, if you don’t mind waking up/down stairs to the nearby parking garage.

The room was kind of funky with a luminescent yellow wall that housed the washroom. We liked it! It was small, but had a fridge and even some nice amenities, like slippers. Sadly though, the noise outside the room was disruptive, even with ear plugs. There is a hostel nearby plus there was construction outside, across the street there at the end of October.
